Posted: 25 Mar 2020 08:26 PM PDT I've been in a big null-sec bloc for the past 3 years. I've never mined spod in my entire life. I don't even rat much. I like scanning, blops, flying meme kitchen-sink ships in standing fleet and finding content via wormholes. Am I doing it wrong? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Mar 2020 11:21 AM PDT Journey of a thousand filaments AAR for a 5 man filament roam, March 23rd 2020 It was a cold day in New Eden, though, to be fair it's often on the chillier side in outer space. Regardless, our story starts with small and rather unobtrusive group of five ships slowly drifting near a small moon off of planet five in the Jita system, two Jackdaws, two svipuls, and a stiletto, amongst us one probe launcher, four remote reps and a small horde of needlejack fives. Chapter one; an adventure begins Holding our breath we took our first jump into the unknown, using a signal needlejack we found ourselves deep in Delve, we attempted a blitz of the system but quickly found ourselves with no ratters and plenty of goons looking to shoot us. With not much ceremony we tucked tail and tried to push through and away from their home system of 1DQ. We stopped on our way out to admire the sheer size of the goon trophy case of faction fortizars and keepstars. A sight akin to half finished Borg cube built by committee displaying the immense wealth of a vast swarm of drones that we were fully planning on plundering, if only in our small way. Despite the valiant attempt to shake our tails we continued to be followed, and though we did tackled one ratting myrmidon it MJDed away from us before we could land a scram, gracefully fleeing for our lives we found our way into a dead end system and took another filament to a continued adventure. Chapter 2: the desolation of noise filaments Taking a noise filament this time, we found ourselves right in the middle of Stain, a system well known for…. Well nothing, there is nothing in stain, and despite trying REALY hard to find SOME value to stain, there is none, if it disappeared tomorrow no one would notice… not even the people who's names appeared in local and ostensibly play in stain, they would not car either…. Fifteen minutes later, with no one in sight we gave up and filament out again. Chapter 3: The lion, the witch, and the wormhole Our paths took us across eve and into the venerable lands of the fabled scumlords of vale, I assume they are fabled, don't quote me on that one. Though far from their prime time we started to blitz though their systems looking for the hapless ratter or miner. Through sheer force of will and ability we were able to 5v1 a t1 small warp bubble but otherwise came up empty handed. Finally landing in the last system of a long pipe we landed on grid with a gila only to watch it get away from us the last moment. Turning around we find a VNI on the gate and through luck of habit our tackled accidentally jumped the gate to find a gate camp waiting for us on the other side. We quickly scattered within the system, fully expecting to warp around for the full 15 minutes when one of our pilots found that the one cosmic signature was a wormhole, and a small one at that. We jumped to attention, all landing on the hole we decided to fake it till we could make it and we screamed YEET into local as we jumped in the hole. The hole turned out to be rather empty and though for a moment we caught a venture on dscan we were left almost entirely unmolested. At the 10 minute mark we jumped back through the hole and into sumlord space to find an Anathema had finally found the hole and was sitting on it at 0, it scurried away and low and behold the Gila was back out ratting! I wish I could tell you the trick worked… and it kind of did… but the gila was off before we could land a disrupt and decided to roll the dice again and see where it would take… yelling our now customary YEETs into local (yeah we did it twice so it's a custom… so shoot me) we took a filament to our next adventure Chapter 4: Return of the Delve Having put delve, Stain, and Vale behind us we jumped through a new filament and found ourselves….. Back in delve…. Deciding to make the best of the situation we quickly hit our Dscans and to our delight a juicy Myrmidon showed up! Our trusty tackle got hold of him and grabbed a well placed drive-by scram to click off his MJD (that apparently all Myrms in delve have) and landed on grid. The poor sod melted so fast that we didn't get a chance to try out our shiny remote reps. (https://zkillboard.com/kill/82582229/) Dusting our hands in a very self-congratulatory way, we went one system out to continue the hunt and the world exploded, Local suddenly spiked by over 100 new players, sabres and interceptors landed on gate and a whole fleet of Eagles landed on top of us. Hearts pounding we started burning away, trying to pull out and into Fountain but the fleet kept following us. It took us maybe three jumps to realize that they were not chasing us… duh, right? …. Realzing the opportunity we stopped and pulled back to grab stragglers, with the majority of the fleet already passed we grabbed tackled on an eagle alone the gate, two more stragglers joined in as well but, with no FC the goons did not know what to do! They burned in close to our T3Ds but could not track, our remote reps holding vs their light drones. For a moment I looked like we were about to bag an eagle, but after some desperate calls of "Fight on gate! I need HAP on gate!" an impromptu response started landing on grid with us, we chose to stand behind the old adage "he who fights and runs away lives to fight another day!" and pulled off grid. Not to be outdone by some goons, we took a a quick chance to heal up and went back to the gate only to find the eagle fleet gone and a Cyno falcon calmly sitting on the keepstar. Overheating our belief we figured meh… we are we called blazing capsules for nothing? And Jumped the Falcon, burning him down way to quickly (later learning that he was…. Not quite fit with many modules….) But as he hit structure a Hel jumps through the cyno and lands on grid. Heart rate hits 200 bpm as we finish off the Falcon and GTFO. https://zkillboard.com/kill/82582571/ We tried to continue from this point up through fountain but after 20 min of hunting with no reward to yelled our now well established "YEET!" into local… another Adventure awaited us! Chapter 5 – The Seddow affair Taking a quieter approach we figured we could take it easy and jumped through a noise filament, landing in an empty system deep within Tribute…. Only to find that the system was in 30% TIDI (time dilation, meaning the server running the system was being overloaded). Wondering what could be the cause of the TIDI we scoured the systems and killboards and found that just 10 jumps away in Pure blind that same eagle fleet we had been toying with in Delve was now deep in an engagement with a joint force of Panfam and Wrecking crew. Far from home and not excited about a slog through highsec we figured we would join the brawl and take what we could get, set desto and started to burn. A side note here for anyone who has not experienced trying to race to a fight through 70% TIDI… it sucks…. As we pulled into pure blind we saw the battle turn as the killboard became more and more obviously filled with nothing but goon losses but we chose to push on! The content was head of us and we were going to find it! At this point our faithful stiletto, who had served so well on so many kills, pushed ahead and was caught by a sensor boosted Gnosis, may his wreck ever rest in pieces! Thank you Spanky![ https://zkillboard.com/kill/82583317/](https://zkillboard.com/kill/82583317/) But lo an behold, two jumps behind we ran into an old friend. Through the gate jumped a whole battalion of Zealots, burning home fat with loot and content with a battle well won and pulling up the rear was Seddow himself. Now for those who may not know, Seddow is known as one great FCs of eve at the time of this expedition, he lead many of a Legacy coalition fleet to smashing victories only to one day turn table and leave the Legacy coalition to join Wrecking crew and lead the fight against his old home, we, being legacy members ourselves, have a thing for Seddow (and if you are reading this Seddow… Hi!). Caution to the wind we grab his Zealot and though one other stays behind to attempt to assist him (and their valiant attempts to tracking disrupt my rocket jackdaw) the beams on the cruisers just could not track our little dessies and the remote reps held long enough for us reorganize the HACs into space scrap. Good fight bud! Sorry for ruining the victory lap! https://zkillboard.com/kill/82583336/ https://zkillboard.com/kill/82583342/ But our adventure in Pure Blind were not over! We still had some payback for our friend, moving forward another system we jumped right into the Gnosis who had taken out our stiletto, took him and his dual webbed hull tanked, gank fit, and left it for the salvagers to plunder. To be quite frank though, that gnosis was probably the toughest fight of the night, remote reps and all one of our folks ended the fight with about 4% of his shields left. We cleared his bubble and moved on to find safes as we waited for our venerable cepter pilot to reship in highsec and rejoin the crew. https://zkillboard.com/kill/82583376/ They did form up for us, a praxis, sabre, VNI and some other ships joined the system to look for us, but with no combat probes in site we waited out our timers, and numbers replenished (and loot saftied out of system) we called out our YEET!s in local and plunged into our next adventure Chapter 6: 3 Delve, 3 Furious. To be fair it had been quite a while since we had last visited delve, almost an hour at this point, so it was a welcome relief to find ourselves surrounded by angry bees in titans again. As the sense of familiarity set in we proceeded to quickly move around into the local systems looking for a trophy Myrm or Gila to top off the night when lo and behold, we found nothing short a Nightmare, the "Top dog of delve ratting" if you may, sometimes referred to as the "king krab", or the "giant painful space poop". The stiletto got hold of him in short order but to our dismay he got his MJD active too quickly and as we landed on grid we found ourselves over 100km away from our prize. Then he did what any sensible nightmare ratter would do when faced with the possible loss of a 1billion isk ship…. He waited for his 10 mil isk navy praetor drones to return to his ship before attempting to warp off. Long story short, tachyon beams don't track well vs destroyers and Delve became one nightmare smaller. https://zkillboard.com/kill/82583595/ The night getting late we chose to screw it and keep looking for kills, but quickly found ourselves in a dead end system, attempting a blitz to get out we lost one Jackdaw on a gate and got separated with three of us in one system and one Svipul stuck on its own in the dead end. As the goons set up a bubble on the gate between us we could practically hear them congratulating themselves with tales of how we would have to come through one way or another to get out… lots of "Haha! We got them now!"s to be sure. Rather then fall into the trap of the self-fulfilling prophecy we chose to split our fleet in half, the stiletto running back to the stranded svipul with a filament, we chose to roll our fates and filament in two groups and attempt to regroup once we were safe. https://zkillboard.com/kill/82583730/ Obviously we didn't yell YEET into local this time… cus that's old news and no one does that anymore, we held our breath as two tunnels took half the fleet each to our fates Long story short both filaments landed us in blue space within 9 jumps of our home system. Final tally 281.76 mill lost 2.23 bil killed Op success [link] [comments] |

Discord leaks your email address Posted: 25 Mar 2020 06:45 AM PDT Hi, after recently trying out SeAT, I found out that when connecting with your Discord account it gives your accounts email address as your "Unique ID".
Personally I would change my Discord accounts email address to a dedicated email account, that cannot be linked to your personal real life information. ----- EDIT: After checking "Discord->User Settings->Authorized Apps", I realised that I had apparently given the "Access your email address"-permission to the Seat Connection bot, myself. Although I usually wouldn't miss that, it goes to show you should always double-check which permissions you give. I apologise if this has reflected badly on SeAT, since I wrongly assumed that the information was given by mistake from Discord. I'll try to find out why it is actually used, since it still strikes me as odd to use it in an EvE related project. Main point still stands though: I wouldn't use my personal email address for Discord, but use a dedicated one instead. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Mar 2020 08:58 PM PDT Recently I got around to training Hacking to level V. The past year I've just been concentrating on relics and creating contracts to sell blueprints that I find. Since I worked one day last week and one day this week I've had plenty of time to read about industry, blueprint copying, and invention. It's kinda fascinating and well it's a lot of info to process. Perfect way to kill time. I ran a job (for the heck of it) on a T1 print and while I knew I wasn't going to make much I really enjoyed the process. So I've got about 10 days before I get my final toon trained up to colonize a 6th planet (which funds most of my adventures.) Then I'm going to devote a couple months to start working on the science related skills I will need for Invention. In the meantime I'm no longer passing up data sites and instead of selling blueprints, datacores, and decryptors I'm storing them for much later. I love this game. There's just so much depth. Always something new to learn. [link] [comments] |

CCP chose the worst time for the faction warfare update. Posted: 26 Mar 2020 02:29 AM PDT The Gal/Cal warzone has been completely pushed. There is very little fighting happening, which means there are less people to actually use the Plex mechanics changes. The reason for this is because the tier system is completely broken. You will never have a meaningful resurgence of FW until the tier system is addressed. [link] [comments] |

I'm not up to date with computers, I'm of the generation that used to buy computer active magazines. Can anyone suggest a pc with 2 monitors if possible that will run eve on the highest settings please. [link] [comments] |
