Near2 website and support discontinued 30 Nov 2019 Posted: 07 Nov 2019 07:15 PM PST A Quick note for those who used our Intel app. We will be officially discontinuing support for near2. The website of nearforeve.com where it can currently be downloaded from will be going down and our updating server is shutting down too from the 1st of december. The app is fully client based so you can continue to use it, but we won't be fixing bugs or keeping it functional beyond now. Maintaining and fixing the app has become too time consuming for us. We like to thank those that used it and donated isk for the support and hope you have fun in new eden. The best of luck. 07 fly safe [link] [comments] |

BLOG - Its great to be free again Posted: 07 Nov 2019 11:10 AM PST So it's been 16 years since I started playing and I have seen eve change dramatically over the years. Im tiberiusric CEO of Comply Or Die (CODIE) and my old main Jebidus Skari i formed way back in 2006 after Tri Mk1 disbanded. and yes we are still going and so am I surprisingly! Corps, alliances come and go, major wars won and lost. Back in ASCN and Bob days, then Morsus Mihi and Razor in the North with Iron and Pure as part of the real Northern Coalition and then of course Goonswarm, Atlas and Test emerging. Particularly remember when test was just an upcoming Goon pet. I look back at those days fondly some of my best times in eve, with great friends and stirring things up with Tri MK1 where 50-100 man gangs nano and RR BS was normal meta, and piracy was real piracy and was scary as fuck when you jumped through the gate and saw those little red flashes on your overview. Where Amamake was PL's home with Heretic Army and Rancer was the worse place to be. Where highsec wars cost 50mill and Privateers just wardecced everyone and the Jita undock was a slaughter. When SOV was about POS Bashing and whoever put down the most POS's won. When refueling POS was a hardous take and those faction death stars where your friend. When we used to have to put in our bios who we were friendly with and we used to shout in local 'check my bio' to avoid what we now call blue on blue. When we used to have those real 10/10 DED sites like dungeons where that was a real risk maker, and where fights occurred. Sure eve wasn't perfect, it needed fixing, but it was fun, it was always about just getting on comms, with your mates and just going out shooting stuff. The great thing was people would equally form up to shoot back and have fun. No excuses just let's meet in the middle and blast away, no one cared, everyone could loot the field and leave happy, dead or alive. CODIE back when started was a great little corp, we started after Trk MK1 ended and went into Piracy, had some great fun and joined Goodfellas when they were a great nano roaming alliance, we fought in the Max wars, took Deklein and as a corp we grew and was pretty damn good. But as many years go on, eve changes, people leave and we had our ups and down, people took breaks, so did i. Codie closed and reopened. I tried being just being a player in another corp, but just didn't want that I wanted to keep building CODIE back to its glory days. I purposely joined alliances that where friendly with NC. so we could fly with them because a lot of old guys I flew with was there. That was good fun and again we hit well above our weight. But again things changed and eve changed, hundreds more corps appeared more alliances appeared, just living in nullsec no longer gave you automatic recruitment. The game changed much more into krab mode rather than pvp mode. It was about how many blues could you have to ensure you could super rat and rorqual mine in peace. It was about how many PAPs you should do. You just became another corp/person in yet another alliance doing the exact same thing as your last alliance. Fun and GFs just sort of left, and so did corpies and so did your friends, Real friends you had played the game with and had experiences with. We prided CODIE on the fact we was always about a close knit friends. I think we certainly lost that as we tried to pursue the glory days in a new eve landscape. After a few years bouncing around I decided to leave all that BS and get back to what CODIE is about, good friends, with real lives and families that like to have some banter and doesn't care about trying to be something else, but a solid group that will always help each other, and support each other when they need to take a break or RL > eve. When your copies haven't logged in for a while and its like they never went away when they do and yes activity isn't as high. Then we go out try to shoot stuff, hilariously die sometimes, but who cares, this is what for me eve is about friendships, fun and no fucks given trying to please some other person. Its shouldn't be about how many kb stats your friends have. If that's all that matters over friendships then you're doing it wrong. So we've left our alliances, and I'm going to reform Retribution. Alliance and just enjoy. We probably going to either hang in Venal or in Curse and if you are like us, where you want to have some good friends to chill with, with no stress and just enjoy the game doing whatever makes those spare minutes you to play the game, then hit me up or join our pub channel comply or die in game or jump on our discord and maybe be part of our corp or alliance. Not matter how big or small or active you are. Vets and new its about friendships and people to talk with Even if you don't want to join us then come in and have some banter too chat about the game, life and old times. Feels great to be free again… [link] [comments] |

Hog Hitment to Lose Fortizar in Hek Posted: 07 Nov 2019 11:59 AM PST Recently, hog hitmen declared war on almost every major alliance in New Eden. The wars have been an excellent source of content in Hek for anyone partaking in the destruction of the low-level pvp'rs that don't seem to have any problem throwing ships in value of 1b onto the field and losing them. Collectively, multiple alliances attacked their Fortizar in Hek which also seems to be their war HQ. The Fortizar is set to come out on Saturday at 22:00 Eve time. I invite anyone who is wanting to get in on this kill to offer assistance to corps that are already war-decked against Hog Hitmen as Pirat is offering assistance to anyone who deks them directly. Don't get me wrong, I would love to roll up on Pirat and blow them out of the f**king water, but it's going to take quite the bundle of joy to smack around that slave-set fleet. Join in with the rest of Eve in the destruction of their Fortizar, and contact me in-game (Rudazara) if you want to get in on the fleet happening this Saturday. All are welcome. [link] [comments] |

Beta testers wanted - new corp/alliance management/fitting tool Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:30 PM PST Hey all, over the last couple weeks I've been retrofitting an old tool I wrote for myself. Originally intended just to help me out with industry stuff, Fleet-Up's death prompted me to go back and revisit it to see if I could make it actually useful. Two weeks later I'm getting pretty happy with my new tool - tentatively named Cyno-Up because I'm unimaginative - so I'm looking for a couple folks who might be interested in helping me beta it before I release it to the general public. A brief "what and why" is here - you can also use that thread to post any feature requests. In terms of replicating Fleet-Up's functionality, I'd say I'm maybe halfway there - hence asking for beta testers instead of throwing it out as-is. I'm interested in both small corp pilots and those from bigger groups, to help make sure I've got the whole spectrum covered. The intention is to fully replicate Fleet-Up's functionality by the end of the year, and then start adding my own little bits as I go. If you're interested in beta testing, or have any questions or feature requests, let me know - I'm hoping to start letting the first wave of folks in by the end of the week, or middle of next week at the latest. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 Nov 2019 03:42 PM PST The second phase of Project Discovery seems to have been a succes as the scientists behind it got Nobel prize. So we can assume it will be leaving the game in recent future. I believe we can expect something to come out of this research even in game. The first phase of Project Discovery gave us alpha clone state. What will we get this time? The second phase of project discovery started 2017. Exoplanets: The Next Phase Of Project Discovery. In this cowdsourced science project players look at star luminosity data to find exoplanets orbiting them. The project seems to have been a succes as the scientists behind it got Nobel prize. That is all nice and good out of game. But lets focus on EVE now. Lets look back at the first phase of Project Discovery in 2016. In the first phase of Project Discovery capsuleers analyzed tissue samples for Sisters of EVE. "Project Ascension" Capsuleers had been analyzing not only normal human samples but also Drifter samples. The result of the research was Alpha clone state which was released to all four empires without CONCORD approval (Chronicle: Sine Wave: Alpha). CONCORD took over project discovery. One would have expected CONCORD to shut down this illegal research project but instead they harnessed it for their own purposes. Starting the second phase of project discovery. Exoplanets: The Next Phase Of Project Discovery. This time capsuleers would look at star luminosity changes to find exoplanets orbiting them. Or at least that is the official (and IRL) story. CONCORD is doing something. We can be sure of it. Seizure of Trinary databases, secret operations in the Drone Regions and a mysterious "Universal Timebase Measurement Research". Last of which was directly related to Project Discovery and had some really suspicious elements https://forums.eveonline.com/t/universal-timebase-measurement-research/49541 Also: SOE Splinter Group Claims Timebase Mission a Cover for CONCORD Black Ops Anti-Drifter Experiment Current hot topic of the EVE lore are the Triglavians and so far they have only one (confirmed) chronicle appearance in Sine Wave: Omega. This chronicle connects Thukker Tribe, Rogue Drones, CONCORD and Triglavians in one cryptic chronicle. That all has been in the past. Potential connections, strange chronicles and suspicious actions. Now we will get to the part where I look at the future. On hoboleaks you can see the description of two new strucutres. "Triglavian Stellar Observatory"
This is not the first time Triglavians have shwon interest in stellar data. Earlier this year we got short Triglavian video clips that had stellar data in prominent role https://youtu.be/pwXcTMB6eN0?t=211 But what is more interesting is that CONCORD is also taking actions now. "CONCORD Stellar Observatory"
Pieces are starting to come together. CONCORD conducting crowd sourced data analysis on stellar data (Project Discovery), Triglavians acting aggressively towards CONCORD (Sine Wave: Omega), Rogue Drones acting weirder than usual (working with Triglavians). I believe that these CONCORD stellar observatories are directly related to Project Discovery. But what will they do? Triglavians have shown that they are able to manipulate the local space. The support pylons in Triglavian Ivasion sites, Triglavian invasion system wide effects, the Triglavian stellar accelerator structure and of course the ability to create(?) and manipulate(?) abyssal deadspace. Also during the fanfest one of the presentations teased possibility of "space weather" affecting systems/constellations/regions of New Eden. The connection to Triglavians seems obvious. I believe CONCORD is using Project Discovery to research Triglavian space manipulation technology. And once the research is complete either NPC factions will deploy these structures in space or we will. TL;DR: Project Discovery phase 2 is coming to an end. CONCORD will be using it to create space weather. [link] [comments] |

Introducing a new serie - Here is the Intro Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:45 PM PST |
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 07:27 AM PST Hi there, i played some Eve 3 years ago and iam thinking about starting again. I want to play a game, where i have to think and that i can play over a longer period and thats online. So playing Eve again seems to be perfect. My first child was born 5 months ago and of course i like to spend the most of my time with my wife and my child, but playing games is a part of my life since i can remember. I can play 3-4 days per week for some hours in the evening, when the kiddo is sleeping - sometimes more, sometimes less. I think Eve is a 100 percent game, but i really want to play it, jesus iam already dreaming about it. So iam looking for advice: Is it worth to play with a limited amount of time? I dont want to fly with a titan next week, i want to play in my style and in my pace and it really suits me that you can learn skills while being offline, but iam still a little concerned that iam chasing just a wishful thinking. For all what i have seen, you are a great community and i would really like to be a part of it! Thank you very much, your advice is very appreciated! edit: Wow! Again thank you all very much for your encouraging and also critical comments! I was able to extract valuable tips, like working with cloaking, what is super nice, when i have to leave the place. Iam happy to see, that even parents with more kids, respectively pilots with less time than me, are able to have fun in this game. Thanks to you i have changed my mind: Eve isnt a 100 percent game - its 100 percent what you make out of it. I couldnt answer all of you, but be sure, that you have my upvote! You made me very happy! CCPLS If I Skip the Tutorial, I am Not A Rookie Posted: 07 Nov 2019 08:32 AM PST For all that is good and holy, why the aboslute fuck does "Rookie Help" keep getting added to my channels when I skipped the tutorial on my alt and closed the chat window? Seriously, it's annoying that I have to close it every god damn time I log in with a new character. I get it, it's to help new people, however I am not new. I skipped over the tutorial and closed the chat window. I am clearly not interested in it and I am not a new bro, so maybe make it so you can opt out of it? Cuz it gets really annoying having to wait out the "newbro" timer or whatever a head up it's own ass would think of. [link] [comments] |

WARNING: max 20k personal Bookmarks; Bookmarks in container will be imported up to this mark Posted: 07 Nov 2019 08:26 AM PST As I've found out on sissi, you can have a max of 20.000 Bookmarks in your personal folder. All bookmarks in container somewhere on a station will be imported until you have 20.000 bookmarks in your personal folder. All other bookmarks over this mark will be DELETED! So, when you have a lot of Gatespots and tactical spots in EVE like me (more than 60k bookmarks) you only will have 20k of those left. The others are lost and can't be restored! Also it's not possible anymore to create a "bookmark" item (to sell it in a contract for example). So in future you can't sell your escalations. Bug Report: EBR-184702 Ok, tested a bit more. Every "personal locations" folder can have up to 20.000 bookmarks after the import, but only 3.000 Bookmarks in total. So when you reached the 3.000 bookmarks, it's not possible anymore to create or copy any bookmark into this folder. BUT you can exceed the 3.000 limit AND the 20.000 limit in your "Personal Location" tab with creating new main folders. Suggestion for a fix:
For step 3: It shouldn't matter when there are several containers with the same name. Its already possible to have multiple locations folder (on sissi) with the same name. [link] [comments] |

How to tell which ship is doing the most damage to me. Posted: 07 Nov 2019 08:33 AM PST Didn't there used to be a way to tell which of your attackers are doing the most dps? I'm talking about rats here, but player ships could be useful too. Mainly i'm looking at how to figure out which rats I need to focus fire down first in missions to reduce the incoming dps.
