    This months contest is focused on design aspects of the Subreddit.

    There are a few categories, the top voted submissions from each category will be awarded an exclusive Caracal Skin. The overall winners will be decided from the shortlist and have their designs implemented.

    • Main Banner - 4,000x192px - The banner at the top of the page

    • Mobile Banner - 1600x480px - The banner at the top of the mobile site

    • Community Icon - 256x256px - The circular icon that represents /r/eve

    • Inactive/Active Downvote arrows - There isn't a guide size for these provided by Reddit. There are two images for upvotes and downvotes that should represent before and after interactions.

    • Link Preview Placeholder Image - No guide size, this image is what appears as a preview for links that do not have their own preview.

    Submissions should be related to EVE, you can submit in multiple categories however the intention is to provide one SKIN prize per person.

    Submissions should be made as a reply to this thread under the relevant category heading. Winners will be announced at the start of next month.

    despite nearly 1000 people showing up to defend the sixth empire and the sotiyo snuffed out and allies where successful in destroying the Sotiyo and claiming nearly 18 billion in loot (not including the core)

    The large battle in Basgerin today over the Children's Orphanage Sotiyo was an absolute blast to loot. There was tons of shit blowing up and plenty of local shittery. TiDi managed to stay low enough to not ruin looting as it does with huge nullsec fights with sub 10% tidi. For most of the battle the tidi was around 40-70%. Including the massive amount of salvaging I did afterwards, I got over a billion ISK in loot from wrecks of ships.

    Imperium formed up 1,500 nerds in 1DQ alone in less than 10 minutes; papi went home. Stay tuned to learn whether off-grid Azbels are capable of clearing tackle on 335 titans.

    Update 20:16 EVE: Apparently both coalitions are continuing to put pilots into fleets and the chance of a fight is higher than 0%.

    20:36 EVE: There is now a fight over the FM-JK5 ihub.

    21:17 EVE: Yet more fighting over an intial iHub reinforcement in FM-

    21:45 EVE: Fleets in space -- three or four by each coalition -- are kinda staring at each other, trying to jam each other with their minds while hacking slowly ticks down.

    21:50 EVE: Slugfest! HACs on HACS on Jackdaws on bombers on tackle on sabres and its just a beautiful little clusterfuck of ships shooting ships on this ihub. Tidi 10%

    22:04 EVE: CONDI hackers are resetting control of the iHub. Grid is chaos.

    22:25 EVE: Imperium is focus firing a final papi hacker; ihub vulnerability ends in 9 minutes, it's going to be a squeaker.

    22:38 EVE: The FM- vulnerability window has ended and has entered the overtime status. A small capital gang from Papi is under fire and appears to be dying. Everywhere, logistics ships are exploding. It is beautiful.

    22:53 EVE: The ~rumor~ is that the titan in FM- is one of Papi's bridge hulls that accidentally jumped. Papi and Imperium continue to basically volley opposing HACs and logistics into the ether.

    23:03 EVE: Papi appears to be extracting, mass gfs in local. M2- held by the Imperium, FM- held by the Imperium. BR link to follow soon.

    Are Carriers as Awful as I think they are?

    Are Carriers as bad as I think they are at their given role ( as Anti-subcap Capital Ships), or do I just have a particularly poor perception of them? They seem like they are more quasi-Capitals, instead of true Capital ships. They don't seem particularly good at their Anti-subcap role, they aren't particularly tanky (at least not for a Capital Ship), and just all-around seem irrelevant from a practicality standpoint.

    They definitely aren't the force multipliers that they used to be (I've only been playing since about '12) and seem to require a critical mass to be effective, by which point you're better off fielding other, cheaper or more powerful options. They generally seem to have too little DPS with too little application, and too easily defanged and destroyed for their cost and time spent training to fly them. If I didn't love the Chimera and Nidhoggur hulls so much, or simply know how much better Super Carriers are, I'd probably extract my Carrier skills. I really don't think anyone would blame me, if I did.

    I've seen them used in some really cool Small Gang and even Solo Scenarios, but those instances are obviously very few and far between. Nowhere near as common as a Dreadnought in a Small gang or Solo Scenario. The carriers of old had their own set of issues that needed to be corrected, but damn if I don't wish I'd have been able to fly a carrier, back in their prime.

    I know the art team was on twitch a lot and CCP aurora taught a bunch of classes and some of the devs played proving grounds with streamers but was that it? Did that replace eve Vegas? I just expected more is all and I'm a bit disappointed.

    CCPPLS let us Scroll the overview presset list.

    Basically if you are using Z-s overview or any of the other big packs and you right click an over view tab to select a different pre-set, a big chunk of them will be off screen and you cant seem to scroll or get to them.

    Fortunately for me the ones off screen are ones I don't tend to need to select but that might not always be the case, so can you either let this window scroll, spread it out over more than one column or give it to us as a drop down list box that we can navigate through to get the correct entry.

    Dear citizens of New Eden,

    as some of you may know, our glorious leader Hy Wanto Destroyer recently decided it was time to expand the borders of our glorious mining empire beyond the region of Black Rise.

    There are many rocks in the areas around Rakapas, but after getting scammed 2 months ago by the space pope and some co-conspirators

    With the major blocs occupied either ship spinning or staring at their login screens in M2-, the Basgerin Sotiyo and Keepstar were ripe for the taking.

    Without any resistance on the armor timer we felt we could easily bash the structures and take over a part of Sinq Laison, and push our demands on the pope. We offered him to declare one of us as the new rightful pope or pay us 45b with which we could afford new rorquals.

    Yet the community came together and rallied an army to fight us, our vast network of spys confirmed what leadership had feared, too many nerds to handle grabbed their ships and are getting ready to defend the holy empire in Basgerin.

    We at Snuffed Out would like to apologize for reinforcing the Basgerin Sotiyo and the trouble we caused Max.

    We do not have enough players or assets to deal with the assembling forces and won't form for the final timer tonight.

    It is a shame another great opportunity for a good fight goes to waste, but it was the only call to make.
