    Happy Holidays from Rote Kapelle

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 12:05 PM PST

I commissioned another art piece for the holidays.

I just wanted to say, Happy Holidays from our family to yours. I hope you guys are having a wonderful December and getting lots of gudfights in EVE.

Shout out to my bros in Rote Kapelle. You are what make's this game so great. I could not choose a better group to fly with. In a time where people claim this game is dying, you are stepping above the status quo to go out and create content in eve. I'm thankful for every one of you.

Also thankful for our bro who survived the recent attack in Afghanistan. We are glad you are safe and thank you so much for everything you do.

A special extra Merry Christmas to our bro planting the Rote flag on your Antarctic expedition. Be safe out there.

Shoutout to our Bro's in Cone and Unspoken for being awesome.

Special thanks to the Artist: Tommy Lee for making this wonderful piece.

    FOUND: Gnosis in a C1

Found by a corpmate doing some explo today. After convincing the heartless bastard from killing the scared little thing, I brought it back into highsec, gave it a warm hangar and a fresh AF skin to wear while we find the original owner.

Further information gleaned on the individual shows that he's one of our new korean eve players, less than a month old. we here at spoopy would like to make this a PSA to all our new korean players that we'd be happy to help any new players learn how to make your ship ready for wormhole space, as it seems the player forgot to fit a probe launcher before taking on c1 sites, thus, had abandoned it and SD'd his pod to get back to HS. If anyone is in a corp that doesn't know what Thera is or why Ordinary Perimeter Reservoirs are a practical joke by CCP, we would like to be there for you if your desire is to go charging after wormholes.

If you have a case of the gottaseeums when it comes to Wormhole space, talk to Algazel or Ed Curver today!

Personal goal reached after several years in EVE :) (Heron PvP).

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 07:49 AM PST

    Zkill Link for Heron PvP

Even though i am not posting videos (because i very rarely have the program running to record pvp, but maybe in the future), i reached one goal for myself that i was targeting for with 1.000 heron kills, which atm hasn't been reached for any other t1 exploration frigate (to be fair ... the Heron is probably the best case for pvp due to the nice slot layout).

Even though there are several whoring-kills, some structures like MTU's, i tried to keep them solo against other ships as much as possible. During that time, i could get some nice solo-kills (two tengus, one stratios where i am super happy about), had a lot of attacks where things got out or i had to disengage (one Navy Raven that got out in hull, one Naglfar that i couldn't break and had to let go, even though the pilot was thinking i was totally bored, one Freighter or Jumpfreighter (not sure anymore), that i caught on a jumpgate on a POS, but like most times reinforcements did end the try, a couple recons, where they would have slowly died as their dps wasn't good enough, but they had cynos and often dropped carriers, dreads or even supers up to titans (sometimes i got out, sometimes i died).

TONS of ECM drones on asteros that let them disengage, even more stabbed stuff and the general getting blobbed or things i tried to attack, but well ... couldn't handle ... 125mm Sabres hurray ... 150mm and you're pretty much dead. :) Lokis that i was hunting, and they really didn't wanna fight me, even though they were in the system to attack Ishtars :D

Even though there are people who say, everything can kill everything ... i never managed to break a rattlesnake :D Since the "first" 1000 kills have alot of kills, were i was not really experienced (my fit changed several times over the years and i lost around 500 herons in all the fights), i am confident at some point, i will get down a loki, a legion and a proteus (almost had one, but had help coming, as the proteus pilot brought in a VNI, so not really 100% solo anymore) :)

And maybe i will think about recording some of the fights i have. Mira is already doing that in a great way :)

Press Release: TSCA and LCSIS Merge to Form United Standings Improvement Agency

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 07:31 PM PST

Imiarr Timshae of The Standings Correction Agency [TSCA] and Archer en Tilavine of the Lotek Corporation Standings Improvement Service [LCSIS] are pleased to announce the completion of the merger of their respective organizations, which will now operate as the newly formed United Standings Improvement Agency [USIA].

    https://reddit.com/link/ebq7dj/video/0qwap7f154541/player

To celebrate their grand opening, the United Standings Improvement Agency will be offering 10% off all services from now through January 15th, YC122!

To learn more or to enlist USIA's services, join the USIA Discord server and speak with USIA Heads Archer en Tilavine or Imiarr Timshae. You can also check out the USIA Website or the USIA EVE Forums Advertisement.

USIA will be jointly owned and operated by both Mr. Timshae and Mr. En Tilavine, both of whom will personally handle all financial transactions between clients and employees. As a result of the merger, clients can expect jobs to be finished more quickly, employees can expect more jobs to be made available, and the heads of USIA can share the administrative burdens that come with running such a high-volume service.

TSCA has been led by Imiarr Timshae for over a decade, during which they've been the unrivaled household name in standings improvement services. There has been no shortage of positive testimonials, blog posts, and even an ISD article written about TSCA over the course of its operation. It was only within the past year that TSCA went in hibernation for a few months that Archer en Tilavine formed LCSIS to address the needs of the community, during which time it has developed a reputation and accrued several positive testimonials of its own.

It was not my intention to start a standings improvement service. I was giving advice to someone on the official EVE forums on how to improve their standings when they asked me if I'd be willing to improve their standings for them since TSCA, who they ordinarily would have gone to, had been more or less defunct at the time. I asked members of my alliance if they'd be interested in the job, and we accepted the commission using TSCA's business model as our foundation. The rest is history.

    -- Archer en Tilavine

When asked what prompted the merger between TSCA and LCSIS, Mr. Timshae responded:

I was getting back into EVE when I stumbled across Archer's advertisement for LCSIS. As the market incumbent, we've had several people try to compete with TSCA in the past, and they've gone as quickly as they've come; LCSIS, however, was different. Archer managed to take our model, which has been largely untouched over the past 10 years, and improved it on a point-by-point basis. On the principle that collaboration is better than competition, I reached out to him about working together instead of as rivals.

As we got to learn more about each other and the internals of each other's business operations, we came to realize that we had quite a bit in common, from our political views and sense of humor to the spreadsheets we developed for computing client fees and payments to employees. Given how compatible our business models were, we decided to give merger a go through a third entity as co-equals instead of one group absorbing the other.

    -- Imiarr Timshae

The newly formed USIA combines TSCA's experience and reputation with the innovations of LCSIS's and the passion and dedication of their leadership. To celebrate their grand opening, the United Standings Improvement Agency will be offering 10% off all services from now through January 15th, YC122!

[CCPls] Stop hypernet spam in the NPC corp chat

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 06:04 AM PST

Do i need to point out why?

Every new player starts in an NPC corp. Its a place where many ask questions or for help. If i am on a random toon, i often like to help them. With the Hypernet spammers you cant really have a conversation to help players and i think it leaves a really bad impression, if the first thing you see is hypernet spam, while you are still in the tutorial.

BONUS POINTS if channel admin can also set this flag for his chatchannels (maybe also a flag for contracts and corpinvites)

[Feature Suggestion] Now that we have Somerblink back...

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 05:41 AM PST

I would like to request a new feature called Hypernet Hold'em. Now I know what you're thinking already... That'd be gambling right? But no...

The feature I propose is a raffle in which players get 2 hypercards, and then can offer a number of hypercores based on how likely they think they are to win the raffle. After each player bets enters the raffle again, we show a hyperflop of 3 hypercards and have another chance to enter the raffle before a final two hypercards (the hyperriver are shown). The winner is the person with the best hyperhand.

CCP takes 5% of the hyperpot and the hyperbuyin and we get another fun and exciting raffle.

    Best resources for new players?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 01:04 PM PST

Hey guys, I'm new to the game. Are there any good online resources to learn about what ships are good for certain situations and also which modules to use in different situations? Right now I'm following a beginner youtube video.

Programmers out there. Does "spaghetti code" actually effect the overall game?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 07:31 AM PST

I know just enough coding to break stuff. How much adverse effect is there to this being such an old game taped together like a minmater rust racer? Is there truth to the meme? If so where?
