I wish it was possible to scan for wrecks

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 08:30 AM PST

During the last few days I've been scanning hisec systems with a few newbie buddies, just until they are comfortable enough to enter wormhole space. We brought combat probes as well.

The amount of loot that is never picked up at all (not just wrecks, but also actual loot) is insane. I'm not sure why some PvE players don't collect it, maybe it's too much work for regular missions runners - but there was lots of Triglavian loot simply despawning as well.

It's such a bummer that there aren't special probes to scan down wrecks/loot properly and pinpoint the exact location. I did some salvaging back in the days and I'd be back at it in an instant if this would be implemented.

Because I didn't have much to do, I actually tried to triangulate the wreckage; but it just takes too long since one has to drop tons of bookmarks to create "warp points" to approach the location through many iterations.

At one point I had about 150 bookmarks in place and I think I almost got the spot, roughly 40k km to go, but then the wrecks despawned - I still had tons of fun though, it was an interesting challenge.

So in theory one could actually find those wrecks, but it's totally inefficient. I think it took me about two hours just to get within a 100k km radius, simply because most of these sites don't spawn near any relevant structures or celestial objects.

To be completely honest, having special probes to scan these locations down would make it too easy - and I truly enjoyed this scavenger hunt. I had to be smart about placing bookmarks, had to be creative to create "lines" to approach the location step by step, meanwhile using dscan and probes for triangulation.

Even though I simply wasted my time and didn't get anything out of it, it felt great and it was a long time ago I got so excited about something as trivial as this in EVE.

I wish - maybe if wreck scanner probes are out of the question - some sort of content that requires dedication and lots of patience would be cool to have. Imagine you chase down a location for 4 hours straight and then get rewarded with some nice loot for the effort. You'd have to develop some actual skills instead of just warping to some object.

Anyways, whoever isn't picking up their loot these days - I hope you can sleep at night.

CCP next QoL Patch PLEASE oh PLEAS

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 01:04 AM PST

Make modules (individually) retain their overheat setting after a single cycle trigger.

Flying a double/dual rep ship is a nightmare as you have to press FOUR hotkeys to get a single cycle out of your reps (while manually piloting at the same time). First to trigger them, then to re-heat them because your heat de-activates after a cycle unless the module is on auto-repeat.

Currently you can only LOCK module overheat status via a clunky dropdown menu but it applies to ALL modules (and it's a LOCK, not status preservation) and thus you will either burn your prop or not be able to overheat your prop = dead either way.

This should also apply to any event which forcefully disables your module (scram vs. mwd, ECM vs turrets etc).

To me it's unthinkable this hasn't been fixed in a game that's almost two decades old. This should be your #1 QoL priority, just like modern airplanes do not have their autopilot turned off every 5 minutes. The decision to heat should ALWAYS be in control of the player, not the game.

Is it possible to keep range with Damaviks in Abyssal 5 tier?

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 12:45 AM PST

I've been playing abyssal dark 5 tiers with my frigate alts several times. but this wave was so huge.

There were 4 anchoring Damaviks which are not in screenshot.

First I tried to orbit the gate at current position. but speed of the damaviks were so fast that my hawk FC (which has speed of 4200m/s with low-grade snake set) were caught by them. Then my mwd shut down.

Killed anchorings but there were 5 starving damaviks. After killed 3 of them, remote repair of others were so strong that i couldn't penetrate the tank of the fourth starving damavik.

After this failure, I just wondered how to keep range with damaviks. If anyone knows how to, it would be nice to help me.

t2 ship excel/spreadsheet , from components to reactions and everythin

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 01:44 PM PST

i have one that i found, but its not up to date, and seems broken

i want to build some t2 ships, i already invented the ones i want

but to be profitable it seems i need to do some mining( no problem ) , then do reactions manufacture different components and everything

anyone know a good tool for this purpose, that elaborates all the manufacturing costs of each tier

    Exploration Statistics Project(Info Request)

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 05:54 PM PST

For a simple finances project I'm using Eve as base, cause I think it would be fun. I'll need multiple entries, so support would be great. We all know when it comes to exploration, it is an absolute wild card, but statistically there is still an average line.

So for this project I'd like to ask for a few pieces of information:

    1) What is the approximate total time you go exploring in eve per week.

    2) What is your AVERAGE weekly income from just exploration.

    3) What sites do you tend to do most/sec
