Poor Wormholer Killed By Filthy Blobbers

    Top Damage

    https://zkillboard.com/kill/86525691/

And there I was, in nothing but what god had graced me with upon my birth, the beautiful golden Amarr Tactical Destroyer laboring away at my one goal in life, when all of a sudden a bright white flash of light illuminates the area behind me, and in cometh these filthy machines of war I had heard so many grave tales about. Lost in the moment I attempted to hurry and finish my work, but to no avail, as terrible minions surrounded me and attempted to take my life. In an instant I was gone but had not given up for my prize was still within reach. Seconds later I pulled my ship around and flew directly back into deaths grasp for a chance at my reward. I held her closely in my arms and attempted to run, but those terrible dogs of war gave no ground and burned me where I stood. Now hear my tale and answer me this, for what good is war when it causes such loss?

TL;DR saw an Officer kill on zkill, bought a kitey Confessor, flew over through Thera, got it to 30% armor then a cyno brought in 3 thanatos. Tried to swipe loot after it died but got caught warping to the bookmark I was already sitting on.

    In praise of the Sunesis

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 07:21 AM PDT

    The prince of High/LowSec

Specifically for the NewBros I want to point out why the Sunesis is the most versatile T1 destroyer out there.

    - No skill requirements to fly it ... cheap to buy (9m ISK)

    - Role bonuses mean you get an instant 25% damage boost to all turrets and missile/rockets and 50% bonus to drone hitpoints & damage without having to increase any racial ship skill

    - Easily the largest Cargohold of any Frigate/Destroyer (>1200m3 in travel fit) - https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Travel_fits - especially handy now that Highsec is turning into Lowsec

    - Sub 2s align-time means you're unlockable before warp-out (carefull for smartbombs / bubbles though)

    - Warp fast as hell @ >7.5au/s (with three T2 Hyperspatials rigs fitted)

    - Did more for the little guy than Vily ever did

    - Balanced high/mid/low (4/4/4) slot arrangement

    - Good PvP entry ship

    - Want to do some Exploration? (Slaps roof) This bad boy comes with a 37.5% scanner probe strength role bonus

Just try it and you won't be disappointed. I got several lying around New Eden and use them every other day for various things for over a decade!

patch is breaking clients in space jfyi

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 09:46 AM PDT

Clients are currently breaking randomly in space. Your capacitor and modules will disappear and you will be unable to right click on overview/possibly in space. You may also not see objects in space, dreads in siege will appear unsieged, moons disappear, etc. To fix you can try setting destination to a citadel and turning on autopilot (Ctrl-S to enable) as taking a gate can fix the bug. Relogging fixes the issue for some, but not all.

[Niarja] How to Avoid Being Destroyed by the Triglavians

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 11:15 PM PDT

    https://zkillboard.com/ship/54577/

I've noticed many people attempting to run the blockade in Niarja without any positive standings with the Triglavian Collective.

    It's not going to work.

While the Entropic Disintegrator Werpost (Steve) no longer insta-locks, there are large Triglavian fleets that roam the system and especially like hanging out by the star gates. The best way to reduce the risk, and get through unscathed, is to gain positive standing with the Triglavian Collective.

The system of Ambeke is currently in "Stellar Reconnaissance" and is an excellent place to farm standing by completing EDENCOM Forward posts, combat sites in the system designed to be completed in small gangs. These sites can be found on the probe scanner but do not need to be scanned down.

If the star system returns to an EDENCOM minor victory, the sites will remain and it will be an excellent system to farm both standing with the Triglavian Collective and ISK.

Kybernaut CEO Ashterothi has created several fits capable of soloing these sites (Solitaire) or completing them in small groups (Mosaic). Anti-Gallente EDENCOM ships are "Emerald".

    Safe flying out there!

    Worldwarbee.com update

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 07:24 AM PDT

First I wanted to thank people for their support the community response was very positive and you all offered a lot of good advice. Today I pushed a second(ish) iteration of worldwarbee some new features include:

I opted to allow anyone to submit a BR without any ESI authentication because people always seem worried about spying. All submitted BR's are reviewed before being published. Please don't troll this too hard.

There's still a list of features I have planned:

    • Page for Goon JF ganking.
    • Improved Mobile formatting
    • Inspired by goon-snackdaws, graphs and metrics for each ship type and warring party.
    • Searchable field to quickly lookup ship type, alliances, locations.
    • Multiple pages since I currently on access the 200 most recent kills.
    • Denote Important objectives and battles

Of course I'm always open to more feedback!

A Newbro's Guide to High-sec Combat Exploration - Steps to get Started

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 10:35 AM PDT

Combat exploration can be one of the most lucrative and enjoyable careers, especially when you're relatively new to the game and aren't in a big player corp/alliance that will PvP with you. I can regularly earn $50m ISK per hour exploring in the right areas with the right ship; and the best thing about it is, you can do it solo, and don't have to wait for fleet or corp to get everything ready.

A basic overview of what this is can be found here. This guide is meant to help capsuleers new to this profession get started and begin earning big ISK.

    Steps to get started:

    1. Buy and fit an appropriate ship. Those with little ISK or hard skills can start with a T1 cruiser, which will fit into Lookout unrated complexes and above, and DED 3/10 complexes and above. They have suitable tank and good offensive skills. The most popular T1 ships for this role from each faction are the Gallente Vexor, because of its drones; the Caldari Caracal, because of its missiles; the Minmatar Rupture, because of its solid tank and high-power projectile turrets; and finally, for Amarr, either the Arbitrator (drone) or Omen (lasers). Once you start skilling up and have a bit of ISK in the bank, you can graduate to a navy faction cruiser (Vexor Navy is very strong for this due to its repair bonus, enhancing its tank), a pirate faction frigate (Worm is pretty awesome and it's one of my daily drivers), or a pirate faction cruiser (Orthrus and Gila are both great options, with the Phantasm being the third most popular). Do not use battlecruisers and above, as they cannot fit into Lookouts and 3/10s that spawn frequently in hi-sec space.
    2. Find a deserted space pocket, far from trade routes. I use 10-jumps from any trade route as a rule of thumb. Sec status should be 0.8 and lower, as this will allow 3- and 4/10s to spawn. Triglavian Victory systems are the ultimate for this - rarely anyone runs sites there, and in some such systems you might find a dozen or more signatures and/or anomalies. In one such system I found 3 consecutive 4/10s, two Lookouts, and one 3/10 that netted me nearly 700 million ISK.
    3. Take your newly-fit ship out and test-drive it. Make sure you come to terms with what it can do and what it cannot do. Take risks initially - just make sure you bring some Exile or Blue Pill with you depending on how you are tanked. You will eventually get a feel for your ship and its capabilities, and know what is within its limits and what is pushing it too hard. For example, my pimped Worm (~300m ISK) can do everything up to Watches and 4/10s, but stumbles and trips over itself in Vigils and 5/10s - I just barely got out of a Vigil with 30% structure one time, and I'm not ever going to try 5/10s again because of those damn stasis towers.
    4. Go out there and earn ISK. $50m an hour, people, or even more if you're doing it properly. There is a bit of luck involved, but it evens out (sometimes you'll get $500m from a single site, for example, and other times you'll have a run of only OPEs). I always end up around that $50m/hr average.
    5. As your bank account grows, continue to upgrade, and make sure you pursue other activities too. Combat exploration can be lucrative and exciting, but sometimes you just need a break - factional warfare or wormhole exploration, for example. I do FW in my spare time when I have a nice buffer of ISK in the bank -- around 500m ISK uncommitted is the rule I play by. About upgrading, I think I touched on this earlier: the general upgrade path is T1 Cruiser --> Navy Faction Cruiser and/or Pirate Frigate --> Pirate Cruiser, or possibly HAC.

Hope this helped new/prospective combat explorers along their path to in-game riches. If I missed anything, let me know and I'll edit it in.

Edit: Someone reminded me that T3 cruisers, or strategic cruisers, are put in the same group as battleships due to their power, so can't enter DED 4/10s and below, and Watches and below. Thanks, u/Jason1143!
