The price of trig content; 50-75% of pvp in Black Rise.

Black Rise used to be a great place for low sec pvp. After the trig invasion activity has plummeted. Coincidence?

Goons and the Poverty of True Delve

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 12:02 PM PST

    https://www.mixcloud.com/Kahanis/fireside-chat-28-nov-2k20/listeners/

"We've wasted a ton of ISK on a daily basis" - man currently trying to tell people they're not poor

tl;dr: goons mismanaged their money and are bringing in a slew of directors to look at their empty wallets to figure out where it all went wrong. Their goonhorn toot was also a call to action for afk investors to throw wads of ISK into the maw that is the failing goon war machine. Begging some long-AFK dudes into giving up some ISK to keep the lights on in Delve or to cover their evacuation as we surround them is pretty weak, even for the failed state that is the imperium, but the fact of the matter is that this war started because Goon's exploitative nature is a net negative for the game and they've proven that point true by calling for war bonds while they have 40 faction Fortizars and a half-dozen Keepstars in one system.

They've failed to splinter PAPI and Legacy despite many Metashow scrambles, and don't appear to have much gas left in their tank except to tell everyone they're going to act magnanimous in face of poverty. There's no nobility in squandering all the wealth you made from your line-members on this prideful vanity-fueled meta-gaming.

Keep up your gatecamps though, I'm sure that's good for morale as we take system after system and you trudge down the pipes of Delve to lose the timers for each and every one of them.

    Space Poverty?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 08:16 PM PST

So, I've been reading about the latest Goon financial drama/spin/propaganda/whatever (depending on which side you're on) as an uninvolved observer, and I can't believe nobody has memed this yet.

I'm thoroughly disappointed at the waste of meme potential, so I'll be the change I want to see on r/Eve and do it myself.

Avoiding gankers... and possibly profiting from them?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 12:37 PM PST

Context: I'm an Alpha pilot who makes most of their money from ratting and running L2 missions right now (with a little bit of exploration, ninja salvaging, and industry on the side). From time to time I head over to the Jita hub to sell the salvage/unneeded loot I've collected. However, I'm pretty paranoid about getting attacked while transporting these goods, especially since I have a common 0.5 ganking site in the way. I've heard that 3M ISK/1K EHP is the recommended ratio, but I'm not sure if that's up to date. For context, the Badger I usually fly has about 24000 EHP, although I'll probably upgrade it sometime soon.

After seeing a lot of ganks in my vicinity, I've considered another way to make money. I typically have a lot of salvage materials and hybrid turret ammo going around, and most of the destroyer fits I've seen on zkill have similar rigs. Assuming I have basic manufacturing and trade skills, is it possible for me to make a profit creating rigs and selling them along with the ammo near ganking hotspots (where should be at least some buyers) instead of simply taking the materials back to Jita?

    How do I git gud?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 03:37 PM PST

So I have loads of sp, the magic 14 all at 5, basically skills all maxed for what I fly. I spend my downtime mining and theory crafting fits, researching and trying to build the best ships I can while remaining semi affordable.

I pull decent enough isk between FW and industry stuff. But I find whenever I branch out from what I have been doing the past 3 years I get instakilled or die to some random thing I had no knowledge of. Example, lost an Astero recently to a camp in null. I scouted the system on the map, saw 2 players and 1 death in the last 30 and all surrounding systems were dead. Figured I could hit the gate, I could not. Cov ops cloak and trying to out pilot the campers did nothing and I was dead the minute a drone swarm decolaked me.

Or my attempt to run L4 missions in my Tengu taking 2 hours for one mission and having to abandon another because I couldn't tank the damage long enough to kill off anything.

I am not a min maxer I just want to have fun and losing a ship is whatever, it just seems that all my losses are instakills to stuff I have no chance to counter.

Even taking fights in FW I still lose against other t1 frigs or I have people small gang me in faction or t2 ships. I try and practice pvp but I am not taking away lessons from my losses or I legitimately don't know why I lost. So every fair fight ends in a loss or I just get blapped in unfair fights and learn nothing. I have yet to win a 1v1 so hesitate to fly anything bigger as the cost pet loss goes up.

So TL;DR, how do I get better at kill stuff (people and NPCs eg. Burners, those scare me)?

Lowsec static stonks on the rise!

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 11:23 AM PST

Nullsec static right now is the mainstream option for PvP people, but I think that with the continuing nerfs to nullsec, we will start seeing real estate market for lowsec static trending upwards! Get yourself a nice c2 with a lowsec static and be ahead of the curve. Nullsec meta gonna dead soon, and I for one am glad, lowsec static gang rise up! Contact your boy Chinguatles for investment options in lowsec static market.

Thinking about spinning up eve again

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 04:46 PM PST

I've been out of eve for a few years, I was thinking of getting back in, how difficult would it be to get into incursions?

My main account has a mealstrom that's fit for level 4 missions and few spare exploration ships, I did a lot of missions but never found a group for incursions
