Just got back after a year, ganked, lost $8 billion ship Posted: 05 Jan 2021 11:02 PM PST Well, Eve has gone to shit. Just renewed my membership 15 minutes ago, got on to do a level 4 mission, and bam out of no where got ganked by a group called CODE. Lost my $8 billion Golem. After ganking they told me I needed to buy a "license" to mine... This is really shitty. Submitted a ticket to CCP. [link] [comments] |

M2-XFE ihub destroyed without contest Posted: 05 Jan 2021 04:44 PM PST In another major blow to the papi invasion of Delve, the M2-XFE ihub owned by Pandemic Horde has been destroyed and the system retaken by the Imperium. This removes the ability for papi forces to cynojam the system and safely extract their trapped capital fleet. At the time of writing all neighbouring systems are also in the process of being captured, with the entire NJU-QV constellation expected to fall shortly. Despite pinging for coalition-wide ops, papi has failed to send fleets of any significance to defend the area. If anyone knows the current whereabouts of papi leadership, please ask them to call or make contact. Their members desperately miss them. Maybe. [link] [comments] |

ATTN: all members of the Papis Posted: 05 Jan 2021 05:13 PM PST Your leadership has failed you once again. "We are prepared" has turned into:
The reality is that your leadership is lying to your faces just like they always have. They are not prepared. They are shitting themselves right now because they know they lack the competence to prosecute this war that THEY (not you) started. They know that their massive Keepstar wall will crumble the first time things get hard. They know that the Imperium will eviscerate all of the BRAVE the second they get bored of propping up Redline's incompetence and Vily's ego. The thing is, we get it. You didn't understand you were going to be pressed into service as fodder for a cabal of psychopaths and their greedy delusions of grandeur. You thought you were going to a safe area of the galaxy to play the game, krab, and get the occasional "gud fite", but instead of tossing an "o7" into local as you fly between anoms, you're going to be shoveled into the grinding slaughterhouse that is World War Bee 2 to sate the insane social curiousity of progod and his ilk. Instead of zooming across the galaxy on a drunken roam op with your favorite FC, you're going to be hellcamped in your own staging listening to some dumbass rant on comms about how much better he is than you. It's going to be a miserable, unmitigated disaster that will likely see the final blow fall not from the righteous defending goon, but from your erstwhile allies when PL decides they've seen enough and brutally stabs you in the back under the banner of "we're resetting everyone", as they have done to so many others in the past. But there is hope for you yet! Abandon your blundering leadership as they clumsily attempt to sacrifice you on the altar of "content". Don't go on fleets. Move your assets out of Imperium space. Tear down your structures and find a new home for them. Delta Sqad have no quarrel with you! We only desire to see your insane masters brought low, humiliated, and cast out for their traitorous ways, exposed as the bloodthirsty, backstabbing scum that they are. The only alternative is to offer yourself up for slaughter in an unjust war and see your coffers and will to play drained by futile conflict, only to be betrayed in the 11th hour by your so-called "friends". Do the right thing for yourself, for the game, and for your future. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 05 Jan 2021 02:10 AM PST Disclaimer: I'm definitely no PAPI apologist, just an observer watching all this madness from a distance. I support neither side as I have no horse in this race. If PAPI didn't jump in, goons would have claimed they were blue-balled by chickenshits -- and frankly, they would have been right. Let's be honest: Nobody knew exactly what was going to happen with the unprecedented server load. Not you, not me, not anyone. If you claim otherwise, you're full of horseshit. Of course, heavy TIDI should definitely warrant extreme caution. PAPI should have probably done things a bit different (like jumping in off-grid next to their citadel, for starters), or gotten there way earlier. All valid points of criticism and they should own that. However, there were several possibilities that could have happened with the knowledge at the time: 1) the server nodes crashes, and it's a stalemate and the blueballs is on CCP, 2) the fight of the century, or 3) some unknown server fuckery the leads to god-know-what. The latter happened. Now we have ghost titans, multi-hour-long jumps, unfitted ships on grid, destroyed ships with no wrecks -- an absolutely shit-show. PAPI should take the brunt of the responsibility for taking a leap into the unknown, but c'mon, don't be blind; CCP still shit the bed in many ways. They're running these massive fleet battles on single-threaded processor. It's 2020, people have learned things like -- oh, I don't know, how to horizontally scale -- and they had literally years and years of solid revenue to reinvest into their processes and infrastructure. I mean, the game hasn't even grown that much over the past decade and they're still barely holding things together with baling wire and duct tape with subscription fees that are sky-high for the industry. Come on, CCP, get your shit together. The game will never grow with these hard limits. Now that PAPI took the dive, now everybody has a better understanding of what the server limits are -- and in a way, everyone is better off for it. The limits were tested, and now we better know what to expect going forward. So yeah, PAPI brought the fight. And if the CCP servers would have held up, it would have been the fight of the century. THAT ALMOST HAPPENED. Obviously PAPI didn't do it right-- again, they should have gotten their earlier, they should have jumped off grid, blah blah. And CCP shouldn't be running a clown show. But fuck it man, PAPI they risked a giant fucking fleet to bring the fight in the face of something unknown and unprecedented. And that takes balls, so credit should be given where credit is due. [zkill] And the winners are.... Posted: 05 Jan 2021 06:41 AM PST Last week I announced that anyone who died in M2- during the days of the biggest titan battles1 we've ever seen would be eligible for one helluva contest. In short, 1st place, a non-faction titan, 2nd place a non-faction super, and 3rd place a non-faction dread. I have on record 4,975 unique characters that died in the time frame given in M2-XFE. And the winners are!
I will be sending evemails in a few minutes to find out their selections. I do reserve the right to send ISK if I cannot obtain the hull of choice. 1 yea, shit happened, deal with it [link] [comments] |

Why don't I see more Kiting Hecate's in Null solo PvP? Posted: 05 Jan 2021 08:06 PM PST The standard Neutron + Hull or SAAR Hecate is one of the more common solo PvP ships to see in space, for very good reason - it's an excellent ship. The two most common / effective ways to solo PvP in null are - the Hecate way, catch something and burn it to the ground as fast as is possible before the blob lands. Or - Kite and don't commit to fights so that you can leave when the blob arrives. Besides its DPS, the Hecate also has incredibly agility - sub 2s warp without fitting a single mod or rig to the ship. That's also a big deal for solo PvP. On top of that it can also run Combat Probes without gimping its fit. These are two things that the confessor cannot do. So, I thought - why don't people kite with the Hecate more often? To answer my own question - I put together a fit, along with several common ships you'll see kiting alone in nullsec that are comparable to the way you'd fly a kiting Hecate. I used an absurdly well appointed Chremoas as the baseline as it does everything better than all of the other ships (except agility, I couldn't get it more agile than the Hecate even with a faction I-stab and implants). At the bottom of this post are the fits I used, and a Google Sheets of comparisons. Take the rankings with a grain of salt - they are just the ways I chose to compare paper metrics of these ships - I left some of the raw data in there as well so you can compare at a glance. None of these fits (except the baseline Chremoas) use any bling, and no drugs or implants except fitting implants when needed. I know that many of these fits typically do use bling - but for standardization I did not do that here. Everything is based on Max skills for standardization. The T3D's only use Propulsion mode. That's the mode I assume you'll be in the vast majority of the time. It goes without saying that if the opportunity presents itself where using sharpshooter for a bit works - your damage application is going to be much better. This Hecate fit should never enter defense mode. The damage stats are at 15km, at 20km, and an average of the two. Always using the highest paper dps ammo for the average of those two ranges. There is one comparison against a best-case scenario target, "Paper DPS". The other comparison is against a fairly standard cheap tackle Stiletto (Quad-lif + RF MSE) overheating toward you at a 45* angle, while you burn away - prop on, cold. I compare speed in several ways other than just top speed. The first metric is Distance traveled over 18 seconds. 18 seconds simply because at that point every one of these fits has reached its top speed. The second metric is The distance you travel with one cycle of heated prop, assuming you are already at top speed. For Capacitor, I chose to simply give cap stable fits a score of 1, cap stable with charges a score of .9 - everything else is just fractions of a minute. I did this because I didn't want to give too much credit to being cap-stable as many (most) good fits do not need to be cap stable to be highly effective. All cap numbers are based on overheated guns and tank, tackle mods off - everything else on. Buffer + Tank is the amount of tank (or regen) a fit can run in one minute (or until cap runs out) + buffer. This unrealistically favors the Chremoas but who cares - it's just a baseline. You can see the amount of HP that is reinforced (nanite) and the amount that is sustained (no paste left). The Total is just a sum of all of the accumulated points in each category, then there is an index for ISK:Performance. Remember that all of this scoring is only relative to the fits presented here. CONCLUSION: Rail Hecate, relative to other common null solo kiting fits - is incredibly agile (<2s warp prop on), and has excellent tracking. It is (on paper) pretty easy to fly thanks to those two things and the fact that it's practically cap stable. Its max paper DPS sucks due to the smaller guns - only the wolf is worse, and the wolf is good because of alpha, not straight DPS. However, real world application is quite decent - also due to the smaller guns and their increased tracking. Speed is nothing great at ~3k cold - but it's still faster than an A-Type Retribution and a shitload faster than people expect a Hecate to be. The tank is pretty shit, again comparable to the Wolf - which is must faster - so you'll have to pick your fights and use that agility to disengage when needed. In short, I'd say the reasons to fly the Rail Hecate for null solo PvP are: Here is the Google Sheets Comparison of all the fits. Here is the Hecate Fit. You could of course replace the TC with a Web. The reason I did not is - it's a lone Hecate in null. Everyone knows it has no less than one web and some nasty blaster dps. Not a lot of ships that can catch you - will be super eager to try to web you. Here is the absurd "baseline" Chremoas. Here's the rest of the fits for reference; nothing you haven't seen before. The rail Eris isn't a super common ship to see either - but it's included because it does a lot of what the rail hecate does - only better. That being said its agility sucks, feeding that many guns paste without being a t3d sucks (and they overheat pretty much instantly) and I'd rather have combat probes than bubbles - although bubbles are fun. I hope you enjoy, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback <3 [link] [comments] |
