Ignorance is bliss? The unspoken cost of PAPI’s galactic aggressions

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 02:00 PM PDT

Lost in the propaganda wars, buried under the opposing claims of winning the "Strategic Objective", or "the ISK war", lies the horrifying carnage caused by PAPI coalition's unwarranted assault on the Imperium homeland of Delve.

Imperium Skymarshal, Asher Elias, was recently interviewed and hinted at the sordid toll wrought upon New Eden by PAPI Coalition. Quoted in an article on polygon.com

"It won't come down to [in-game] resources," Asher said. "It never does, even at this scale. It's not going to be resources; it's going to be manpower."

    Manpower.

Outshined by the awesome power of the immortal capsuleer are the mortal crewmembers required to operate these engine of war. PAPI coalition's greedy and unseemly war of aggression against the Imperium has brought unspeakable suffering and death on both sides of the conflict. Within a matter of weeks this aggression has escalated with 5 significant battles that have tipped the scales of casualties to numbers previously unimaginable.

Using this crew statistics guide as a reference (http://wiki.eve-inspiracy.com/index.php?title=New_Eden_Crew_Guidelines) we can estimate the casualties caused directly by PAPI leadership's misguided search for fame. (This analysis assumes low end range of full crew compliment, and low end of survivability rate due to the perils of large fleet engagements)

    Location Event Crewmember deaths
    FWST-8 Keepstar #1 Destroyed Oct 5th 2.84M dead
    FWST-8 Keepstar #2 Destroyed Oct 7th 7.18M dead
    319-3D Keepstar #1 Destroyed Oct 11th 5.38M dead
YZ9-F6 Fortizar Armor Timer Oct 15th 4.96M dead
    319-3D Keepstar #2 Destroyed Oct 17th 7.99M dead
    12 day total 28.3M dead

From ancient Earth historian Mr. Wikipedia, whose archives were recovered in salvaged Terran databases we find that WWI caused 9-11M war related deaths over 4 years, and WWII caused 50-56M war related deaths over 6 years.

PAPI's leadership has forced New Eden to grapple with this same scale of devastation in the span of just 12 days. And yet their angry, vindictive, bloodthirsty leadership presses forward. It is the Imperium alone that stands before their hatred with the task of stopping this menace.

    1. To my counterpart line members within the PAPI coalition ranks: Check your moral compass, can you really support a leadership that pushes the cluster to these levels of horror and loss? What will you gain? What will your people lose? At some point there must be a reckoning for those responsible for this tragedy. How long can you maintain your defense of ignorance to the cost of this conflict? Notice the increasing frequency of departures from the PAPI ranks, might your comrades have realized the magnitude of the hour and concluded that they are not on the right side of this conflict?
    2. To PAPI leadership: Shame on you for the senseless devastation you've brought down onto your own ranks, and onto the human race across New Eden. You have attacked our homeland without true cause, and without a true plan, other than to murder millions of people for your own ego trip. Our hearts are hardened against your thoughtlessness. We cannot rest until you have been brought to justice for your crimes. For the good of humankind you must be stopped. And so, the rallying cry of the Imperium remains strong, ringing through the halls of our citadels, across the hulls of our warships, and onto the ears of entirety of New Eden: No matter the butcher's bill that must be paid, https://i.redd.it/2ut4h2bznkt51.png

'Horizon' Faction Fortizar dead in Delve

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 06:25 PM PDT

While it may not be a Keepstar/Feedstar/Deadstar, this is the first significant Goon structure loss in Delve.

Timer went uncontested. Does Fortress Delve only apply to 1DQ?

That's a lot of minerals... (Imperium losses in the four keepstar fights)

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 06:42 AM PDT

Was just playing with a spreadsheet analysing some numbers from the four keepstar fights (so, not including the Boson titans fight).

    For the purposes of my analysis I included the following Imperium losses across the four fights;

    • 823 capital ships
    • 4373 battleships
    • 1141 battlecruisers

    I assumed maxed out efficiency and arrived at the following total mineral losses;

    Trit 124,865,544,000
    Pye 29,434,311,000
    Mex 10,597,896,000
    Iso 1,892,927,000
    Noxc 1,680,325,000
    Zyd 3,132,832,000
    Mega 906,192,000
    TOTAL 172,510,027,000
    TOTAL m3 1,725,100,270

That's over 1,900 full freighters worth of minerals.

While I don't believe for a second that Imperium will run out of ISK, it seems reasonable to suggest that bottlenecks in the supply chain may reduce their ability to consistently defend with the present level of attrition.

The level of active manufacturing in Delve (1800 jobs started in 1DQ in 24 hours) suggests that stockpiles of BS and Dreads may already be low, and are being manufactured 'just in time'. Sustaining this level of attrition is a truly colossal logistical undertaking, and something that is very challenging indeed to maintain.

Dear CCP, I love the old map, please never remove it

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 01:41 PM PDT

Just like it says in the title I love how the old map system works in eve. It's fast, seems to take almost no resources to render and shows me everything I want to know without and silly flashbangs or whirly widgets. If only it had a similarly simple probing interface for scanning signatures.

    :)

    Question about probes

I've noticed a lot of videos in which people have probes or some sort of scanner fitted. How important is it to include them? What exactly are they for?

Petition to rename "Bookmarks/Locations" to "Coordinates" to create a more immersive space simulator.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 01:16 PM PDT

Anyone whose watched Star Trek or any other science fiction TV shows and movies, has heard the orders barked from the Captain "Set COORDINATES".

Renaming Bookmarks/Locations to help create a more immersive space simulator!

    For example:

FC: Please warp to the instant undock coordinates!

FC: Align to the 200km above coordinates!

Fleet member: Can someone please light a cyno at the station coordinates?
