    Just curious to hear the reasons why some people picked one faction over the other.

    Initially i wanted to join triglavs, i'm all for turning hi-sec in a more lawless place yet i ran into a little issue - i normally hate PVE but having fought some triglavians earlier i happened to find myself actually enjoying how intelligently "relatively" they engaged vs the other factions, and in joining the triglavs i fear i'd ruin the one PVE enemy that i find fun.

    So i figured i'd grab some more concrete thoughts around here, appreciate any involved.

    Hi there, I first joined this game back at the end of 2015. I played for a while then real life took over and I became a father with little time for play. I have recently decided to give eve another shot, so I log in to my character to find him waiting for me in Aunsou III. With a fair few items in the bank there (mainly training books) Now here lies the problem. I'm sure when I left I had big plans - I had just joined brave newbies and I think I was set for either a life of exploration or piracy. I now I had been doing exploration and had been training in a number of things.

    I was wondering if anyone could look at the skills I've learnt and work out what the hell I was planning (or what my skills are pointing towards) I think I was heading towards covert ops? But I really have no clue!! I've had to play the intro quests etc again already on a new character just to learn the basics as I'd forgotten everything, I just don't want to waste my character who has 1.6 million skills on him (which seems a lot to do again) Anyway in order, here is what I have (or seems to be main skills)

    Calderi destroyer lvl 1 Calderi frig lvl 3 Gallente frigate lvl3 Minmatar destroyer lvl 2 Minmatar frig lvl4 Spaceship command lvl 4

    Navigation Acceleration control lvl 2 Afterburner level 4 Evasive manuvering lvl 3 High speed man level 3 Navigation lvl 3

    Engineering CPU man lvl 4 Cap man level 4 Capacitor systems op lvl 2 Energy grid up lvl 2 Power grid man lvl 4 Weapon upgrades lvl4

    Sorry for such a long post but does anyone know where these skills were headed or pointing towards? Am I far from covert ops? Is that still a good idea for exploration? As you can tell I really am lost in space and any help would be appreciated!! X

    I would love to see triglavian themed/based background for our potraits i want to truly be on their side :D
    And btw thx for the latest patches in my eyes, you are doing a way better job than before!

    I have just finished reading an article on an amazing accomplishment from another player in eve online.

    While I was inspired by the article, and I have played eve alot in the past. I would never call myself hardcore.

    Why?

    Well, Reading the article on PC gamer reminded me that I love eve, I love how intense it is, how much is at steak, and how people can lose everything due to a small trick.

    One thing I utterly cannot help but instintively hate about eve online, is multiboxing.

    In fact, it seems to me that multiboxing is far too encouraged in society today.

    Again, this is just a new player perspective, The most I did in eve was to farm up my own sub, once....

    But when I see that I cannot get into mining (profitably) without multiboxing.

    I cannot enjoy the new changes (to citadels) without multiboxing.

    It seems most high end gameplay in this game requires multiple accounts.

    To your average player, this is too much. Now, normally, I would accept a "fuckoff newb" as I am so new I dont have the experience to know the old players experience.

    I can only say, that the concept of players controling 10 ships at once, and that being the requirement to enjoy lucritive end game play...

    It does not seem to me like a recipe for new players and large populatins.. but rather a recipe for a nearly empty game where a few warlords enjoy fantasy battles with a bunch of bot controlled everything.

    Again, love eve, I just dont want to play a game that requires me to purchase multiple accounts just to access basic features like mining.

    Not starting shit, just noting that, while eve is impressive, to the non hardcore it just looks like two fat dorks blowing each others clone accounts up and calling it a community.

    Maybe this is the fate of all games, where new players just dont really see the point in playing on a single account.

    ^ This is all to think out loud. this is not a strong point, I dont feel strongly. I dont even really care.. I was thinkin aloud.. if you bring shit my way, realize this first.

    So, I logged in for the first time in 8 years, and I don't even know where to start...

    I guess my biggest question is what are the biggest changes to the game that matter since I last played?

    Am I able to still reliably able to do anything like missions with a navy scorp and 4 bil isk, or is that nothing now... I don't know where to start.

    I also use to flip jetcans back in the day, and safe space hunt. Is that still a thing?
