Remember how you coded in that random hull alarm audio for Zkillboard? So every once-in-a-million refreshes it would play the hull alarm?

Yeah. Fuck you. You magnificent evil bastard.

The Worm - probably one of my favorite ships, ever.

    Posted: 16 Jul 2020 10:05 PM PDT

I use it mainly for PvE, but also PvP when I have a nice buffer of ISK - versatility is just one of the great things about it.

    My fit:

    [High Slots]

Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Light Missile

Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Light Missile

Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Light Missile

    [Mid Slots]

    Coreli A-Type 1MN Afterburner

    Gistum B-Type Medium Shield Booster

Gistum A-Type Thermal Shield Amplifier (for Serpentis rats)

    Republic Fleet Small Cap Battery

    [Low Slots]

    Drone Damage Amplifier II

Capacitor Flux Coil II (may seem weird but it got it stable, so whatever)

    [Rig Slots]

    Small Anti-Kinetic Shield Reinforcer II

    Small Capacitor Control Circuit II

Small Ionic Field Projector I (lets me project farther)

    [Drones]

    'Augmented' Hobgoblin x2

    'Augmented' Hornet x2

I've already got it pretty blinged out. The fit is very tight on both CPU and PWG. However, with decent skills (all relevant skills to at least IV) I'm getting almost 260 DPS with Augmented Hobs and CN missiles. With Fury I get nearly 280. I'm training all relevant skills to V so that I can maximize efficiency as much as possible.

This ship is my money maker. It sees me through DED sites all the way from 1/10 to 5/10 - not to mention unrated sites and their subsequent expeditions. Even blinged out as it is, this ship has paid for itself and then some.

The next steps are to swap both lows to a Federation Navy Drone Damage Amplifier and the missile launchers to Caldari Navy versions. Then I'll run some 4 or 5% cap implants to make up for the lost Flux Coil. I will also likely run some missile implants too. I'm going to have a clone specifically for this ship to eke every last drop of performance I can out of it. Who knows, maybe I'll run some Low- or Mid-Grade Crystals too and see if I can push up to 6/10s. The best thing about all of this is, the work and ISK I put in here will also largely be effective for the next steps up, the Gila and Rattlesnake.

    Day Seven: Triad Princes

    Posted: 16 Jul 2020 09:09 AM PDT

I am attempting to post an end-of-the day report each day of the war so far called World War Bee II. I'm attempting to catalog the various skirmishes and events in a simple easy-to-read format. While there are many layers to any conflict, some not seen and others showing themselves in various chat channels and propaganda, I would like to give the most people possible a layman's understanding. I have done my best to give the best battle reports and context but if you would like to submit corrections or feedback, please DM me on Discord at January Valentine#9887. If you like, check out my new blog: https://somethingyoushouldknow.substack.com/ where I'll be cross-posting this and other stories I find interesting.

Fraternity anchors the first beachhead structure in Fountain, paying severely for it when Goonswarm forces arrive to contest the Panfam fleet. In Aridia, Panfam are slowly chipping away at Imperium structures in the area and two suspicious titan pilots die in Devoid.

    • Fountain Beachhead Anchored Sparks Bloody Skirmish At approximately 1300UTC July 11th on the gate grid of the Hophib gate in D4KU-5 in Fountain, a small fleet of Zealot and Deimos heavy assault cruiser with 4 Zarmazd logistics under Fraternity fleet commander Meelah Ra, anchored an Azbel engineering complex. Quite soon after the deployment timer had finished, Panfam forces had come in with approximately 280 Munin heavy assault cruiser fleet and a small Harpy assault frigate fleet from Pandemic Horde and warped to the L-A5XP gate to cut off the responding The Initiative Zealot forces. The Pandemic forces would have had no problem engaging the Zealot fleet but they were met with overwhelming Sacrilege and Jackdaw reinforcement forces from The Imperium that had arrived with them. Due to a piloting error, the Fraternity fleet, now with two Apostles, had landed after the Panfam forces had retreated and were quickly bubbled and killed. Due to the new rules regarding anchoring upwell structures in sov nullsec, only L-sized structures - Fortizar, Azbel, Keepstar, Tatara or Sotiyo could be anchored in the system where the ADM is 4 or higher by any entity not in the alliance that owns the system. The Panfam forces lost an overwhelming 23.2b over 144 ships to the Imperium defenders, who lost 9.7b over 71 ships. Panfam forces have another excursion around nine hours later to entosis the Taurus constellation, this time the odds were more in their favor as they only lost 5.2b to Initiative's 302 ship loss totalling 19.6b. Throughout the day, they would hold a gate camp around the Hophib gate, having smaller skirmishes like this battle report shows throughout the day. In KVN-36 earlier in the day, a large Eagle and Munin heavy assault cruiser fleet led by Pandemic Horde's Alphastarpilot and Northern Coalition.'s Spotlessblade skirmish with The Initiative Zealot fleet, possibly over the Anisiblex jump gate on-grid with the Keepstar. The Panfam forces only lost 14 ships worth 867mill to 4.5b over 113 ships by the defending Initiative.
    • Two Imperium Fortizars Killed in Aridia Two timers were set in D4KU-5, the staging Initiative Fortizar armor timer and the hull timer on the Ansiblex jump gate connecting to Initiative's main staging in IGE- . However, the Panfam forces moved south and killed an Imperium fortizar in Fobiner. The first one killed that day was at approximately 0100 and was in Hophib at the D4KU gate.
    • Siege Green skirmish with Ranger Regiment In TCAG-3, a fleet composed mostly of Retribution and Wolf assault frigates with Deacon frigate logistic frigates and a large Munnin gang from Siege Green fight a mixed fleet of Zealot, Muninn, and Augoror Navy Issue belonging to Ranger Regiment and Dracarys. The fleet commander of the Siege Green Muninns was Errestrian, who previously fought a small Imperium gang in V-LEKM in the region of Querious three days earlier. The opposing fleet commander was Drone Wang of Ranger Regiment who has made several appearances in this theatre. The Siege Green/Legacy forces did not have the advantage, neither numbers or fleet counter, and lost 2.6b over 60 ships to Imperium defenders 1.7b in losses over 41 ships. Crossing over to G-M4GK, they do a little better on the Legacy side of the regional gate and manage to destroy a remnant of the fleet.
    • Two Titans die trying to cross Arida Two titans - A Ragnarok and Avatar Titan die in Sosan, moving through Devoid. At first glance it looks like they were Pandemic Horde pilots but comments suggest they were moving their titans out of Fountain when their corporation Godless Horizon. was in The Initiative. They were killed by known supercapital hunting groups The Ivana Trading Federation, Verge of Collapse and WE FORM V0LTA.

    CCP removed the intro story?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2020 07:58 PM PDT

So I hear that CCP at some point in the past went and removed this entirely from the game:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T84nrp08MWo

For thousands of us this was our introduction to eve. It was and still is fantastic. Why just remove amazing lore from a game like this? Is there any chance we can convince them to put it back?

Carrier pilots of reddit: Why do you choose carriers?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2020 09:44 PM PDT

Let me preface this by saying I think carriers and supercarriers are the coolest ships in eve. The unique mechanics, fighter management, and application options that can be swapped on the fly just fascinate me. My issue is that dreads just seem to outclass carriers in... most ways other than range.

I'm not making a post bitching about ship balance, as I simply haven't sat in one before... I just want to know before I spend literally months working towards one. Why carriers? What role do they serve that couldn't be more effectively served by a dread? Is the only benefit to carriers the skill overlap with supers at this point in the meta?

Unpopular opinion ? Arena are great, and better to come

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 01:19 AM PDT

(no it's not u/stainedGuy . I went to the laundry.)

I did not do a single arena. Yet I consider that THIS is what people need in Eve and that CCP is going a very clever way, as the arena concept

    • is bringing in fast consumable affordable PVP action. No more waiting 3H to make a fleet, and find nothing ; or roaming 30j to find bots, docking as soon as you are in system.
    • is bringing consensual PVP with limits. Yes it's fun to hide in a cloaked super in LS and shoot people that land on the medium plex gate, but after people know that's what you do, they just don't want to and you do nothing. People need to have they are struggling in a FAIR environment, and that's what limits bring in.
    • as you may have noticed : CCP is WORKING on it, improving it little by little. The job they need is small to maintain them, and the reward in term effect on the player base is, IMO, the most effective one.
    • is making the IX / alliance tournament again. Not kidding, CCP are creating the tools to make both on-demand and tournament-specific PVP action. The issue with previous tournament is that it needed specific tools, designed specifically for that tournament, and so the cost of maintaining those tools was too high. If those tools are used for casual Eve action, then it's totally worth it to maintain them. What I mean is that PVP arena are an interesting way for CCP to … capitalize? on the development of tournament tools.
    • avoid stale meta thanks to rotation of format. Of course, assuming the formats are updated regularly ^
    • I am industrialist. the amount of production/destruction from the PVP arena is approx equal to the amount for the ward between GEWN and PAPI. I mean, it's better to have INTERESTING destruction for players rather than forced destruction like CCP has been trying to do. It's always better when your clients hit themselves on the head and thank you for providing the bat, rather than when you are hitting them.
