CCP Commits Greatest Heist In Eve History! Posted: 03 Jun 2020 07:28 AM PDT While we're all upvoting the multiple trillions of isk in loot from the abandoned structures mechanic, I'd like to remind everyone what a tragic mistake this all is. I see some of these caches, and it looks to me like five, ten, or fifteen years worth of work in some cases by what had to have been an extremely dedicated player of Eve. These would not have been abandoned unless the owner was absolutely confident in the structure safety mechanics. Confidence instilled by CCP repeatedly assuring the playerbase that these mechanics were reliable and and would be honored. This is not similar to wormhole space, where there has never been an assurance of asset security. This is not similar to the player constructed outposts, where another group coming in and deadzoning your assets was always a possibility. This is a direct betrayal of trust which will keep countless players from returning to the game in future years. Why won't they come back? I'll give an example. A few years ago, a close relative was diagnosed with cancer, for which I had to provide care for many months. I use a separate e-mail for managing my many gaming accounts which I rarely check while totally inactive. Probably a year went by before I'd have paid close enough attention to catch the extremely brief leadup to this change. I've played eve for almost fifteen years, but if I'd come back after all that to find all the structures I'd had to rapidly drop everything off in looted, I can 100% assure you I wouldn't be here posting this thread. We may be stealing five, ten, fifteen trillion isk off of people, but I know how hard some of those dudes must have played, and CCP has stolen years of their lives. Pour one out for all the capsuleers we're never getting back. [link] [comments] |

Triglavian induced null-sec is the greatest change in last few years of EVE Posted: 03 Jun 2020 03:19 PM PDT Triglavian null-sec elegantly eliminates capital drops coming in and spoiling the fun. It is like a time machine bringing us back to a happier time of sub-capital combat before grotesque cap and supercap proliferation. One system, zero rules of engagement, no strategic objectives. Fun spaceship pews for the sheer fun of it. I love everything about this. Thank you CCP. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Jun 2020 10:31 AM PDT Has anyone who is active actually lost stuff from a citadel yet and can comment on if they got an EVE mail or other notification? Does it include a list of what you lost? I am already imagining all the people who come back, look for something in their assets and cannot find it. "I know for a fact that I had XYZ and now it's not there, I think my account was hacked." [link] [comments] |

CCP Should reimburse old players if they lose assets due to this change Posted: 03 Jun 2020 01:34 PM PDT I am usually an advocate of HTFU. There have been plenty of changes that screwed with peoples playstyles, but are necessary for the game to continue to grow and evolve. This change however, whilst I agree with it in principle, is completely unfair to those who are unaware that it is happening. There are screenshots of containers dropping billions upon billions or in some rare cases HUNDREDS of billions worth of assets. Assets that CCP promised would remain safe where they were, and in fact in some official pages it STILL says that is the case: https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/208289365 If I were an old player, someone who had not played for a year or more, I'd have absolutely no idea that this is occuring, no way to get my stuff back, and I sure as hell would not want to continue to play knowing that everything I had worked for is gone.
CCP should reimburse players who have been gone since before this change was announced. Of course anyone since then should not be reimbursed because it opens up avenues for abuse, but for anyone who has not been around to even hear about this change, they should have their assets restored if they make a ticket requesting it. To not do so would be ridiculous. [link] [comments] |

So, I've been away from the game for a long time (3 years?). How are things for solo explorers? Posted: 03 Jun 2020 08:32 PM PDT I used to run an Astero in null for money, but I can also run T1 BS and pretty much anything below. I'm not opposed to joining a group in low or null or WH, but it seems like a lot of things have changed, to where I need to learn a lot of stuff over. [link] [comments] |
