Weekly reminder (week 7) that Asteroid belts and all linked systems are still broken to shit.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 12:33 AM PST

This is the 4th weekly reminder that CCP is yet to even publicly announce (themselves) an acknowledgement of the various problems created by their "recent" ore redistribution patch, and when I read the word redistribution a meme comes to mind. https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/010/692/19789999.jpg

This is the 4th installment of weekly reminders to keep attention to the issues that CCP create for themselves but are seemingly too lazy to deal with or unwilling as it directly breaks systems that are detrimental to basic mechanics within Nullsec.

Why is afk cloaky camping a valid playstyle, but AFK mining or ratting isn't?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2020 02:43 PM PST

I know that cloaky camping doesn't generate ISK income, but it is still a playstyle the pilot benefits from. Why should they solely enjoy the benefits of AFK 'activity'? And before anyone starts on the argument of ignore local or they can't hurt if they're AFK, the point is the AFK cloaker is benefiting from his AFK activity. Either by deterring locals from ratting/mining through psychological warfare, or being able to pounce on the complacent at a time determined only by their volition. They then get to loot the wreck thus earning ISK from an activity that involves being AFK 99.99999999% of the time.

This mechanic is either biased toward scarebears or against carebears and I'm tired of it. Everyone should have to earn the rewards of their playstyle through activity. Nerf the cloak, let the tears flow, and harvest the heavenly salt I say!

Edit: I'm not saying eliminate it, but make it require some form of input to maintain. No more logging in, cloaking up, and going to work for 8 hours while your AFK character reaps the rewards of psychological warfare.

Please, don't just tell me why you think it is, but explain why they deserve to benefit from an AFK 'activity' requiring no input for hours?

Edit 2: I'm not suggesting the elimination of cloaky camping, rather that input be required to maintain a cloak.

Edit 3: If you don't like local go live in a wormhole. Problem solved. Oh wait, but then you don't get to reap the benefits of countless hours of psychological warfare with zero input...

Final Edit: Thank you all for your comments, replies, and even the salt. Provoking discussion was the point of my post. Not to tell you what to think, but to compel you to think for yourself and encourage everyone to logically discern the validity of this zero input, AFK gameplay style. Last, but not least, for everyone saying nerf local, go ahead, but act not surprised when your prey migrates to greener pastures and safer havens.

Another Init Corp WIDOTTING into Goons

    Posted: 03 Dec 2020 12:22 PM PST

Does eve have ANY anti-botting measures

    Posted: 03 Dec 2020 12:05 PM PST

Other games incorporate the simplest anti-botting measures- tracking mouse movements, scanning active programs and authenticating actions. Does EVE even attempt at this?

[TIL] While in fleet if you right click the squad commander of a squad you can add entire squad to watch list.

    Posted: 03 Dec 2020 04:11 AM PST

I'm not sure if this is something I have overlooked the last 12 years of my EVE life or it was a QOL change recently introduced. Either, if you didn't know, now you know. Super helpful for multiboxing and what not.

Low Class Wormhole Industry...is it viable?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2020 05:34 PM PST

So I was thinking is low class wormhole industry a viable thing for a solo player or small Corp? If so does anyone have experience doing it?

I'm talking about locking hole and rorqual or exhumer mining, PI, T2 Production, T3 reactions. Are these viable in say a c1,c2,c3?

High sec Athanor info / moon mining info needed

    Posted: 03 Dec 2020 08:58 PM PST

Hi, I'm trying to find info on how expensive it is to run an Athanor in high sec.

I haven't played in like 6 years but just started again last week.

I've read that moon mining in high sec got nerfed hard and you can't get back the fuel cost or something and its supposed to be crap now or something?

But I've also read that if moon mining module is the only one running you can run it for about 70 mil worth of fuel per month? Which doesn't seem like a lot.

I've never moon mined before, just asteroids and ice, and I've also read that mining got nerfed in general as each individual asteroid is much smaller so you need to bounce around more to mine them.

I have a few questions about moon mining itself:

    1) When the moon pops and you can mine it, does it come out in bigger chunks so you can sit there and farm it for longer without having to move up and down space like you do with an asteroid field?

    2) Do rats appear while you're mining?

    3) I keep reading that like "high sec" or "common" ores aren't available from them any more in high sec, only goo? I'm not quite sure what that means, can somebody explain ?

Finally, this isn't a troll post. Yes I know Eve is about flying ships and blowing shit up. I do that when I'm actively playing. I work from home and AFK mine while I'm coding and kind of keep any eye on it from a few feet away.

An Exhaustive look & different techniques of the MWD + Cloak Trick (YT Video)

    Posted: 03 Dec 2020 08:02 AM PST

    Hi All!

First time posting here but have lurked quiet a bit. Thoroughly looking forward to getting flamed for self-promoting/selling out but I am providing knowledge to newbros and vets alike. Plus I can handle criticism & trolls, it is just words at the end of the day.

Anyway, had this channel for a few months and would love some feedback, praise, trolling, or verbal choke slams you wish to give me about on this video or others. This is one of my more in-depth guides aimed to demystify misinformation and give a new viewpoint on how the cloak trick works. You could learn something new or could be a good refresher for you old time salty vets.
