I'm FED UP: Part 1 "The Azbel Will Be Saved"

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 03:46 PM PST

Hi guys, I'm FEDUP and I'm fed up.

    A brief history:

It all started in December of 2020. We'd been working hard in the war for months, and at little risk to our own home. The R64s were flowing, the Ishtars were spinning in the havens, and Silver promised our efforts in Delve would be rewarded with a new home. "Just push a little harder", he said.

That all changed when INIT and Deepwater Hooligans were sent to Curse. We knew they would be sent eventually. We were on the edge of the war, but the coalition said they would be able to defend us on the important timers, and we trusted them. INIT was a pain. They did entosis in off-tz's, cloaky camped, and blopsed on ratters. Yet, Silver's position was the same. "It's fine."

After a few weeks of skirmishing with the Hooligans, INIT became less prevalent, but Hooligans hired cloaky campers to camp every system in our pocket. We could not rat or mine at all, and in the moons we did try to mine together, Hooligans would drop blops on us. IHubs and TCUs began to fall in the outer loop of our little Immensea pocket, but Silver again cried, "It's fine!". "We don't care about that space, they're tryharding and wasting their time to do nothing, they will get bored". He listed off every excuse in the book, but I saw through it. It seemed as though the coalition was unwilling to save us unless the timers were actually important. (Whatever that means).

The Hooligans hit one of our Azbels for production and after a skirmish on the armor timer, it was sent to hull. Somewhere in the process, Kontra told us that the Azbel would be safe and that Delve was the way forward. Obviously that didn't work out. Even after Vily turned up with a Muninn fleet to defend a W4RP Tatara that came out around the same time, we got slaughtered by a Dreadbomb Tengu fleet while Hooligans wailed away on the Azbel.

Shortly after the Azbel loss, Silver released a SOTA that basically said we were going to turtle up in our staging and only defend "important stuff". Two weeks later, you can see how well that's worked. Part two coming soon.

Stolen account and CCP dropping the ball

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 06:25 AM PST

So I had my account stolen around 3 years ago, assumably stripped and sold. I say sold because I was alerted my character was online while I was on a break.

I opened a ticket and CCP locked the account. But I didn't get it back. They said it was sold on an RMT site, and thus would stay banned. So after a lot of pushback, I said fuck it, and just quit the game.

I came back to eve because my kid started playing, and I see my old character online, and in TEST. Surprising as CCP said the account wouldn't be unbanned.

So here I am, I put in a ticket to get my account back, and I got a reply asking for various information, account dates, IP address etc... I gave them everything and have had zero communication in over 3 weeks. So im here now.

Can someone at CCP please slap your customer service and give me my account back?

    Request #1488023

    Edit-

It's like fucking magic. Literally 1 hour and 15 minutes after this post I get a quite lengthy reply to my ticket. Basically stating the character was transferred off the account a few times

"My investigation of (character) owners up to date revealed only that they - one and all - acquired it in good faith. Considering all of the aforementioned and the time that has passes since the character was transferred off, we have no reason to interfere in the pilot's current ownership nor can I provide to you access to (character) former holding account in its current state. I am sorry.

In light of the decision, my colleague offered in your previous ticket, #‐-------- my decision at this point should be regarded as a second opinion on the subject, and a final one as such. I will accordingly consider the case closed and mark this ticket as "solved". Please, report any further questions or issues relating to other accounts you may have with EVE Online in a new support ticket or by email direct to: support@eveonline.com"

So there we have it. RMT prevails. Guess I'll go buy another account because there's no reprocussions for doing so.

But it does raise a question as to how someone can transfer a character off a banned account... guess the world may never know.

If you could reset all of your skills, would you?

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 09:48 PM PST

Say that CCP just came out and said, "We're giving you the ability to reset the skills on your character(s) once, and only once. You keep the skillpoints, but all skills are set to zero and you can reallocate your SP as you desire."

Would you do it? I'm guessing you would.

Assuming you would, what would you do differently? Would you beeline for your favorite Capital? Train all of those support skills you've neglected?

Or would you completely remap your skills to do something completely different with your character? Go from being a completely combat-focused PvP character to a Mining and Manufacturing Monster?

    Coming from Elite, relatively new!

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 07:19 PM PST

After the developers over at Elite banhammered one of the first emergent gameplay moments that had happened in years, a growing event between slavers and rescuers, I wanted to support a game that actually allows interesting player interactions.Even as a more solo player I really enjoy being part of a dynamic universe that's more than just developer generated narratives and 'allowed' player interactions.

I was mostly wondering what the core gameplay aspects of Eve are like, and if I have any chance of having fun as an alpha clone. It seems like a demo from what I can tell, and I'm not about to get into a monthly sub game.
Right now I'm just mining in a Mammoth, what is exploration like? And I really like the industrial aspect of the game, I'd really like to craft ships too, though that seems like an omega clone thing from what I can tell.
How does the game determine the challenge of quests? Do you got to lower security systems to get more dangerous quests?

All I want for Christmas is Walking in Stations

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 06:24 PM PST

CCPlease... this was a great idea. EVE is, at its core, a game about human interaction. What could be more human than getting together with your buddies after a great op and just chillin'. It doesn't even need to be anything fancy. Just a slightly larger (and multiplayer) captain's quarters or something. If it helps, just think about how many more of those useless cosmetics you'll sell when people can actually show them off. I know that you got burned with Monoclegate but I think you took the wrong lesson from that. People just didn't want you to implement paid items that had in-game benefits.

TEST finally gets an even fight; promptly loses 99:1

    Battle Report

Editorial note: many of the TEST fleet members do not appear on the battle report by virtue of not appearing on any killmails.

Imperium formed a Brutix Navy Issue fleet to shoot the Athanor in PF-KUQ, the gateway to one of the TEST-held constellations in Delve.

With the Brutix Navy Issues at 50 off the Athanor and its logistics wing at 80, TEST brought their "Ferox" shield battlecruiser fleet - supported by four logistics ships - and immediately engaged the Brutii.

The ferox guns were simply not effective against the properly-ranged Brutux fleet with a strong, competent, and extremely handsome logistics wing, and the fight quickly swung in Imperium's favour.

A heroic Imperium interdictor pilot, gopstop2, died in a blaze of glory and held the battlecruisers down long after the fight had swung well into Imperium's favor - preventing the TEST from extracting its battlecruisers long enough to ensure TEST paid for its poor doctrine choice.
