Posted: 06 Dec 2020 11:04 PM PST CCP with the ESS update gave more incentive to pvp in null. Stealing another players pve rewards right off the table I thought was a pretty nice touch and has generated some great content and a new meta. The proving grounds has also been a nice touch since if you are able to win a decent amount of matches you can break even or make some isk to keeping flying what you need. Faction warfare is a bit lackluster currently and is really only popular with frigs and dessies. It's been a long time since ive seen a competent cruiser gang in a medium plex. Nonetheless being able to make isk while I pvp has made things a lot more enjoyable since I dont need to grind missions so much. Hopefully CCP implements more of these similar scenarios in the future. [link] [comments] |

How a solo miner mines victorious over CODE. Posted: 06 Dec 2020 08:54 AM PST Obv on a throwaway for op sec. Been suicide ganked by code multiple times. Went to rookie chat, searched reddit, eveo forums and the consensus is that code always wins. Today, code lost. I mine afk and they can't touch me. Below is how I did it. James can suck miner dick.
A scanner astero will swing by to see if you're an eligible victim. They will not engage if they don't think they can kill you before concord arrives. They will often refit to destroyers with around 1k dps
Crack a beer, smoke a joint and open netflix. I lost multiple barges to come up with this but seeing alphabet and code fuck off was rather satisfying. I bask in pirate salt. Its very good for the skin. PS - I am aware of a few counters to this and I am well prepared. My interaction went like this today: Code scanning alt: nice tank Code scanning alt: go blue get a permit Me: hi sec free sec shove your permit up your ass Code scanning alt: IM TELLING ALPHABET [link] [comments] |

Tengu/Loki for 10/10 DED Sansha Posted: 06 Dec 2020 09:57 PM PST Hello, i'm going to start running 10/10 sansha DED's for the first time, and a T3 cruiser would be the most logical i think. The thing is, i'm shield trained, so i would prefear a shielded fit, but can't chose between Loki or Tengu. Also i will probably do some wormhole stuff and i think the loki is more versatile for that (?) Any help/discussion would be welcome! [link] [comments] |

Question about landing at a camped gate at 0KM in Low Sec. while cloaked. Posted: 06 Dec 2020 09:04 AM PST I use perches in Low Sec. but I encountered a heavily camped gate earlier today. I didn't like the angle at which my perch was because the campers were in my approach path between my perch and the gate. I flew to another point and made a new perch BM to avoid the bad guys. I warped, avoided coming within 2KM of their ships, and jumped through. Just wondering if the above was necessary. In the time that it takes between stopping from warp at around 0KM at the gate, getting de-cloaked, and actually jumping through, what's happening on the server side? Am I vulnerable for the 4-5 seconds during that process or is there a session change that takes place immediately, making me invulnerable as I lose my cloak and begin the jump process? If I am vulnerable as I de-cloak and before I jump, I think the only thing that can feasibly kill my ship is an area of effect weapon (Smartbomb) as it doesn't seem like enough time to lock and alpha-strike me. Could a 9,000 EHP frigate survive a Smartbomb from a battleship? Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Dec 2020 02:50 PM PST I got into my first Carrier a little over 6mo, or so, back and have been steadily practicing and familiarizing myself with them. There's really just one aspect of them that I really scratch my head over: the NSA and, by extension, the role of carriers, specifically (not Super Carriers). The NSA seems like it is supposed to be to Carriers what the Siege, Triage, and even Bastion modules are to their respective ship classes, but it doesn't really fit into that line-up. Each of the other modules buffs the tanking ability and express purpose of each ship class that it is fitted to and is, therefore, central and mandatory to their fits and effectiveness in their designated role. The "purpose" of Carriers, in particular, is to be anti-subcapital platforms. Yet, the NSA does relatively little to benefit a Carrier in that respect. Yes, the expedited locking time and extended range is definitely a boon, there's no denying that. It just seems that, by comparison, the NSA benefits carriers in their role far less than a Siege or Triage module does for Dreads and FAX in their particular roles. Case in point, I almost never see Carriers playing their "role" as anti-subcap platforms. At most, I've seen them on field for the odd structure bash (lightly defended bashes, that is), or as Anti-fighter platforms, where their only purpose is to kill the Heavy Fighters of Super Carriers (this is also the only of the two scenarios where carriers are used in which the NSA really is useful, outside of allowing carriers to be tethered on a friendly structure during a bash, which seems wrong, imho). Rather boring and shit roles, in practice, honestly. If anyone can please clarify, I'd be very appreciative. As I said, I'm still getting familiar with carriers, their capabilities, and role, so I'm definitely coming at this from a place of relative ignorance. Sorry for the wall of text. [link] [comments] |
