    X-mas came late this year!

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 10:21 PM PST

My corp has been doing war decs to pass time, and some of our targets have been particularly active. One night after a failed defense fleet on their end and an orca loss 20 minutes after said fight (on the same grid), our enemies started shuffling their assets around. Unfortunately for DaveyBonez, we had eyes on more than just one system.

Friendly reminder that tiericided meta mods have keywords that tell you what upside they provide.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 02:45 AM PST

    • Compact - Takes less CPU/PowerGrid to fit. Does not always reduce both.
    • Enduring - If it takes capacitor to use, it costs less cap to activate.
    • Scoped - More range than other T1/Meta variants, but usually less than T2.
    • Restrained - If it has a drawback, the drawback is reduced. For example, on Shield Extenders/Armor Plates this means less sig radius/mass addition, and on MWDs it means reduced sig bloom but also less cap penalty - so by extension it's more cap stable than a T1/Compact.
    • Precise - Better base tracking stats. Currently only available on capital-sized guns (as they're the only guns thus far to have received tiericide).
    • Ample - Holds more ammo per clip. Available on some subcap-sized missile launchers but not all of them. Available on all capital-sized missile launchers and all capital-sized artillery/autocannons.
      Thanks /u/Dr-n-JoDr for the reminder.

And a little bonus: Storyline mods, though rarely used, have the bonus of having the compact level fittings with T2 level strength - so a Storyline Heavy Neut has 1.8k cap / 32 CPU but has the 30km falloff / 600 GJ neut strength.

Been looking for a game to spend A LOT of time in....I’ve searched high and low...and ended up here....help!

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 12:51 AM PST

I'm brand new to Eve. Can someone point me in the right direction? I understand there is a STEEP learning curve.

Luckily I'm a mature (relatively speaking haha) adult with some expendable income. And a willingness to learn.

I understand what Eve is...real PVP but that's about it.

    Any advice is appreciated!!

    What do next?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 04:33 PM PST

So I started EVE 3 years and 5 days ago and I don't know what to do next.

I first lived in high sec mining and joined a corp for that. The alliance (Galactic Skyfleet Empire, G-SE) the corp was part of tried to claim sov in Tenal (the 2-ZRM0 constellation) but failed (but it was fun and a good learning ground) and disbanded. The successor of that alliance then tried to become part of the Phoenix Federation, but we didn't get enough fleet participation, so we had to rent some space from them. PF collapsed and we allied with Triumvirate against SOLAR FLEET with the objective to claim some space. This plan failed as well, so we rented space from TEST. I left my corp later after to many problems within the alliance. Since then I did incursions (free ISK and no activity requirement).

My first 2 chars have 60M skill point each. My main has solid base skills for any sub cap ship (shield/armor, navigation, engineering pretty much full for sub cap) and the second char is a Rorqual pilot.

I want to (finally) get into PVP while having the possibility to make some ISK (I need to replace the ship I lose) so I think null sec and wormhole are the logical answers for that but I don't know which is better and I don't really have any preference. I did kinda live in a WH for some time as we were plagued by war decs and CODE while mining in high sec, so we spend some time in a WH. Obviously I have better understanding of null sec than of WH.

Did I miss another option? And what would be the best option?

High-Sec Factory Planet PI Good Income?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 04:15 PM PST

I know it would depend on what you produce and so on, but does anyone out there make some good money doing factory plant PI? I'm sure it would take a lot of characters doing it, but I feel like you could still potentially make billions a month doing this.

Why are Jump Freighters / Rorquals able to scoop Citadels without breaking Warp Invulnerability?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 05:21 AM PST

(And then jump out) If a ship is making actions in space it shouldn't be invulnerable?

Some days I feel like you don't want us to blow shit up CCP...

    Hypernet Suggestion

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 03:12 AM PST

Would be cool to see an option to say only 1 ticket per pilot can be bought for things like giveaways. Say you wanted to do a giveaway of a nightmare and do 512 tickets total but it would only cost 1 isk per ticket kind of thing. Like a drawing more than a raffle. Would be nice to have that added along with several other already mentioned suggestions. This one might have been mentioned as well, don't know.

I know this would mean the poster is losing isk on the ship and the nodes, but that wouldn't be the point of these types of giveaways.
