    Eve Online WTF CCP?? Seriously?

    WTF CCP?? Seriously?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 07:56 AM PDT

WTF are you thinking to push a patch that fundamentally changes mechanics critical for how people move around, and, being in the middle of the biggest war in the history of videogames, NOT PROVIDE EXPLICIT WARNING and NOT SEED THE NEW BLUEPRINTS IN ADVANCE?

All of the nullsec entities currently have hundreds of scouts deep into enemy territory, which in the span of minutes went from having everything sorted out to move around and do their work, to be completely screwed and without the possibility to adapt. And what about all these characters (explorers, solo hunters, travelers...) that yesterday logged off in a T3C or an interceptor in a remote area of nullsec just to wake up to a nasty surprise? These things take careful planning and preparation, the sort of gameplay Eve is supposed to reward.

To be clear, I don't oppose the change itself or the new modules. I oppose HOW you're implementing it, in a rushed, unprofessional manner; without giving explicit warning this was going to happen today, and without pre-seeding the blueprints so all the people whose playstile depends on this can prepare and adapt accordingly.

Much in the line of the "no more asset safety in abandoned structures" patch, you seem to be really putting an effort in making the players not trust your word and your way of doing things. You don't seem to realize these "fuck you" patches completely erode the trust your clients, both current and potential, have in CCP as a company; and puts into serious question your internal work flow, development processes, and, more importantly, the level of respect you have for said clients.

CCP. Glad the first two things I see when logging in are literal ADS and not the major update that was just pushed to TQ...

    Scarcity got you down?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 06:07 PM PDT

Find yourself angry at CCP and their "direction" of the game? It doesn't matter if it's these most recent changes or it's the compounding stupidity of their development for the past number of years, but I can tell you there's a path to righteousness that doesn't involve your 5000-word essay on how you would change something.

    Solution? Highsec ganking!

See I started playing back in 2012 and have seen CCP nerf or straight up remove my emergent gameplay multiple times. I used to be an angry lad, always bitter at CCP and what they've done to this sandbox but no longer do I suffer from an unreasonable hatred of these simple-minded developers that are single-handedly driven by a money grubbing philosophy!

How did I do it? Well instead of straight up quitting or threatening to unsub, I've turned to SP farming 26 accounts and running 20 of them as gankers! Now instead of being angry all the time I simply log on for my daily therapy session and grief the living shit out of CCP's wallet warriors and whales in Highsec! I could just unsub and deny them my cash but why not inflict maximum damage to their bottom line before quitting when ganking eventually gets nerfed into oblivion? See ganking is the last bastion of emergent gameplay for me personally, so when it's gone I'll be gone. Might as well take as many out with me along the way right?

So if scarcity has your income knee-capped or you just want to get back at the man why not join me by tossing a figurative Molotov cocktail on their pile of trash!

If you are interested in joining the destruction and targeting of CCPs wallet, feel free to mail me in game (Faylee Freir). If you simply want to learn how to do this on your own I'm also willing to teach! So feel free to reach out to me on discord as well: benji#9806

This is obviously a meme but I am offering individuals the chance to learn how to make a good source of income amidst this scarcity.

CCP, rapid iteration does not demand only 1-week test cycles

    Posted: 18 May 2021 11:09 AM PDT

I am happy that Team Talos is trying to make a comeback here, but last week's nulli change created a lot of healthy debate on this forum...

NOBODY in the course of these debates probably expected that their feedback would be implemented on SISI on a Monday, and then DEPLOYED TO THE LIVE GAME WITHIN 24 HOURS FROM THAT POINT

There was so much ground left to cover in this debate... it's really crazy to me that you guys would just launch it so quickly after making huge fundamental changes to the patch (like moving the slot from low to high)

We don't need you to do this. You can take more time. I will boldly offer that our community is satisfied just that there IS action, even if that action takes some weeks or even months to percolate... we don't need you guys slamming changes through SISI on 6 day timelines... especially ones that break a lot of ships....

I have from time to time been extremely critical of you guys (CCP) dragging your feet on bringing changes to this game... but there's got to be some middle ground between "say and do literally absolutely nothing for 2 months" and "announce and deploy a major team talos patch in 1 week, including a single day iteration phase"

What's the story here? How is this okay? What's the rush?

    Funeral service for Luxury Yachts

    Posted: 18 May 2021 04:58 AM PDT

I regret to inform everyone that at 11:00GMT, the Victorieux Luxury Yacht passed away.

Through the years we knew it for its steadfast ability to get you from point A to point B at lightening speeds in comfort and style. When aboard the luxury yacht you could be assured safety from smart bombs and bubbles alike. You could keep your parties with exotic dancers private with the ability to cloak as you blast through the galaxy, taking in the sights along the way. Those days have sadly come to an end. You now must make a compromise and chose to either cloak or be nullified during your travels and we all know, luxury isn't about making compromises. You might as well use an interceptor at this point, it aligns faster and therefore has less of a chance of being caught (and carries more). Sure the EHP is less but does that really matter when you get pointed in your <2 second align yacht? I think not. I invite you all to undock your yachts today, self-destruct and hold a cyno vigil. Thanks CCP, for this engaging gameplay change. I love slogging through bubbles and getting pointed.

An open letter to EVE's community team. #Sheltark4Partner

    Posted: 18 May 2021 06:38 PM PDT

The following is an open letter to CCP's community team. It concerns the Sheltark Sykari: the SS, the double-S, the Frigate Master Pilot, the OMGB, the giver of PTSD.

Why is it that the best EVE streamer with: the best production values; the best content; the most engaged audience; who puts more effort into his stream than anyone else on Twitch; and, is the best there ever was, is, or will be, has not been made an EVE partner?

The following is a subset of all reasons why the SS is a better EVE streamer than anyone else and should be made EVE partner:

    • Has a Discord. Doesn't have a whole bunch of channels, has just one that you can s*** up as much as you want.
    • His raffles are awesome. Instead of just giving them out he passes judgement, usually reminding candidates that they're terrible and don't deserve the prize. :D :D shelta3Troll shelta3Troll
    • Has heaps of engagement from his viewers. People are s***ing up chat the whole time he is streaming and paying attention to the stream. It's not some boring streamer that people ignore in the background while he mines some rocks.
    • Streams 7 days a week.
    • Drinks rum out of a 5 litre PET bottle.
    • Is the best there ever was, the best there ever is, and the best there ever will be.
    • Smashes
    • Dashes
    • Has used his Rambo skills to take down a military compound in South America.
    • Streams from a real pirate ship, equipped with sails, wench, and pirate flag.
    • Is a descendant of a long line of pirates. Sometimes summons spirits of said pirates.
    • Celebrates after every kill.
    • Invented words for things: scented candles, filamenté.
    • Earns his ship's skins, no matter how many people donate skins. They are only earned after a fixed number of scented candles appear on the ship, the number of which grows exponentially. The first 10 intervals of which are given by print([5*2**n for n in range(10)]).
    • His timezone on Okkamon coincides with AUTZ, thereby providing EVE streaming for a timezone often neglected by American and European streamers.
    • Has scheduled a hot-tub stream with Brisc 🧥🗡️ Rubal, in a bikini.
    • Is a triple threat: sings, dances, is alpha.

If my demands for Sheltark Sykari—the SS, the double-S, the Frigate Master Pilot, the OMGB, the giver of PTSD—to be made EVE partner are not met….. then I may politely ask again in the future! Think about that!!

EDIT: I meant to write CCP's community team. So enraged am I by this injustice that I mixed it up.

All the ships using the new Inndy Materials should drop a percentage of those materials from the salvage reliably.

    Posted: 18 May 2021 11:09 AM PDT

Baseline rates of how much material can drop from each ships salvage. (They should never drop 0 of these new materials in my opinion.

    Capitals = 5% - 12%

    Faction ships = 10% - 15%

    T1 Battleships = 15% - 25%

There are 2 primary benefits from doing this.

1.) You will incentivize all forms of content more than before because now there is a very real tangible value you can gain from it. So hunting Supers, Blops, etc, these things have benefits, but you can't loot the capital modules most the time, and there's no financial gain from it so it's not self sustainable.\

2.) This would effectively create a Quad Core type style mechanic, that would also help reduce the cost of all the ships by a little bit, and would make hunting these ships be a more sought out activity.

The breakdowns make it so you can help reduce the currently steep costs of battleships and help reduce the costs of capital hulls a little bit.

    Minor Addendums:

A.) This will give more benefits and incentive for hunting Orca's, JF, and Freighters, so they may need some kind of HP buff, because they are already being hunted while their hulls are empty. (With the exception of the Orca, now there will be a tangible benefit for killing Orca's)

Feel free to shit all over the idea, but there it is.

23 days of carnage (stats from the assault on the 1DQ constellation)

    Posted: 18 May 2021 07:57 AM PDT

    Greetings inquisitive internet spaceship pilots!

Following up on https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/n36edu/968bn_and_counting/ I have continued to run a br.evetools report each day for the active combat zone of the 1DQ constellation + neighbouring systems T5Z and E-V.

While the fleetspace campaigns are easy to set up and run for whole regions, the br.evetools reports provide a focused view of active combat for the 1DQ constellation, and in particular the SRP'able costs of combat and active PvP pilot numbers.

    The stats are pretty interesting, to say the least. And, now we have 23 days worth of data, some trends are emerging (Tuesday is partial data but includes the big slugfest last night);

    https://preview.redd.it/nqsr5grd5wz61.png?width=875&format=png&auto=webp&s=f8515b043d8cb958008d3fd1a59d5429d0ffc904

Immediate takeaway: With total losses of 3.75tn, the ISK war is 50/50. Dead on 50/50. Pretty incredible.

    Other interesting takeaways;

    • PAPI have fielded the most pilots on 11 days, Imperium have fielded the most pilots on 12 days
    • PAPI have won the ISK war on 10 days, Imperium have won the ISK war on 13 days
    • For the first week of the assault, PAPI outnumbered Imperium on 5/7 days
    • For the last week of the assault, Imperium outnumbered PAPI on 5/7 days
    • The day with the most active pilots was Friday 7th May (multiple fights in 3-D as both parties jostled for system/jump bridge/jammer control ahead of the first azbel timer)

Make of that what you will - I think it's fair to say that despite the epic fights, PAPI are no closer to making any meaningful progress into 3-D than they were 23 days ago.

The other trend that's clear is that Imperium's numbers are not declining, while there is a measurable drop in PAPI's numbers as Panfam get distracted in the drone regions.

    [Rant] *Scccrrreeeeeeee*

    Posted: 18 May 2021 11:12 AM PDT

Seems like so many of CCPs recent changes are half baked band aid fixes for issues that deserve to be solved with thoughtful consideration, to avoid catastrophic unintended consequences... you would imagine that decisions like

    • let's just put the belt rats on the gates
    • let's completely fuck fleet interceptors (and I guess nulli t3cs while we're at it)
    • let's ruin tactical bombing to fix afk camping (ignoring the sov implications)

Did CCP even engage with CSM on these changes or did CSM really sign off on this stuff? Consider especially the state of wcs/nulli when it hit SiSi... I know there was some rework, but that was presumably what CSM signed off on (assuming they were actually consulted)

At this point, they might as well just remove bombers/blops/force recons from the game, and leave just explo frigates and industrials with covert capabilities... They can remove sov from nullsec, since nobody is going to have the tools to create vulnerability in null sov for any but the smallest alliances.

The only real upshot of the first 2 "quadrants" of 2021, is that I can sell my supers for a massive profit and move to lowsec to fly T1 frigates Auto Claws until Star Citizen gets out of beta!
