CCPlease allow multiple clonebays in structures Posted: 01 Sep 2020 06:36 PM PDT This has been brought up before here (and here again) but the time to act on this change is now. The Quantum Core update is going to significantly increase the isk invested in structures and the reward for knocking them down. The new "ante" as CCP put it, is calibrated to be a significant consideration for small groups. A major contrary consideration for groups to keep their structures online, is access to clonebays. Currently only one clonebay is allowed per upwell structure, necessitating even small corps to anchor multiple structures to meet the needs of their members. Almost any player needs a clean clone and a training clone and many also prefer a few flavors of clones for pvp or pve. To use an example, if you had a desire for a total of six clones, currently you would need 5 structures to accommodate that. There are three service slots in an Astrahus, you should at least have the capability to place three clonebays there. If you don't have a need for other modules, this change would bring the number of structures you need to maintain down to 2. I can think of three compelling reasons to implement this change:

[TOP SECRET] How Brave finances the war effort, 2.5bn/hr blops baiting Posted: 01 Sep 2020 03:42 PM PDT First of all the killmail : https://zkillboard.com/kill/86834036/ Earlier today one of Brave's bots to find fleets or shiny targets around our space popped up with this a poor newbro being slain by a homeless bee sympathiser. Such injustices cannot be left unanswered so a bounty was placed for the masses. Nothing big but enough to rile up the newbros to get out and give it a shot. https://i.imgur.com/idei9S6.png 4 Hours later a lobby ping goes out (as is tradition) https://i.imgur.com/HqcL39O.png the witch is dead... already? As part of the elite wing of the Imperium the master blopser drops twice in the same system. That's the last thing anyone would expect right? Truly a modern mastermind. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Sep 2020 10:02 PM PDT I think about spend my money to Omega, but... ...Alpha gameplay is extremly boring, I tried mining where I just watch how to my ore store while 15 min. fill go back to station sell ores and repeat it. I tried also trading and every single jump without autopilot needs 1 min. The best trade give me 100k-200k ISK per jump. I can't see where I am wrong but I don't get it you just pay for this game to watch and wait. 3 months of Omega game cost around one AAA game ~€40 (in my country). Maybe I have no imagination or I am blind. How big is difference between Alpha and Omega? I hope it's not like cheap mobile games where u have to wait before you can do anything. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Sep 2020 11:00 AM PDT Picture I Made: https://imgur.com/a/xafytl1 BR: https://br.evetools.org/br/5f4e89787223e000144e2fe2 Well here's the story (because don't we all love those). I was given a heck ton of phantasms to hand out, as well as a heck ton of ospreys. So I formed up a hand out phantasm fleet and went straight for 1dq! I had hoped that *maybe* goons wouldn't form up a perfect counter (cough 150 man munnin flee cought) but it is what it is. Overall we had fun whelping in a wonderful fashion, GF goons, etc. 1st monitor loss for me as well (lost in the way a monitor *should* be, with the remains of your fleet warping off and being orbited by 100 hostiles). I know that people always go "grrr small battle reports of no significance" but this was the biggest fleet I've ever run, first time in a monitor, and first time in a situation that had 100+ people on grid where *I* was the FC. I think I learned a bit from this, and would love to continue learning. BTW I'd love to do arranged fights, like corvette brawls, industrial brawls, t1 frigates, etc, DM me if interested. We need more "fun" fleets where people can just meme around and no one cares about isk positivity. EDIT: Heres a video of the fight (at least part of it) [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Sep 2020 07:28 AM PDT We've all read the typical newbro advice...eve's golden rules, don't fly what you can't afford to lose, do the career agents, join a corp, don't get scammed, don't WH until you're ready, etc, etc. What I would love to know is, from the experienced pilots, what is the one golden nugget of advice or piece of information you found out later in the game that would've been a game changer if you had known from the beginning??? (I foresee this post getting downvoted to oblivion but I figured I'd ask anyways!) EDIT: Guess it didn't get downvoted...thanks all! [link] [comments] |
Defending your Citadel in 2021 Posted: 01 Sep 2020 12:51 PM PDT Quantum Cores change the math when it comes to shooting structures. That is undeniable. But it doesn't change much in most areas of space. Your average medium structure will, including the quantum core, now drop a rough average of a billion isk in loot, assuming some level of fit. Fortizars will now be worth roughly 5-6 billion isk to kill. This means that undefended structures are now worth expending the effort to kill. That, in and of itself, is fine. The new calculus is: Can I kill enough of the attacker's stuff to make this unprofitable for them? This is not particularly difficult, at least on the scale you would expect structures to be fought over. Killing a raitaru isn't profitable anymore if you lose only three T2 cruisers, or a single nicely fit T3C. If you're not capable of bleeding the attackers of only 5 billion isk worth of ships defending a fortizar, you probably don't deserve to own said fortizar. But what if the attackers bring overwhelming force?? Fortunately, CCP set the amounts at a pretty reasonable level. A 10-15 man group can defend a medium structure from up to 25 attackers, assuming relatively equal ships. A 50-man group that owns a fortizar can easily hold it against over 100 attackers, at least in non-HS space where they can leverage their capital defense advantage. 1 billion divided by 25 people is 40 million isk each. 5 billion divided by 100 people is 50 million isk each. So showing up to three timers that are going to take a minimum of 30 minutes of your time assuming travel + damage cap, assuming zero ship losses, where you show up with enough people to blob the defender into submission without a fight nets you less than ratting in a myrmidon. Trying to argue that a financial incentive that low is motivation to blob people seems somewhat silly to me. And remember- if you take any substantial losses on any of the timers because of enemy batphones or your own mistakes, your potential profit is wiped out. TL:DR- This change just makes it so you can no longer defend your structure by making it worth so little no one cares to bash it. You need to actually undock and shoot the enemy, or pack up.
