I have 2 hours in the game, and I saw a vexor, decided to attack it, and another big ship helped me kill it, I looted it, and thought nothing of it and logged off. I come back today, just check me inventory and found that he had an item that sells for 5 million and multiple other high value items. Im so freaking happy man

Local Amarrian RP Group Dunks Dock Workers in epic David and Goliath throwdown. Amarr Victor!

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 12:26 AM PDT

AAR: The intrepid Lumen fighters prepared to defend their beloved home structure, the oldest standing Astrahus in all Sahtogas. Having witnessed the unholy desecration of their people through countless atrocities committed by the sinister "Dock Workers Alliance", they would stand by defenseless no more. Banding together any of Lowsec who would heed the call, Lumen fielded all vessels they could muster, starring down a much larger Leshak and Bhaalgorn fleet composition.

TLDR: Dock Workers used Dreads to shed the very last of Lumen caps at 0 metres of a Cap fit Astrahus, with perfectly good Leshaks on grid, eating shit and dying. …………. Panfam may also have helped a little 😉 GG, and Amarr Victor!

Update on the ongoing efforts to block HC and their PIRAT masters/allies/alts from taking over Osmon. P.S Come and mine the ice in Osmon, 3 ice fields are untouched most of the day.

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 10:46 AM PDT

In regards to the post I made before, I revealed how Hogs Collective has long been allied with, and is closely connected to PIRAT.

With a huge fleet of gankers, the wrecking of HC's orcas, miners and mission running ships has commenced. They are locked down in their Azbel within the high sec system they claim to own. HC has cried and accused endlessly about this one: https://zkillboard.com/kill/83365522/. They like to push other players around, but they don't like getting it back. They are bitter, sore losers.

There has been more wars and structure attacks in HC's attempt to push other players out of Osmon. PIRAT is now consistently war declaring the structure targets for HC's alt alliance for bashing newbie structures, AYPABTU. Why is PIRAT suddenly helping their little allies/alts so much? Because HC can't do anything for themselves besides destroy the structures of newbies and tiny corporations and these remaining structures are on the limits of their ability.

Osmon is usually a very busy system. But since HC came and destroyed all the structures, it has been a lot quieter. They chased most of the locals away by denying anyone the ability to compress. And also by suicide ganking anyone unwise enough to mine in a Retriever or Mack.

The first stage of f*** HC has been a shining success. HC hides the majority of the time. This means the ice is mostly untouched.

Now phase 2 of f*** HC has initiated. An astrahaus offering free compression was anchored and onlined. As expected, HC was quick to declare war on it. Knowing that HC can't actually beat anyone except for new players, we created a decent defense force and allied into the war. But HC are as risk averse as PIRAT. So we knew it wouldn't even come to a fight since they'll realise victory is not certain. They'll bring PIRAT in for this, it was assumed.

The next day PIRAT declares war on the 1 man astrahaus owner corp. Such a surprise!

It is extremely clear that there is a constant working together between HC and PIRAT. It's hard to say for sure exactly what is taking place, but their actions, past and present, show that they are closely aligned.

The efforts to prevent HC from taking over Osmon and pushing other players out will continue. The 3 ice fields there are now untouched for most of the day. All players are welcome to come and mine the ice in Osmon. You won't be ganked or bumped by the f*** HC forces, and we will provide compression services as often as possible. PIRAT will be busy helping their HC ally/alt by attacking the compression structure, but another will always be onlined to replace it.

HC might try to bump you, but they are not very good at it. And if they should try again, there's a gank fleet waiting to kill some more shitfit HC machs: https://zkillboard.com/kill/83495918/

Where's my 4D chess: Location, location, location! [Upwell geography]

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 08:13 AM PDT

Once more I have another of my short-form posts ready - this time about Upwell placement and what it's taken away from all of us.

I am writing down my views as I strongly believe my understanding of the game makes me an excellent CSM candidate - I want to make the game depend more on pilots in space than relying on boredom and immovable objects as a defence. My discord link is here: https://discord.gg/NxuVFfn

To save you a click, here's the post:

The concept behind Citadels and other Upwell structures is fantastic. In the sandbox, giving players a whole wealth of new toys they can assemble and defend – it's quintessential Eve Online.

Something almost all players can agree on is that the execution leaves a lot to be desired – most complaints are about the structures timer systems and defences.

One aspect often neglected for discussion is Citadel positioning – not mere alignment when deploying, but exactly where in a solar system a Citadel can be anchored.

As is my habit, I like to look back at what used to be and how it compares.

In the past, the biggest player structures – Outposts (nullsec conquerable player deployed stations) and POS (Player owned structures) had very strict limitations when it came to geography. Outposts could only be deployed at planet warp-in (and was limited to one per system) and POS were anchorable only at the rough warp-in point of moons.

What did this mean for combat?

For a start, the severe limitation on numbers gave fixed limited real estate. It wasn't possible to, in some systems, set up your own sandcastle unless you knocked one over beforehand and took the plot it rested on. This, in my mind, was a very positive aspect to the game – it limited the potential grind of sheer numbers of structures for an attacker, and for a defender, it limited the options an attacker had to establish a foothold.

In today's Upwell world, real estate means nothing – no limit to squabble over, and no limit to the size of an inhabitant's base.

Another geographical aspect has been affected as well - without the limit of location, players can have a giant amount of control over gates in solar systems by anchoring a base directly ahead of a stargate - allowing the owner to deploy forces in seconds to one of most important combat locations in New Eden - greatly limiting field control options of the attacker. This was another loss of depth and options for PvP in Eve today.

    Best Faction for Alpha Clone?

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 11:31 PM PDT

What is the best faction for an alpha clone for single player pvp? Are Gallente still the best for Alphas because I would rather avoid using drones. My current account is Caldari and I like the range and good speed, but ive read that they are better for pve, so which is best for pvp?

Spring cleaning of assets. Do you do it?

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 10:16 AM PDT

    Heyo

Every year I do a spring cleaning of my assets. I've noticed that over the year/s assets tend to gather up in random stations. Doctrine ships, from roams. Random loot dropped off or just activities I don't do any longer.

I was curious as to do other players do it. Right now I'm nearly finished with mine. Should have my assets only in Jita & Amarr only. Will be down from probably 20-30 so bit easier to see what I have.

I also do this to old ships I haven't flown in over a year or say 6 months. Capital ships, old roaming ships. Free's up a good amount of liquid and it really helps in seeing what ships I actually fly after cleaning out the old subcaps & caps.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts/experiences on this. Thanks. :)
