Posted: 27 Mar 2020 12:47 PM PDT this is unacceptable, PvP is the leading cause of PvP related deaths in eve. This must stop. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Mar 2020 01:40 AM PDT The pyfa link in the wiki seems broken for me. If it isn't redirecting me to some sketchy "security" chrome extension it's just not working at all. I don't think it's me, I literally just finished installing windows a few hours ago, but just to check, is it working correctly for anyone else? [link] [comments] |

CCP Convict and Advanced Pod Technology Posted: 27 Mar 2020 01:55 PM PDT The Eve Pulse series features an in-character segment with u/CCP-Convict flying around in space. He dresses up in a sci-fi outfit, and the green screen behind him shows some kind of bridge or cockpit. The recurring joke of this segment is that CCP Convict always dies at the end. Of course, the likely explanation here is that having CCP Convict naked floating inside of a pod would be more expensive and possibly off-putting, but maybe there is more going on? If we interpret this segment as being cannon to the game world of EVE, it raises some important questions? Is CCP Convict a capsuleer, or a regular pilot? If CCP Convict is not a capsuleer (and we never see him escape the destruction of his ship in a pod), how does he return every week to hawk new skins? The first possibility does not require us to expand our understanding of EVE technology. CCP Convict might be a non-capsuleer pilot, as the visuals would suggest. This might explain why he so often meets an unfortunate end, as the capsule provides a major advantage in ship management. Further, since a reliable trans-neural scanner hasn't been shown to exist outside of a pod or a cloning facility, he must be restarting from a static backup. This might further explain his heedlessness, as each newly activated clone cannot benefit from any experience accumulated since the last backup. There are some other interesting possiblities. The invention of an internal neural scanner implant could allow non-capsuleers access to mind continuity cloning. Simulated reality might allow a capsuleer to perceive themselves, and to be perceived by others, as commanding the ship from a bridge, while they are actually floating in their pod (this fits with the image of his corpse that we see in the most recent Pulse). The most outlandish possibility is that CCP Convict has somehow acquired advanced technology that moves the current ship-interface functionality of the capsule into discrete implants. Any of these latter options could provide a rationale for a bridge/cockpit view, should CCP decide to give Walking in Stations another go. [link] [comments] |

Coming back after 2 years - ship moved? Posted: 28 Mar 2020 01:58 AM PDT It feels surreal to log back into Eve, after more than two years of not touching the game at all. Weird thing is, I very clearly remember where I logged off - an athanor in high-sec. I can see from my in-game notifications that the structure was unanchored about 9 months ago, and I've found myself in my ship now docked off in some dead-ass corner of null-sec. My best guess is that the game dumped me at my previous clone location since the structure I was docked in no longer exists? Has anyone else run into this situation? Is there some sort of appeal I can submit to get my ship moved, or am I stuck with putting it up on a firesale contract here and deathcloning myself back? I'd rather not lose the clone (implant$s$s), and the sentimental/functional value of the ship. Any advice would be appreciated, I feel like a brand newbro again with all the changes that have happened in my absence. Thank you capsuleers, o7 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Mar 2020 01:19 AM PDT Hey I'm looking for a video I watched a wile back it included a clip of a guy killing a rorqual with a solo ragnarok. Anyone know this video and have a link they can share? [link] [comments] |
