    All market orders for the affected modules will be removed, the modules and escrow will be returned to the character who created the order. We will convert every module of one type into modules of another type, everywhere in the database. This includes modules currently fit to ships and modules in containers or contracts.

    Is the DDOS still going?

    I was having a ton of issues connecting last night and then read about the DDOS. Well while connecting was slightly better it still took way too long today and I almost lost a ship due to a DC. Is this seriously STILL going on? Only asked because I recently did some undervolt tweaking to my CPU and I wanted to make sure it isn't the cause since other games seem to work fine.

    The new DLC packs are awful

    So the new packs are awful, and here's why

    Lets establish value for both PLEX and gametime first:

    Gametime is either $14.95 per month, or $10.95 per month if you buy a 1 year sub.

    PLEX, i'll use the 2860 pack as a baseline as its in the middle of what is offered. It costs $99.99, and therefore 1 unit of plex is 99.99/2860=$0.0349

    SP, it depends, 250k on an 80m SP toon requires 1 large and 3 small injectors, https://evepraisal.com/a/p3djp which is 1.35b. BUT, that's assuming you're wanting to inject, for an 80m toon, most people won't. 250k SP is literally only 4 days of training....

     

    Platinum Pack

    This is the biggest pack, and so surely would have the best value per dollar right? Let see!

    Price: $89.99 Contents: 3 months gametime, 1500 plex, 250k SP, and a skin

    So best case value is (14.95x3)+(0.0349x1500)+250kSP = $97.2 and 250k SP

    But realistically, if you're buying this pack you have the cash for a year sub, so value is instead (10.95*3)+(0.0349)+250kSP = $85.2

    As you can see, the value in either case is either "on par" with just buying PLEX/Gametime, or actually worse than it.

    250k SP is worth at BEST 1.35b assuming you are the kind of person who thinks injecting an 80m sp toon is worth doing. If not, then its 4 days of training, so literally $2 ish in gametime terms.

     

    Basically, these packs don't make sense to buy unless they are on sale. If they aren't, just buy gametime if you need gametime, or PLEX if you need plex.

    Regional pricing

    I also want to say, in the UK and potentially other locations, the problem is worse.

    90 days omega is at worst £30, or £22.5 value if you buy a 1 year sub 1500 plex is (assuming you're buying the 2860 pack) worth £44

    So the pack "value" is actually only £67 plus the SP.....aaaand they're charging £76 for it? £10 for 250k sp??

    New packs are up; crappier deals than the old ones, and a bunch more SP generated directly for cash. Weewoo.

    Bronze $10 pack - 60 PLEX, 250k SP, crappy frigate skills/clothes

    Silver $23 pack - 30 days gametime, 110 PLEX, 250k SP, crappy destroyer skins.

    Gold $50 pack - 60 days gametime, 500 PLEX, 250k SP, Vedmak Metamateria skin

    Platinum $90 pack - 90 days gametime, 1500 PLEX, 250k SP, Drekavac Metamateria skin

    So basically the 1M SP from the old $5 pack is now spread across $173 worth of packs, with the other benefits being a crappier deal than the old ones. Surprised none of them are called the Pearl pack.

    Gold one looks especially bad; old 50 dollar pack was 60 days gametime, 500 PLEX, and 2 MCTCs. So you trade 2 MCTCs (30-40 dollar value) for 250k SP and a worthless skin.

    Really enjoying the game, a very different pace, I remember trying the game many years back but quit only like after an hour, probably went back to another game. I played so many fantasy games.. Good to be back in the future.

    The genre these days has burned my eyeballs with the new graphics and fast action, so been lurking in the old games again.
