    Just Checking In

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 08:49 AM PDT

With their consent, what if you could transport another capsuleer or even multiple capsuleers (other players)?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 05:46 PM PDT

Instead of being a cargo hold, the capsuleer/player would be in the seating area and it would be as if they are in a cidatel and the passenger would be seen sitting in a seat with a seatbelt on.

Edit: Something similiar to a courier contract, but you can put your pod into the contract, so maybe a shuttle contract?

How I made 100 million ISK doing PvP in HiSec.

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 07:21 AM PDT

So I'm lazily yawing about an asteroid belt in my el'cheapo rat Thrasher collecting some cargo I've just liberated when another player warps in. He's flashy. And in a tiny tiny itty bitty corvette. So I start clicking away and rotating around him, checking out them info panels. I'm not really sure, pilot is experienced, I'm not, but I have the bigger ship and I can afford to replace it. So I lock up and start blastin'!

Pewpewpew the silent snap of lasers hissing through the void, the groaning shudder of artillery, the sizzle of shield and armor and hull slagging off on slowly arcing trajectories towards the infinite vastness of the cosmos. He's at half armor, I look down; I'm at 1/4 armor. Well, better gtfo! Nope, sorry newjack. Webber. My ship explodes around me and moments later I'm looking at a fresh pod floating in my home dock. I did manage to type a "had to try" in local before being space popsicled and moments later I get a message.

We have a good laugh about my destroyer getting stomped by a corvette and I have a look at the combat log. Tier 2 weaponry ate through my untanked ship like an automatic toaster laser knife through rye bread. He asks me why I attacked him, I say for funsies and to see if I could get a kill since I'm a noob and this is the first time I've ever fired on another player. He goes damn, that's rare in HiSec for new players. Then he says here ya go, SRP! 100 million isk-aroonies in my account!

So now I've got a fully fit Procurer and I'm in the process of making my first Cruiser. Yay! Much wow!

CCP can you make it so we can delete Drone groups and Auto fill options please. The ever growing list of wrong typed stuff and the miles of drone groups over 15 years is getting quite cancerous.

Be the good guys and make this a thing yall lol

    Returning player retention, eh?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 05:59 PM PDT

Come back to the game, everything looking cool, go do some mining for a bit to get re-acquainted with the game and earn some isk. See some Angels, I remember them. Dispatch them with a couple of hobgoblins.

See some Autothysian Lancers... those are new. But hey, I'm mining in a .9 sector, send in the hobgob

    Leshak+Leshak+Nestor

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 01:48 PM PDT

Hey. My corpmates are thinking about entering wormhole space. We have a plan, which includes 2 Leshaks and Nestor. How much isk per hour we can get from different wormholes(c3-c4-c5). If you have any video/text materials about this theme, it will be very kind to share the source. P.S. Leshaks in spider-reps fit, nestor for cap stability.

    Triglavian invasion thoughts

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 05:06 AM PDT

Triglavian invasion has some problems on how the fight over systems is conducted.

The obvious one is that the fight is a grind. You clear anomalies or you kill the roaming fleets. Nothing more.

The second problem is perhaps even bigger but less obvious: The fight has complete lack of decisive battles.
When both sides grind the system the progress simply stalls. Players on both sides win their fights and as a result the wins on both side are meaningless. The victories cancel out to mean nothing.

Adding decisive fights would be major improvement to the system control battle. In these fights one side would win while the other side would lose. There should be no "both sides win but they cancel out" option in them.

The system control should not be decided solely by which side grinds more rats. Instead these decisive fights would play major role.

You may say that this kind of fights exist in second phase of the invasion in the form of flashpoint sites, stellar deployment sites and world ark site. But by the time those appear in system the winner is practically set in stone already.
Also you can't really make the other side lose in these. One side is defending and they can only stop the other side from winning, they themself can't "win" anything.

Making something like this work in high security space would be hard since capsuleers on opposing sides can't engage each other.

The system control battle is a grind. It lacks any strategy and tactics. Form fleets and go grind the system. Splitting the fleets to anomalies/roaming is the only decision that can be made.

The grind could be alleviated by adding objectives to complete. These objectives would result in changes in the system and would be vital for victory.

Some ideas on objectives and changes they cause:

    • Logistic blockade - Camp the gates to stop enemy reinforcements from arriving. Blow up enemy cynos to stop feinforcements from arriving.
    • Camping gates make more cynos appear, destroying cynos make more rats jump in though gates.
    • Succesul blockade on gates/blowing up cynos fast would result in fewer roaming fleets.
    • Space superiority - Kill roaming rats of enemy side so rats of your side have control of the space.
    • Space superiority completed -> Haulers arrive in system and start deploying structures (sentries, forward operating bases, cyno beacons, observatories. etc.).
    • Deployed structures make roaming fleets spawn more (reship in system) making blockading system less effective.
    • Achieving space superiority when enemy has structures in system would cause the roaming fleets to stop wandering around and instead come together to take out the enemy structures.
    • Destroying enemy structures would undo their progress. The porogress wouldn't be undone completely but enough to matter.

Occasional irregular events in the system would also help by forcing players on each side to react to the change. Some ideas on irregular events that may happen.

    • Coordinated rat push. Occasionally the roaming fleets stop wandering around in many smaller fleets aind instead form up into one large fleet.
    • "Elite" squad with very different ships from normal roaming fleets. A fleet made out of only assault frigates, Combined fleet of two allied factions, sniping fleet with high alpha that warps at range and moves to different location instead of fighting to death, stealth bomber fleet that excels in destroying the structures.

Sunesis is an excellent hauling ship

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 10:24 AM PDT

    o7

I learnt a few months ago that the Sunesis is an excellent hauling ship for highsec/low sec. Its cheap and most of all - very easily to make to instant align + it has a big cargo bay. This fit has 1.3k cargo space, instant aligns and has a nice buffer that can suvive small smartbomb camps. Really suprised how a destroyer could be so good at hauling. I outline this further in this video:

I call this ship the Cargonesis ;)

    In and out again

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 04:22 PM PDT

Hey y'all. Love to have a thing for us returning players on "what's new" in EVE. It's rather overwhelming to come back and you have new factions, ships, all new metas and whatnot. Is there something for returning players to refamiliarize yourself with EVE like a help chat the new players get or are you reliant on a corp to do that.

I came back during all this Triglavian whoha after departing during the Sansha whohaa. So if there is some sort of chat, I'd love to be pointed to it while if there's not, having one for players that have been offline for 6+ months may be helpful.

How many skillpoints do you need to effectively live in wormhole space?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 12:47 PM PDT

I have a group of friends who would like to get into Eve. I have a character with 25M skillpoints that I play off and on, but have never really ventured into WH space, apart from a few roams with a big corp. My question is, how far off are we from starting a wormhole corp? I like the idea of living in wormhole space, but if this is something that is entirely too far off then I'd rather we just focus elsewhere for now.

Any thoughts / skill plans / advice?
