EDIT: Sanity Sunday - I'm going to call bullshit out as I see it and try to keep conversation grounded to reality. /u/SapporoJones we might need a sanity sunday theme if not a thread. Calling you out because opposite sides so if we agree people can't be mad. Lot's of subs do sanity Sunday to throw out normal shit and make stupid shit go away for a day which I think you'd support.

Before I start my diatribe - let's get some shit out of the way.

I am a goon
I have only ever been a goon
I am extremely biased
I understand this is a fucking game and think too many of you take it way too seriously

Okay, now that we have that out of the way, we can actually get to what I wanted to discuss. I quit eve back in July of 2018. I had zero desire to get back into the game, but after watching the war propaganda machine start churning I decided I had to get back in.

I've always monitored the subreddit from a distance - and have seen what can only be described as extremists on both sides. I've loved watching all of the back and forth, and all of the propoganda that has come out of it.

I went from just being an f1 monkey, to now being involved in skirmish commanders and trying to learn to FC in a beneficial way. I have made more friends in goons, joined more SIG's and Squads then I ever had.

People say that bad times build strong people, and I fully believe that now. I've never been so invested in the game, and never been so happy to fly with the people I do.

PAPI thinks they'll win off of grinding us down and killing our will to fight, but I just want to say that mentality brought me back to the game with dedication that has never been there before.

I look forward to the ultimate showdown (of the ultimate destiny) - I assume there will be good guys, bad guys, and explosions - as far as the eye can see.

I'm glad Eve is still churning and people are still fighting. Thanks for joining my TED talk.

Im unable to login both in-game or on the eve website.

Its stuck at "authenticating" in the client

I tried going to the accound management page and i get this error:

On the recently rediscovered writings of one Travis Keikira

Among the latest batch of discoveries by our intrepid team of Imperial archaeologists, led by Zweitschlag, is a series of short writings made by one Travis Keikira. While Zweitschlag et al were quick to dismiss these as mere rants of no literary significance,[1] careful intertextual analysis and the application of the latest techniques in postmodern criticism suggest that the writings are fragments of a hitherto unknown work of epic poetry.[2]

Background

The four fragments of writing were recently recovered from a Horde communications cache and appear to be connected. A cursory analysis shows that they were all written by someone going under the name of 'Travis Keikira' at about the same date.[1] The fragments are attached below.

Debate on origin - Classical or Germanic?

The first question we face is whether this work belongs to the Classical (Greco-Roman) or Germanic (North European) tradition. Some have pointed to the word 'irc', clearly an alternate spelling of 'irk', as possibly suggesting a Latin influence.[3] However, we would like to point out the repeated use of the word 'fuck' (from West Germanic fokker, meaning shepherd or cattle breeder, and possibly meaning something along the lines of 'to herd or breed sheep or cattle') and the heavy use of flyting (which, while not entirely absent in Greek writings, is much more common in the Norse and Anglo-Saxon traditions) to suggest that the piece is of broadly Germanic origin. We further point to the lack of small letters and many types of punctuation marks (such as commas and apostrophes), both features of old Norse runes. Together, we hold these to be strong evidence of a North Germanic origin, with possible later Latin influence (a feature found in many surviving north European inscriptions).

Oriental influences

The author seems to be well aware of multiple Oriental texts, using, for example, concepts from the ancient treatises of Master Sun.[4] The speaker of these fragments is shown lulling their opponents into a false sense of security, by letting enemy spies report them as an overexcited, foul-mouthed berserker. The second fragment also indicates that the speaker took months to artfully manoeuvre their opponents into a dead end, instead of foolishly charging head-first into a well-prepared hostile formation. Finally, we suggest that the over-the-top yet well-fashioned dialogue, and Latinisation of words like 'irk' are clear references to Master Araki's Heisei Era work ジョジョの奇妙な冒険.[5]

The Mystery of Fragment 1

While the other fragments contain full, if unusually constructed, sentences, fragment 1 contains only three words, none of which appears to be a verb. Some have suggested that 'op' is a misspelling of 'up', while others argue that this phrase is a title, chapter number, or even some sort of cipher.[3][6]

Conclusion

We conclude that more excavations need to be conducted at the Horde archaeological site to unearth more fragments of the works of this 'Travis Keikira', as they appear to be of unique literary significance. We also recommend that the existing material be studied in greater detail, so as to better understand its hidden meanings.

Good afternoon evening or goodnight depending on where you're at, this is the Counterpoint TL;DR to Marcus Murphy's TL;DR.

It should be noted that my outline of the show is in no way or shape an official Imperium perspective on things, I just exist to be the Robert Novak to One Meta Minute Marcus Murphy's Tucker Carlson, from the Legacy/Papi side o' the fence.

Without further ado, let's get rolling!

Today's Meta Show "Eat My Ass" Counter is 5, with a special addition of Brisc using "Finger Quotes" a total of 21 times.

The show opened with a nice replay of Srsli's latest video opus SMells Like Goon Spirit. Much kudos to his singer who rumor has it, just started running level 1 missions for the cause.

We then panned to a "Meta Show – Cribs Special" wherein we got to see both Brisc and The Mittani's magnificent offices. This featured a spaceship collection, Brisc's replica musket and I think a sword, as well as several model ships. The fabled fish tank made an appearance and did not disappoint.

It would appear both Brisc and The Mittani (Prince of Period Basis, Duke of Delve) were channeling their inner Bill Hicks's as there was a lot of swearing today but I mean cmon, you are not watching the Meta Show to see Martha Stewart bake a nice cake. You're there for the raw 80's WWE heel action.

Key Points of both soapboxes and data as presented by Brisc Duvel, I mean Rubal and The Mittani, Prince of Period Basis, Duke of Delve, striker of fear and loathing into Papi's Palpating Hearts.

/r/eve moderation was an issue earlier in the week, with certain mods ensuring activation of the Barbara Streisand effect. While the mods generally do a good job, this week raised some eyebrows. In their defense, the mods seem to have scaled back and are taking steps to self-correct.
An alternative to /r/eve has been formed and will be held over the heads of the mods should they decide to activate the Streisand Affect again.
Currently the Imperium is holding 1DQ, under siege, for over 3 weeks versus 3/1 odds.
- It would appear PAPI's slow sword is so slow it is not even hit the shield yet.
  - Turtle procreation takes less time than the siege of 1DQ will.
PAPI has turned the game a blue donut on par with Serenity.
They hope to become New Eden's Landlords, dictating how you play the game, earn money, or wage war.
Under their vision of the game, you will be a renter, be it in High Sec, Low Sec or Null sec. You will play how they want you to play, or you will be hunted down by the LandLords Alliance.
It should be noted that at it's start, this was a "war of extermination" on the Imperium, then an action to prevent The Imperium from doing exactly what has been done by the 103 aligned alliances as of today, turn the entire nullsec map into a blue donut.
The Imperium will hold the PAPI Leadership and its enablers accountable for their actions, and the effects it has had on the game.
Normann T from INIT has yet again proved via his mathematical wizardry that Imperium participation is way up, and there is a sharp decrease from TEST and NC.
- BRAVE shows an uptick in participation.
- INIT is way up in participation, having come off a R&R session.
INIT and other Imperium allies are seemingly pulling some if not all (rumors of 1600 pilots) out of position from the "Siege" of 1DQ to defend their home space.
Brisc brought it to our attention that TEST alliance had performed worse than the 2020 Detroit Tigers entire season, full on wiping out in the Anger Games.
