    Unpopular Opinion: The mineral redistribution is actually good for EVE.

    There are currently two effects in play: Scarcity (changes to ore compositions) and mineral redistribution (what's available based on security status).

    These are two different effects, but they are being conflated as just 'Scarcity' in discussions. But the mineral redistribution is actually independent of Scarcity, because minerals can be redistributed without actually changing quantities.

    Redistribution is actually good for the game. While people have always mined in LowSec, now people are placing serious infrastructure in order to support Rorqual/Orcas. People are moving to LowSec and I'm seeing a lot more activity, even in the backwater area I live in. It's also a good balance pass overall for NullSec mining, but perhaps hasn't gone far enough based on the MER.

    When CCP rolls back 'Scarcity' I hope they leave redistribution. I'm making a killing on Nocxium right now because the number of miners willing to dip into LowSec hasn't reached saturation yet, and probably won't for a long while.

    The redistribution is fine for the game. It's not fine for miners who aren't willing to take risks - and that is absolutely okay.

    There's not enough SKINs in actual faction colors

    Maybe it's just me, but there's almost no SKINs for Gallente ships that are actually green, and flying something Gallentean that isn't green feels wrong. There's basically base, Valimor Legacy, occasionally Luminaire Zenith, aaaaaaand... that's it?

    Excited about my first death in PvP! Would like critique.

    Background-

    So I first played even in 2019 for a month and abandoned it due to distraction before I got into it. I always wanted to get back in but never did till last week. I hopped on my same newb account (1.5M SP) and just mined a few days while working from home, semi afk.

    I've read alot of posts and watch a few videos but I'm a bit slow. Had 50 bucks cash back on a CC so I bought some omega just for the x2 training and 250k SP just for giggles. No real money spent.

    The setup-

    I decided to look for a fight knowing full well I'd probably die. I spent about 2M of my 17M ISK on a Merlin and fit it with a T1 version of what an example rig I read about. Tried to understand what everything did and why.

    Went to Tama and warped around alot, tried to use and understand D Scan found nothing, evaded a Cruiser and Battle ship or two and went to bed.

    Tonight I went back. Same intentions.

    The fight-

    Warping around between gates, safe spot and asteroid belts. A Merlin evaded me and I was too slow to take my shot against an Amarr frigate. I'm so focused on my dscan when a venture warps onto my grid and away. I try to follow him to a belt, nothing.

    D scanned trying to find him and can't so I assume he's in a safe spot and keep trying when suddenly he pops up unexpectedly 10km away from me. I thought sweet in range of my webifier! In that moment a Tormentor drops out of warp and lights me up.

    I froze because I hadn't expected or rehearsed. Decided stay locked on venture open fire and use webifier but they quickly destroyed my ship. Tormentor warped off and Venture looted the wreck.

    Conclusion-

    I was ready for the loss so I don't mind I just wish I had put up a better fight.

    I think what I learned was always have an alignment while d scanning, and do it from a safe spot preferably.

    Learn more about ship types to know right away what I'm up against and how to prioritize targets.

    I want to learn about employing combat probes because I think thats how the Venture found me but the Expanded probe launcher won't fit on my Merlin bc CPU. Also because I want to be able to warp to 10km of them which if I understand correctly combat probes would allow.

    Banderlogs Alliance Alive vs Toilet Paper/Quote Alliance/Volta and Co etc

    Good day, Eve pilots,

    Banderlogs Alliance https://zkillboard.com/alliance/99001317/ living at NPC tree. It is mass recruiting alliance, often we make crazy things, fails, some times take suicid fights (why not?), and some times winning battles. We have a lot of newbies, carebears (I was ratting with 6-7 ishtars/vni :) ).

    In Banderlogs Alliance history were burned fully by Horde/GOTG twice in 2016-18, we lost all our citadels/claim, but when we were attacked we didn`t give up or make deal/join to horde/become renter/pet, ask time move out assets etc).

    We attacked GOTG member Mordus Angel alliance SOV each day after that, entosing, camping, dropping, attacking miners.

    Horde tried to mine but we didn`t allow them even when they got home def, we were jumping with t1 destroyers and made suicid kills, bombing. Even though we were much more weak that time, we didn`t give up.

    We got our space back later when Imperium was going to attack GOTG, we had no standings, staying neutral but that was enough for GOTG because they had no power to protect PB (most of other alliances who got SOV in Pure Blind lost it and 3 alliances disbanded after few lost battles https://evemaps.dotlan.net/alliance/Cascade_Imminent they joined to Goonswarm, https://evemaps.dotlan.net/alliance/99007444 lowsec pvp oriented small alliance :) disbanded, https://evemaps.dotlan.net/alliance/99008035 also lowsec alliance disbanded) .

    Our mid citadels and half small citadels were destroyed by 2-3 imperium fleets.

    Then there was local fights with small alliances, we got French Connection and Old School as allies. Caldari Military lowsec coalition started to attack PB then Triumvirate also invaded region.

    AU tz is not our primary TZ, but since that time most of attackers had mostly EU prime time we had to set AU timers. We could survive (triumvirate got other problems with snuff). One of most funny episodes is when we had defence timer of hub in one system, Triumvirate tried to take it with 60-70 man fleet, as I remember we had 15-20 people online that time. Ranger Regiment also decided to attack that hub, and they started to fight each other, dropped dread bombs approx 40 dreads each side. Aand Hub was saved. Unfortunately later their FC could communicate and found that both of them are attacking Banderlogs and they worked together for some time.

    Later after some fun fights against UFC we decided make blue standings. Unfortunately after GOTG disbanded and Deklein was divided between French Connection, UFC and Banderlogs we had to choose when French connection and UFC broke up and started fight each other. Now I understand that we needed to support French Connection or at least not interfere (Triumvirate was joining French Connection against UFC).

    Trigger Happy also attacked us and grew up a bit fast.

    When Volta first attacked UFC, they offered us to join them against UFC, but we decided to follow our agreement with UFC (Later for different reasons when UFC lost several fights in US tz they made deal twice with Volta, but we got to know post fact-um, when we placed our hub dek Volta told they got all dek from UFC. Probably Volta thought that we kinda UFC pets :) )

    Now lets return to now days.

    Our enemies say we blob all the time (blob means count each talwar/slasher and all other t1 frigs/destr vs Caps/Faction BS etc)

    Banderlogs enemies now (unfortunately zkb doesn show all power, but total dreads they can drop now should be more than 120-150, and mother ships 40-80)

    Now compare powers and tell, why they say blob, why Volta only themselves took Whole Fade/Deklein from UFC and their US TZ friends in 1-2 weeks (US tz is same difficult for Volta like AU tz) and bring 3 alliances while having cap supremacy all the time to take 2 constellations from Banderlogs in 3 Month in Deklein.

    We decided to try to shoot Volta bridge, why not? :)

    Bridge killed, tried to entose hub, but our brave slasher was killed by sabre ).

    All the time while we were shooting it, Starfleetcommander was threatening our diplo. That they going to evict us etc Most funny is that previously he already wrote [15:32] StarFleetCommander: i dont trust you to be anywhere near my space [15:33] StarFleetCommander: so im going to put you in a cage [15:33] StarFleetCommander: and you can stay there", they help Toilet Paper against us and so on. Fortunately X70 NPC station is near his space :) and we can reach his space with BO/dreads from there.

    And when they cry that we blob/au tz timers remember all that, think critically, why such strong PVP communities made so much effort to do smth with crabs/losers etc from Banderlogs Alliance. We survived here all the time under pressure from different power blocs, strong mid alliances. We gonna enjoy eve, and wish that they will find fun in eve other than making safe ratting space with blues around :)

    CCPs new Federation Grand Prix leads you through several areas of EVE. You need to travel to different Points and monuments to get Skins, Training Booster etc. It also leads you to Low- and maybe Nulls-Sec (i havent done it all by now). As i can see most of the Points are already camped with Insta-Lock Gangs, Smartbomb ships and so on... I think especally for new palyer who dont know about instawarping/locking and dont have the skills/ships its only a big mess up. What do you think?

    Where to start after a long break?

    Hi everyone,

    I've been wanting to get back into Eve but I'm having a problem where I log in and just become overwhelmed by everything.

    I tend to play the game in waves, like 3 months on, 6 months off type thing. I get heavily into it but then when I come back I've got so much 'old' stuff going on (bit of manufacturing, planetary stuff and items spread around various stations) that I don't know where to start with it all.

    Does anyone have any ways they prefer dealing with this?

    Also seems like a fair few changes to try and catch up on too, it feels like Eve has a never ending steep learning curve! :D

    Snuffed Out's deployment to Lantorn has left many Siege Green structures with both armor and hull timers, as well as many other structures against the warzone

    Today, Siege Green and allies formed to defend their Azbel, but ultimately failed due to the amount of dreads on field.

    Snuffed brought TFIs with dread/FAX support, Siege Green had long range dreads on the Azbel with a mach fleet with FAX support, and T1KLE and friends brought HML tengus with jams to support Siege Green against Snuffed Out

    3 hour battle, 200B lost
