Anyone affected by the boot.ini bug from 2007 ? Posted: 17 Mar 2020 01:38 PM PDT Hi there I am working on a podcast covering software bugs and found out about this bug and find it really fascinating. I was wondering if anyone here was actually affected by it. Would love to talk to you if you were. Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Mar 2020 09:36 AM PDT It's been about 14 days since BNB struck out on it's own from TEST. So far, we've been mostly availing ourselves of local content, as we get lots of roaming gangs and similar stuff coming through. Despite the big change for the relatively quiet and dull land of Esoteria, it's been an injection of life for everyone- the number of active people feels like it's doubled. We've been getting some of that old fleet fight practice in, getting folks used to sitting in roles they haven't sat in on small scale fights in quite a while. Hurricanes appear to be a popular doctrine amongst some of the groups poking their way into Vale. Of course there's been a few whelps along the way, but you can scour zkill for those yourself :P The constant roaming gangs have been some good content too. Pretty much all the neighbors have stopped by, and plenty more besides. Lussy Lou stopped by once, and while they got the best of us on round one, on round two we managed to get the upper hand. We didn't do quite as well versus the Goryn Clade boys, sadly. Too many snake pods. Of course, being an nullsec alliance with more than 7 people in it means you get wardecced by PIRAT. So, we decided to make the wardec a little more expensive by giving them a little Jita Surprise. Anyone know how many weeks it will take them to pay for this little oopsie killing newbro domis and T1 haulers? All in all, it's been a pretty good time. People are learning, and learning fast. As they do it just means more fun, as we get into bigger and cooler doctrines and small gang ships. If you have a fleet and you're in the area, stop on by! We'll try and form if we're awake. Cheers! I want to wish Lykie a happy birthday Posted: 17 Mar 2020 01:12 PM PDT ARR: Provi ended the party Just want to share the birthday wishes with our esteemed member Lykie who has been complaining about his super being alive for too long. He went down with honour to a dirty Provi drop, he was hoping for a good condor kill or maybe an atron or two. Sadly the party ended pretty quick when provi realised he was reinforcing an Athanor in Misaba. This just goes to demonstrate that CVA and Provibloc in general is not after good fights, I mean a frigate response or some feroxes would have been a more appropriate response, but sadly they killed the content as dirty as they could with immediate super and HFI drop. This is just another example of provi only undocking when they have a guaranteed kill, unlike when they refused to fight 2:1 when siege green came to have some fun with us. Anyway here is the killmail https://zkillboard.com/kill/82383637/ FOUND A SCREENSHOT! https://i.imgur.com/rUcf7nE.jpg [link] [comments] |

Returning player looking for others willing to reteach. Posted: 17 Mar 2020 04:19 PM PDT Hello everyone, I haven't played in well over a year and when I was playing I didn't get the chance to get to know others so I mainly learned on my own. Now that I want to get back into EVE I don't remember much and don't want to become overwhelmed by playing alone again. Any advice on corps I should apply to? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
It seemed like there was a large fight in Rilera Posted: 17 Mar 2020 09:42 AM PDT https://fleetcom.space/battlereport/C25eTZeb6GjKwB4dn According to the battlereport, it seems that a Goon Fortizar was anchoring so Pandafam and allies came and attempted to kill it. The Imperium dropped 47 carriers, an Eagle fleet, and a Muninn fleet to defend the fortizar. The total lost is 87.1b and the fortizar is killed. Correction: The Fortizar was anchoring instead of in its final timer,Thanks u/Mr_Morukov [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Mar 2020 12:18 PM PDT Greetings! My friends and I are recently back to playing EVE after a very long hiatus. We moved out to low sec in an effort to increase profits but found that the ore belts are either gone or extremely anemic. From what I've read, this is intended behavior? The advice given is to simply kill them and totally screw your faction with the given corporation that owns them. I do not see this as sustainable as faction can take a significant amount of time to recover. My crew is rather small and I don't think we can handle the response fleets. If we do manage to kill them, how long does it take for them to come back? It seems that anom mining and setting up a moon operation are the only viable alternatives. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
