My Grandfather Had Played This Game for 13 Years Posted: 23 Feb 2021 04:10 PM PST Hello, I am very very new to this game and my grandfather has passed away recently. Whenever I visited his and my Grandmother's house I would always find him playing Eve. My mother told me that he had been playing since the game came out and that he had shown her the game countless times. Now I am just getting into the game, and remembering seeing him playing the game, I wonder if any of you people who had played the game for a long time knew him. His real first name is Brian, but in the game my Mom said his name was Bob, and he called himself a carebare. So if any of you guys think you know him let me know, or tell me more about him from this game. [link] [comments] |

Hi, NightDocs here. Eckhardt's Ladder and I need some help for an upcoming big video project. Posted: 24 Feb 2021 12:31 AM PST I run a YouTube channel called NightDocs where I focus mainly on documentaries about mysteries and such. Eckhardt's Ladder and I are in the early planning stages on a big collaboration to do a video on the wars of Eve Online. Because Eve Online doesn't really fit the theme of my channel, it's going to be on Eckhardt's channel. Although there are many really amazing stories in Eve, I want to do a story on the fall of Circle of Two Alliance since I was directly involved with it in the days before I had a platform, and it's to this day, one of the wildest experiences I've ever had in gaming. My Background with EveYears ago, I was a really avid player of Eve, and was a part of Circle of Two right as it fell in the Seige of M-OEE8. I was part of a corporation called Material Trade and Acquisition. I was TERRIBLE in combat, but had a big affinity toward industry, and I specialized in Planetary Interaction, even running workshops for people in my corp and alliance on best practices and made macro-enabled Excel workbooks that would pull live market data to help optimize what Tier 4 (or whatever the highest tier planetary resource was at the time) materials would be best to produce in a particular system. I was extremely invested in the game, and if I'm honest, it may have been a contributing factor in the downfall of my marriage haha I was even involved with actively recruiting and even made this stylized recruitment video (no relevant reason to show this, I just think it's fucking funny and wanted to show off haha) for my corporation during the early days when the war between CO2 and Pandemic Legion / Northern Coalition started heating up. The vision I have for this project is to make a highly polished almost WWII-style documentary about the events leading up to the downfall of CO2. It's an amazing story that I think needs to be heard by people who aren't familiar with Eve and the dynamics at play within the game. It'll be interwoven with my personal experience getting into Eve, joining a corp, or move to Null space, joining CO2, and getting immediately caught up in a huge war, and then my eventual quitting the game for mental health and real life balance, although I still miss it and have good memories What I Need From You Fine FolksSo here's what I'm trying to assemble and what I'm asking this community's help with:
I may need some help to remember some game mechanics so I can describe what's going on to a general audience, things like the mechanics of seiging a Keepstar. (How much damage does it take to take down shields, armor, hull, when do invulnerability timers come into play, how does system sovereignty work, etc) Some sources I've assembled

Map disbalance and why we have 1 trade hub Posted: 23 Feb 2021 04:23 PM PST Hi, I would like to share my thoughts with you. I think it's not entirely correct when all the most liquid items are in one part of the map. And the map looks like the Caldari, Gallente and Mataria have become friends I speak English badly, I translated it as best I could) Eng : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YqjZ79PeL0MGgSEr7-KBLzf6zv4ywqfyAMvdsIvN90s/edit?usp=sharing Rus : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1reiVoMC_zimnLioHl4rnGgxWzzYZ4Hb5g5DCQD7gmz8/edit?usp=sharing I wonder what you think about this? CCP Please make it so that we can search for a system with a dash/tac "-" as the second character. Posted: 23 Feb 2021 11:15 AM PST CCP Please make it so that we can search for a system with a dash/tac "-" as the second character or (third) in the name of a system in the route dialog box by typing in just the first three characters of that system. This has worked before. For example typing in "a-b" in the route search box, would have brought up the system " A-BO4V " in the search results. But as a few weeks this has not been the case. Yes a bug report has been filed and accepted. [link] [comments] |
What you're all forgetting about Snuffed Out Posted: 23 Feb 2021 12:57 PM PST Snuffed Out has a different reputation, as true killers in the Richard Bartle sense. Snuffed Out has been known to attack the weak at their weakest, laughing at them the whole time they're dying – the EVE equivalent of the hyena (the animal, not the ship). Don't expect "GFs" in local after an engagement either. Snuffed will wait for you to form your 15-man kitchen sink fleet and then drop 100 Legions backed by capital support, and call you a "scrub" for losing. Snuffed Out are not motivated by good fights, or even ISK (though they'll certainly have your ISK). They do what they do out of pure sadism. [link] [comments] |
Updated kill mark location guide? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 02:49 AM PST Anyone have a link to a current site? Can't find one. The google doc I have saved is very old and some ships have had their km locations moved [link] [comments] |
A little insight into Frat in the North. Posted: 23 Feb 2021 11:00 PM PST As a casual reddit lurker I have been enjoying the weekly Freemen of the North post and was very sad to hear that it would be drawing to a close with TP finally being crushed by the giant blob of frat. Seeing the massive fight kick off today in Aunenen over the hull timer of a Rote fort I realized maybe this isn't over (also anyone who knows please give AAR looks like a crazy fight). When looking at the losses sustained by Frat I began to wonder just how much they had lost in the past 3 month taking over the space and comparing that to what has been happening in the south. The results really surprised me. http://EVEWarReport.com/?ref=0b85e5d09d36c83 Goons and init vs frat for the past 8 months Frat lost 2.38 Tril http://EVEWarReport.com/?ref=fa13f221b6092b5 Frat vs Rote and TP for the last 3 months Frat lost 1.5 Tril Now I know I'm not counting all the opponents but I felt this should give a pretty reasonable showing and man I was surprised at just how much they had lost in the north but also just how little they had lost in the south. Anyways I hope other people find this as interesting/ surprising as I did. Feel free to tell me how I messed up my low effort analysis or what I forgot in the comments below! Edit: added frat losses so you don't have to click the link. Also obviously the amount frat has killed is way higher in the south, titan fights duh. What I'm talking about here is how the amount of Isk lost is so close (relatively). [link] [comments] |
A Message from Snuffed Out to Members of Nullsec TTT Alliances Posted: 23 Feb 2021 09:52 AM PST To all citizens of New Eden: Have you forgotten that Eve is a place of war and conflict? Everything we do in Eve fuels or funds conflict. War in inevitable. Help us break the blue donut.
Gratiously, we ask that, if you are a member of a nullsec alliance wardeccing Snuff, you afk during the timers. All you have to do is not show up. That's it. Nothing more. Go about your day. More timers will come about if the first timer fails. This will be endless. Everyone who hates what the TTT stands for, unite. you lost, read the first letter of each line [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Feb 2021 04:53 PM PST I just started playing eve a few days ago and I was able to finish the career agents missions but now I'm just not entirely sure what to do. I don't wanna miss any stuff that's important especially for a noob [link] [comments] |
