WHAT A FANTASTIC VIEW. My humble Nereus next to the huge Obelisk (first time I saw it in real gaming, I'm a new player here), and the gorgeous stargate. On my way back from mineral mining for my Vexor blueprint (I got it from the career agent). This is the most beautiful, deepest, complex game EVER!

13,000 NPC kills in the past 24 hours. Know how they keep the bounty risk multiplier up? By killing their own ships and pods to fool the modifier into thinking that there's actual danger and PvP in the system. Completely unfit Cyclones and empty pods, one after another sacrificed to the bounty risk modifier altar. And it seems to be working, otherwise they wouldn't be doing it.

The state of FW makes me sad

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 03:16 PM PDT

For the past 10 years I've done on and off FW pvp. It was bumping back in 2014-2016, there were massive fleet battles over contested systems.

The lack of updates has really driven lots of people away. My formerly active corp switched from the gallente warzone to minmatar because black rise was so dead. There's zero incentive to confront enemy fleets plexing. I've been on for two weeks and there hasn't been a single fleet fight for system control larger than 4-5 people.

I really regret resubbing. I thought I could just force myself to have fun in a FW system that hasn't been updated in any major way in 6 years, but I can't :/

Joined Dreddit and I lost 400mils in two days x.x

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 07:51 PM PDT

I am a carebear, I was always a carebear, I never entered null-sec, and rarely did I entered low sec, and when I did it was in a cloak in a system without players in it. A week or so ago, I couldn't bear anymore hi-sec, got burned from missions a decade ago, and left EvE. But returned before a month, and was probing around, like everyone else. Funny thing, before exploration was a niche profession for sciency guys with big SP numbers....now everyone is exploring. And it ain't fun.

So I was looking at recruitment stuff, found one corp, then other, then bumped into Dreddit. I read about them, (checked theirs only fans account) and I liked what I've seen. I applied and a long process started, you know where you provide to them everything. Then the recruiter asked for a picture of you know what, but I needed to write with marker Dreddit on it. To show that I am serial, so I complied. He was very satisfied. * *After many nude pics, from him to me and vice versa I got in! Oh, my joy!

But then I noticed some strange red icon on my left upper corner...it says that we are in a war. I was shocked! I was looking at Dodixie local, name after name trying to find red guys. It was so scary, idea that someone can shot at me without my loved CONCORD officers punishing them.

But I needed to move to Delve to clean up our new home. That was a bargain that I struck. You see, I ain't much of a pilot, but if Dreddit needs me to raise the morale of pilots fighting for freedom, I will be there I will raise that morale, it will be rock hard! 59 or so jumps through low and null sec....NO WAY!!! I seriously thought that null sec is much closer, like 10jumps from Dodixie... I ain't jumping through 59 systems...(never was said by a freighter pilot.) Someone mention to me wormholes, like a proper Dodixie carebear I never entered one, but there are people who like to probe them. So after getting info from probers, and getting lost, and then wandering around in some strange dark holes I was in Querious.

Setting up a course to T5ZI, and then there was some storm, which my Buzzard named Kitty Cat, managed to survive. I find it pretty it was pinkish-purple haze But suddenly local was all red. I warped into a bubble. OMG! Near my port side there was a can named "sorry for your cloak"...but I was still cloaked..take that goons! Slowly I sneaked closer and closer to the gate to T5ZI surrounded by a blob of bees and their slaves, I jumped and FREEDOM! Everyone was blue on grid. I never had seen so many ships nor was I tethered ever before. It's a carebear dream, being safe but outside of the station! People were liberating slaves from the grasp of goons. Mothers were allowed once again to breastfeed their newborns, there were free vacines for everyone. And everyone was so nice and sweet in local. I was given free Titan, it was a Thrasher named Titan...but it's a Titan.

So as a good carebear, I got a tengu, fitted it for rats, and went in some anomalies. It was so fun and nice, but suddenly I smelled unwashed hair and cheap vodka, and the next moment I had 14 Russians on top of me! It was not my first time to have 14 Russians on top of me, but it was my first time in EvE. So that happened. My cherry was popped by Russians, again. I was furious with myself. While there were no combat probes near me 10ly away, and I was aligned, instantly I got scrammed, because I forgot that I was in an anomaly which can be warped into by anyone with a glass of vodka, even if they don't use shampoo, without you know like before, investing in skills in order to scan any signature, and actually dedicating yourself to it.

After that I jumped into Manticore and gate camped....it was fun! For carebears reading this, it's a similar feeling to killing NPCs in mission pockets, without the need to tank, loot sucks.

I thought to myself. You know, goons really need to be banished from null-sec, not because they mocked the death of an EvE player a decade ago, nor it is because of metagaming BoB. And it's not because they dented my pockets more than they know. It's simply because it's fun.

    Do I regret joining Dreddit....no. Do I think that null-sec is fun...yes!

AAR: TEST Eagle fleet attacked a Fortizar in Querious along a potential evac route out of Delve. Goons formed Muninns and bridged into system, forcing TEST to retreat with the repair timer ticking. Horde reinforcements bridged into system, and combined PAPI forces warped back to the Fortizar. A crazy brawl ensued in which PAPI forces struggled to keep the Fortizar paused while brawling. Goons were very good at reshipping, with many scimitar pilots dying three or four times. The repair timer reached 43 seconds at its lowest before Goon forces retreated. Fortizar was successfully reinforced.

GFs all around, one of the best brawls I've had this war.

    1.9k guristas anoms (almost)

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 03:28 PM PDT

in HS only . data stats :

    https://imgur.com/TljUnSu

was doing 29.5 anom per hour. so total was 64H of farming ; then 10 minute per ded4 and 25 per ded5 including travel.

    loot :

    ded5 https://evepraisal.com/a/zdfk5 1b1 for 8 sites (total 200min)

    ded4 https://evepraisal.com/a/zdfki 1b8 for 84 sites (total 840min)

    commanders(mixed) https://evepraisal.com/a/zdfks 240M for 70 commanders

    commanders(copper : hideway and burrow) https://evepraisal.com/a/zdfl3 87M for 24 commanders

    commanders(silver : refuge) https://evepraisal.com/a/zdflr 14M for 16 commanders

    commanders(brass : den) https://evepraisal.com/a/zdfm1 350M for 8 commanders

total time farm escals then do them 81:20 hours ; total value 3b6 => average 44M/h. That's not including the bounties but also excluding the ammos cost. It's very very low.

Next time I need a better route to find ded5 since they are the most valuable part. Basically we can say the loot is 10% for the deadspace, that is all items have 10% chance to drop. That was the same ratio I had for angels, and it seems consistent with high enough data. However sometimes you will make very bad luck streak, as much for anoms as for loot. So there seem to be ore than just plain luck. Also I got like 15% of the ded4s with nothing at all but the OPE.

Thukker Mix Jaguar Vs Core Complexion Jaguar

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 07:56 PM PDT

So I miss the old Mini Vagabond Jaguar (always should have had the AC falloff bonus...), but I get the change to a missile boat to provide more variety to the Minmatar AF line up. That said, a few things have always bugged me:

    1. Change the SKIN to the new t2 manufacturing company (And give us all the SKIN of the Thukker version, or sell it for PLEX, but I'd like the Thukker SKIN still); NO company would keep painting something like their rival company.
    2. Give it back 3x Turret Hard Points; I would love to fly my Mini Vagabond fit still, plus it still looks like the Vagabond's little brother anyways... Unbonused turrets shouldn't be a big deal, but gives the ship a bit of that Minmatar wildcard feel.

Anyways it wouldn't be a huge change but would definitely reinforce the spirit of the missile platform change (yes I know it was forever ago), but at the same time revitalize the spirit of the old Thukker Mix Jaguar too.

If it takes 5 minutes to update trig and edencom to positive, why is this content relevant.

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 09:03 PM PDT

I was thinking long and hard about this. Trig content, edencom which to choose. Well, one I realized you can do both, then all I needed to do was spend 5 minutes ( or an hour depending ) to shoot 1-2 rats. Spent more time finding the right rats than the shooting.

Anyways I started writing a note to someone who was complaining about trig's messing with fw. I almost said "well it takes like 10 minutes to fix. Do that."

Then it hit me. If it is that easy then why does it even exist in the first place? Well, it's to chew through excess minerals. Fundamentally it exists to kill stuff forcing more minerals to be used. An indiscriminate gate camp, far more effective than whitebull or any other campers could do. Wipes everything off the grid. It also prevents autopiloting.

This issue is that it isn't indiscriminate. It requires rep to fix and once fixed is a non-issue for the rest of your play time.

But who does this hurt? Well people who read up, all benefit. Those who don't, struggle. You know who continually struggles? New players. You know who absolutely has no idea about trig's until they are killed by the first? New players....

If you want to fuck people over who actually have ships which cost minerals? Players with BS, caps, freighters. Those actually cost minerals. Killing a frigate or a cruiser means nothing. What happens when you create a trig camp in uedama? People now get creative to get goods from now 2 separate islands in eve.

If the goal is to starve the market, hit it where it hurts, but new players isn't the way. Just take the content out and either replace it with truly something indiscriminately killing things. Example would be a trig mother ship which plants like an incursion and then constellation is completely attacked. Player and npc structures alike. That purge sounds trig worthy, and give new incursion content.

Buying structures in post Legacy space. Interested in faction forts that still have rigs.

Want to preserve some of the New Eden history.
    Few points :

    • deal will be third partied by some CSM member or Chribba if he will be around somehow
    • don't expect full market price ... like it will die if you not sell , but this way you will get some of the isk
    • TEST owned structures are excluded, you already unachored all structures that i cared about - unless this will be a very good deal i will think about it.

    Contacts :
I will respond only to directors of corporations owning the structure.

Faction Warfare - My first time

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 07:49 PM PDT

I was hoping they'd be gentle but I forgot I was in New Eden for a moment I guess. I took a stab at FW with my PvE alt. Needles to say, I lost 3 frogs in about 8 minutes and most of that 8 minutes was jumping back to my safe space to get in another ship.

So besides the obvious "git gud", are there any suggestions on how to go about at least "getting a shot in edgewise" before I have run way with my capsule?

Edit: it was 2 Frigs not 3 frogs... typing is not my strong suit tonight.

Edencom Balance - Split Ammo Between Single Target and Chain lightning

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 08:00 AM PDT

One of Edencom's biggest issues is that the ship class can't do what every other ship can do on a base level. Focus down 1 target. The chain lightning gimmick is really only useful in certain PVE situations and potentially large scale fleet fights. At the cost of the chain lightning, single target damage is extremely low (both from a base dps value and application issue).

Outside those areas, there is no role for these ships, which is one reason they're floundering so much. We can't even properly test how OP (or not OP) the chain lightning mechanic is in large scale fights because so few people have fully trained into them and there isn't enough demand to provide incentive for industrial/PVE people to to build/farm the ships, modules and skillbooks. Training into Edencom is met with overpriced ships/modules, with subpar performance in most situations.

On a fundamental level, Edencom should be able to have access to single target ammo so they can do what every other ship can do; i.e kill single targets in a similar manner as their counterparts. Then when the need arises, utilize the chain lightning gimmick.

    Splitting the Ammo

The ammo split would look like this:

Long Range, low damage, lower application chain lightning mechanic (Strikesnipe, Mesmerflux and Slambolt)

Short range, high damage, higher application single target ammo (ElectroPunch, Galvasurge and Blastshot)

The Cost of Splitting the Ammo

There should be a penalty with the ammo split and when switching ammo types. This would be to prevent situations in a fleet where you have a long range (LR) chain doctrine that gets warped on-top of and they quick swap to short range (SR), high damage ammo. There should be a penalty if you get caught with your pants down, not just a reload away from melting people up close.

Swapping from LR to SR or SR to LR ammo would incur at least a 30 second reload time (could be longer). Swapping or reloading within your SR or LR ammo type (for example, Electropunch to Galvasurge) would not cause the reload penalty.

    Range and Estimated DPS

With the changes to single target ammo, the range would be shortened to an extent on Electropunch, Galvasurge and Blastshot while the LR ammo would remain the current stats. Rough estimate is about a 10-20% drop in range for the short range ammo's (depending on the ship size).

For estimated DPS for the single target ammo, keeping in mind the very high resistances for the frig/cruiser, a good estimate to shoot for would be:

(lower number is T1 and higher number is T2 SR ammo)

    Frigate = 140-175 dps

    Cruiser = 375-450 dps

Battleship = 900-1200 dps (including drones)

Changing the ammo in this way would at least provide some incentive for people to try these ships out more and "get their foot in the door" to scale them out for further testing. In turn this would provide more demand to get the industrial machine moving to making them semi-affordable (which creates a snowball effect of benefits and ease of access).

What's your petty gripe against CCP?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 02:02 PM PDT

We all know of and have talked about the various major concerns that we have, regarding Eve. But I want to know what some of your petty gripes are? You know. They things that really aren't that big of a deal, in the grand scheme, but annoy the living hell out of you, all the same.

For example, one minor thing that drives me nuts is the location of weapon hardpoints on various ships. Some of them make no got-dang sense. Like CCP requires there to be a hardpoints per so many m² of Hull space. Like, ok CCP, put a hardpoint there even though there's not enough hull in that spot to either support it, structurally, nor for there to be any kind of magazine or ammo storage (nvm the Torpedoes on SB hulls, where there's literally not enough ship to store more than a few volleys of ammo). The Rokh is a perfect example. The old hardpoint locations were neat, orderly, and made sense from a practical standpoint. But, for SOME damned reason, CCP took the time to go, "Nah. Scrap that and throw the guns haphazardly around the hull."

It's probably just my OCD, but damn does that bother me.

    So? What's your petty gripe?

I'm a Uni student doing research on Virtual economies and I have some questions.

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 03:06 PM PDT

EDIT - Yeah turns out I confused Eve and Eve Echoes. My bad! So ignore the part about Tier 7 schematics haha

First of all thank you for taking the time to answer.

    1. When looking at the CCP's economy report I noticed that the Mineral Price Index started to soar around late 2019. From what I understand (and how I originally found this community) this was due to the fact the tier 7 schematics were introduced. However, when looking at Adam4EVE charts, despite the noticeable increase in late 2019, the same upwards trend doesn't continue. Also, there is a huge value spike in early 2019 that doesn't show up in CCP's charts. Are these charts composed of different variables? Why are they so different? What explains the aforementioned spike in Jan 2019?
    2. Again, looking at the CCP's charts in Jan 2019 we can see downwards trend in Bounty payouts. What was the reason for this? Furthermore, what caused the large downwards spike in Jul 2019? Then we can see a recovery but a drop off again in Nov 2020. Could the recovery be potentially caused by players trying to make extra cash for mining operations since the Mineral market was a great opportunity? Also looking at previous data it can be seen that bounties were a huge player in the economy, therefore after the downward trend we can see a decrease in money supply. Are these 2 variables interlinked with each other?
