High-Sec is a very strange place. Someone apparently autopiloted a fleet of Orcas and left them on the gate (presumably with the dialogue box open to confirm entering a Triglavian Invasion system).

About that reimbursed Hogs Collective bumper machariel. Interesting chat log from the kill

After losing his bumper machariel while trying to bump people, JunTuu wrote this in local:

    [ 2020.04.19 19:03:11 ] JunTuu > gf

    [ 2020.04.19 19:03:45 ] JunTuu > good trade. I am okay with that.

Apparently he was fine with the loss. Then he asked for it to be reimbursed.

As for the first HC orca kill, the one that HC members have constantly gloated was reimbursed...

    The eve community.

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 07:00 PM PDT

Since 2017, ive been debating whether to start playing eve or not, and then 4 months ago, i decided "You know what? Why not be a part of something that has made worldwide news, who's wars have been breaking gaming history."

So i download eve, and begin playing.

And after 4 months, I've come to a conclusion, and would like to say something.

You guys are absolutely amazing, and i love every one of you.

I honestly don't believe that there is a better game community than the eve one.

The people that i've met, the things that they've done to help out a new player, when most other RPGs would be like "Oh you're new? Good luck."

When i first started, I met someone, (i think they are an alt, and if you're reading this and you aren't, I sincerely apologize.) I had zero clue what i was doing, and he helped me make a good ship fit (which I saved), and taught me the basics of pvp and what I would need to do to survive in new eden, gave me some ISK and told me good luck.

In the four months I've been playing eve, and the two corps I've been a part of, they've honestly been an amazing learning experience, and I'm so happy i decided to just go and play eve one day.

I honestly hope that I get good enough at playing eve one day to help out some newbie.

tl:dr Thank you eve community for being so f**king amazing and kind to new people.

Deaf person here. How about playing EvE without voice chat?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 08:48 PM PDT

Technically, I'm merely hard of hearing, but the important part shakes out the same: I flat out cannot understand others through voice chat. I have zero problems carrying out a conversation in Discord or wherever, though.

So...can I communicate with corps and groups entirely through text chat stuff? I've never played EvE, so I don't know what the general community expectations are - will people expect everyone to be available for voice chat? Could I hope to be part of a pirate or mercenary task force while communicating strictly through text?

    Pakkonen Azbel Orgy

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 04:25 PM PDT

Seeing INIT loosing a Fortizar in Hakonen against a massive blob our warchief Tau AD thought it was time to offer a fair fight and he pinged for brave warriors to login. We undocked in Machariels and Triage. When we arrived at our destination there was no one there and we started shooting the Azbel. After about 10 minutes of the most exciting gameplay eve online has to offer hope was finally on the horizon. INIT was spotted speeding towards us with a fleet of Sacrileges, Ashimus and Drekavacs and we prepared for the legendary battle that was about to unfold.

Because triage is very balanced now and there is shitall you can do about neut we fed our initial triage while we also brought in HAW dreads to start working on the enemy fleet. Having been traumatized by booshers again and again in the past we managed to mostly keep init booshers at bay and stay in triage range while slowly chopping away enemy ships.

It was after eliminating most of the enemy neuting power, that our scouts reported anoter fleet from V0lta making their way out of the depths of thera towards us. We decided to stay since our triage was mostly holding for now and we were still getting kills. Once V0lta arrived with what looked like 100 booshers and 10 sacrileges they got some successfull booshes off and we lost some ships.

At this point our leader hy wanto appeared out of nowhere and because his internet connection was shit as usual he started ragepinging for more brave warriors. Also thank you to whoever noticed azbel was no longer paused and allowing us to catch the timer, pausing it at 23 seconds letf. To make sure the Azbel would die we would focus all the subcap fire on there while our HAW dreads were still working on the enemy fleet.

Eventually the Azbel died and we could focus all fire on enemy ships again, resulting in us getting some more kills, but also loosing some more to booshers or spearfishing. After trading blows for a bit longer we decided to regroup subs and extract shortly after. GoodFight to everyone involved.

Options for solo players wanting a base?

    Posted: 29 Apr 2020 02:50 AM PDT

    Hey guys!

Basically, I want an opinion on some stuff because I was thinking about this after reading a post about EVE Echoes. Basically in Echoes they are getting some new structure called a "Capsuleer Outpost" which is a limited "base" designed for solo or small groups of capsuleers. I was wondering just as an experiment, what would be the best way to replicate this in EVE Online right now?

Obviously it has to be: 1. Cheap 2. Cost effective (features) 3. Able to accommodate a solo player's needs in different areas of space (highsec, lowsec, WHspace)

Obviously there are a couple options: - Mobile depot/other deployable spam - POS (not sure which modules you could/should use, never used a pos) - Cheap Citadel like Raitaru or Astrahus (problem with this is that it is slightly overkill, draws a lot of attention, costs a lot more than other options and just doesn't feel very solo-player friendly due to its size, also costs a lot in fuel)

What are your ideas and what would you do? This is a bit like a poll, I might try making a new alt and starting from scratch to see how fast I can get to owning whatever you guys come up with and see how it goes.

Feel free to discuss, argue ect.

Chikun coop causes colossal chaos culminating in countless cruisers crushed

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 01:02 PM PDT

We saw Kinakka locals gatecamping and decided to liberate them of their ships.

We dropped haw dreads like the oppressive assholes we are and swung our dicks around until something came out to play. They batphoned in a BNI fleet and some Phantasms showed up whilst the HAW dread happily shot away.

They brought 3 caps which were swiftly dealt with because caps are ruining the game. Our haw dread decided to insurance fraud because he had jdc0. We traded a nid for a dread, then some other locals showed up to make it a party for the whole neighbourhood.

After 90 minutes of fighting and a heap of subcap wrecks on both sides, we extracted and decided to go undock our rorqual fleet instead.

    Abyssal Guides

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 07:59 AM PDT

    o7 r/Eve!

With this skilling event getting people into the Abyss I wanted to toss this out there for anyone who needs it; the "Abyssal Lurkers" in game chat! Also the Abyssal Lurkers Discord.

There's a ton of resources in the MOTD and links to some helpful stuff. On top of that the chat is filled helpful chatty people willing to help and answer questions about the Abyss.

The abyss is a different kind of PvE that can be harsh and unforgiving if you're not sure what you're doing, so use these resources!! It's open to everyone, so where you're brand new and need help or if you're experienced and want to be the one helping, there it is!

Get CCP - New players can't find anything to mine

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 11:17 AM PDT

I have been hanging out in rookie help on an alt and the most common question I am seeing over and over again is players not being able to find anything to mine.

This is probably because of the new changes with ore and people mining out there belts (probably also people not having the right overview selected). However a lot of these guys cant complete the career missions and get stuck a lot of the time and quit.

There a way CCP can lead some of these guys to an anomaly or something for this required materials that has a small amount. Or lead them to were there are belts. Most players cant find ore within 5 jumps of them.
