New Research to Prove that Talking Smack in Local is Beneficial to Health? Posted: 10 Oct 2019 08:39 AM PDT A recent study performed at the University of Columbia concluded that the benefits of talking smack in local in Eve online actually stimulates growth in the limbic system; the part of the brain that handles emotion Edward Tory Higgins (Stanley Schachter Professor of Psychology) and his team performed a study on an Eve Online control group who's associations in game ranged from multiple alliances. The study was aimed to measure the impact on the brain from messaging obscenities and "hate-mail" to other players. Players were fitted with electrodes responsible for measuring specific levels of activity in the brain in various regions including, but not limited to the limbic system and the frontal lobe. During the controlled experiment, players were positioned to kill one another unaware that their attackers were in fact part of the same experiment. Once the ships were destroyed, players engaged in communication that some would refer to as; "things you wouldn't want your mother to see." The results were astounding; the computer measured a huge surge of activity from the limbic system (excitement, rage, etc.) while surprisingly enough, the frontal lobe responsible for handling logic showed little to no activity whatsoever. Comparisons to other brain activity scans were similar to those who suffer from severe mental retardation. The scientists at the university of Columbia concluded that the brain activity could increase the emotional instability in those who are unequipped to deal with emotional stresses, and others could lose brain activity in the frontal lobe as a direct result. Furthermore, tests to further study this claim will be conducted In Various scenarios in the Eve-verse including reactions from the non-receiving of fleet activity, or as Eve players call it; "blue balls," as well as reactionary emotions resulting from losing space after talking incredible amounts of smack in local chat. Posted: 10 Oct 2019 01:11 PM PDT Was scanning down my chain when the wifi decided to take a nose dive, while my probes were out. Sign back in maybe 30s later after the connections comes back on, and my probes are gone? Is there anything I can do to get them back? I got lucky this time and had a second set on me but if not I would be kinda up a creek without a paddle. (no, getting better wifi isn't an option, thank you campus wifi) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Oct 2019 11:55 PM PDT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v43j5xgID8E It may be admittedly 10-12 seconds too long but hey - girls, girls, girls... CCP should be advertising our space pleasure hubs in the Eve trailers lol, it's sure to attract the target demographic. [link] [comments] |
Bug: "Jump" option no longer available from a bookmarked Jump Bridge Posted: 10 Oct 2019 02:50 PM PDT I have all of my commonly used jump bridges bookmarked in personal bookmarks. Prior to today's patch, I was able to select "Jump" from these bookmarks which would work exactly the same as when you select "Jump" on a gate or "Dock" on a structure; it warps you to the gate/structure first, and then when you land it automatically jumps/docks you. Now the option on Jump Bridges is just gone, and only shows up if you are on grid with the bridge. CCPlease fix. [link] [comments] |
