Once a week we provide an additional space for Corps/Alliance to post recruitment, and for people looking for a Corp to sell themselves.

    Please consider in your post to include;

    • Area of space (NPC/Sov Null/ Wormhole/ Low/High sec)
    • Type of Corp (Indy/Small gang/F1 blob)
    • Main and active timezones
    • Any requirements of SP/Alts etc
    • Any external discord/website links

You can also post your recruitment on /r/evejobs which is open for recruitment all week - however keep in mind you can only post a fresh thread there once your previous post is 7 days old.

So, you are thinking about PI?

    Posted: 05 May 2021 12:05 PM PDT

Hello and a wonderful day to all of EVE. Even you bad guys.

In a thread today the topic came up in regards to the click heavy nature of PI. Long story short, I asked if someone wanted to know how click heavy it was. So, I figured why not share here. Because surely the devs know how click heavy and clunky it is currently, right?

    Also, TL:DR at bottom.

I'll just detail it from a top down perspective and it can be extrapolated from there. Let's assume a few basic things.

    1. The character has maximum PI skills.
    2. The set up is going for maximum efficiency and output and assumes the person setting it up has a good understanding of worlds.
    3. We are avoiding using large gas planets where connections eat up an insane amount of power grid.
    4. No clicks taken prior to the planetary screen will be included.
    5. We are setting up a resource gathering world, rather than factory.

Initial stage is to undock and either hover on tether, cloak in space or however you feel comfortable. Select your world and go to the preview screen. Let's go ahead and hit the scan button (1). We want to know which resource layout looks like for this world. Yo have up to five options and can scroll around(5). Let's assume on initial layout, you will review all five resources to determine what set of assets will be most beneficial. Next, let's lay down the command center. Click build, click the command center and then where to put it down (3). Let's go ahead and click on the command center, upgrade it and confirm (3). Not a bad start.

Let's go ahead and select a drill head and put it down (2), select the storage it feeds into and place it (2), select the basic factory and place 9 of them as close as possible in a 3x3 format (10), select the storage and place two (3) and then select and place the launch pad (2).

Next we want to connect the drill to the storage (hold alt and click for speed) and then upgrade this connection (5). Then connect the storage to each of the three rows of basic factories and then to the storage at the end and the launchpad (30)

Let's go ahead and start the drill head (1), set down 10 drills (20) set it (1) and route it to storage (2). Go ahead and set up each of the nine factories with the item they will be producing and route it to one of the storage at the end of the launchpad. I personally do 4 / 4 / 1. There is a double click included in this process of selecting the factory, selecting schematics, double click on the item, route it and set it. So six clicks per. (54)

An hour later your head will have deposited it's first run into your storage. Let's go ahead and route it. Select the head, select route, double click the resource and double click the location to route to. So that's another six clicks per basic factory (54).

Congratulations. You have clicked 170 times and completed your first world.

Only five more to go for this character.

Your total was 1,020 clicks for this character. At the height of my PI expansion I had clicked 127,500 times for set up of 125 planets.

Depending on frequency of pulls from a day to seven and if you move heads each time to just leaving them in the same place (which will massively impact your production) you can expect to click another few times a few per planet (for absolute garbage output) to another hundred clicks.

As an example, I began at three day pulls. I reviewed each scan and moved heads for each world each time. (23). This was repeated 10 times in a month, so my upkeep clicks was (230) clicks per planet. Eventually, I began skipping moving heads if they were good enough. After a few months of this I changed to seven day cycles and moved the heads each time. So this reduced overall clicking to around (92) clicks per month per planet. Originally this was around (28,750) clicks per month of upkeep for me and dwindled to (11,500). This doesn't include getting the Epithal to each of the six planets, which can be impacted by travel time to each one and if they are in different systems.

AS far as pick-up? Once a week. A chunk of clicking to move the resources from pad to poco, from storage one to the pad, from pad to poco, the other storage to pad and pad to poco. (23) clicks per planet.

So far, for one world running at maximum efficiency at a three day cycle you will have invested (492 clicks) in your first month and then (322) per month at seven day pulls and one week collection.

Now, this is slightly under valued by the fact that this set up will require one dedicated mass factory world per eight p1 worlds. They take more to set up, click wise. Depending on just how you set them up, they can take as much as 50 % more clicks for initial set up, however the weekly deposits and pick ups are a little less click intensive, but not more than 15-20 %.

So, for a single max skilled character you can expect for your first six worlds to click as many times as 1,020 for a good set up and 2,952 clicks for upkeep and production at three day cycles or 1,932 clicks for seven day cycles.

How much is this worth? Depending on where you are located and the quality of the world, frequency of drilling and how closely you move the heads to the high resource areas on the planet will all impact this. What you produce also has an impact. Lastly, taxes for the poco will impact this, especially when you need to ship resources up and back down and up again. At the end of the day, from my experience with pocos that were at 5 % or less and in null this was worth around 50-80m a month per planet with seven day cycles and around 70-100m a month at 3 day cycles. This was producing a high amount of p2s in demand (things for fuel blocks) and p3s (robotics for all the t2 guns) and p4s depending on the monthly demand. Low sec worlds will be a little to a lot less than this due to quality. Anywhere from 20-50 % less. High sec being less than half of this amount. Also, the more people using the world (particularly of importance in high sec due to player density or say... Delve a few years ago) you will see less resources coming in.

This number is based on volume and being able to produce p3s to p4s due to your massive volume across a number of planets. If you are going to run a one or two character set up, you might not get as much out of it due to volume and being relegated to splitting production and output. Also, if you try to do more than one resource per world your margin goes down radically due to the power grid needs of the second drill head.

For maximum output, this method used four worlds pulling one resource and four worlds pulling another and then one world converting this into the p2. This set up was repeated for the other p2. Then all of this was combined at a factory world for p3. This set up was 19 planets and I don't recall how many tens and hundreds of thousands of robotics Kenny bought from me, but it was enough for hundreds of dread t2 guns.

    TL:DR

Setting up one world is 170 clicks and 332-492 clicks per month of upkeep.
Setting up a character is 1,020 clicks and 1,932-2,952 clicks per month of upkeep.

At this point? I couldn't in good conscience recommend it to someone planning to do it on a large scale. Maybe a few characters to dabble, but until they implement a template that is shareable between characters and multiple settings/layouts for drill heads for ease of moving drills.. I just wouldn't recommend it.

Edit: Forgot clicks per planet on set up, when clicks the slider bar for time duration. Assuming you you can get it to the EXACT time you want in one click, rather than a few due to not being able to input the exact amount.

When you open Planetary industry, open one of your planets, everything will hide, so now you have to click on Planetary Industry again, then you click on next planet and cycle repeats. 6 planets = 6 more clicks. * You have to click on the Enable always above fullscreen views.

How can I get lots of money fast?

    Posted: 05 May 2021 06:42 PM PDT

I just started playing EVE today, and I have 60k right now. I'm trying to get a good mining ship / mining turrets, but all the blueprints or items for sale are all ~1 million (really expensive basically)

How can I get money faster, or how can I get these things easier?
