something interesting i found on that 240b gift sotiyo from goons Posted: 15 Feb 2021 09:04 PM PST https://zkillboard.com/kill/90738002/ aside from the rigs being the first of its kind to die, my attention was on the stuff that it dropped. theres a bunch of T2 frig ships stacked by 119 (and one stack of 92). afaik (correct me if im wrong) when things like these drop, they drop exactly as they were in build. and since these stacks are way more than a T2 BPC should be able to build, i think these frigs were built using T2 BPOs. my guess is theres at least 5 T2 BPOs (Taranis, Malediction, Stiletto, Ares, and Enyo) that were asset safety-ed when that sotiyo blew up. Redditors Lie but zKillboard Doesn't: r/Eve and the Nullsec Meta Posted: 15 Feb 2021 08:19 AM PST In 2016, a new Reddit account made its first post to Reddit and r/eve: the author claimed to be me, and "I" professed I was about to kill myself. In a panic, people in the EVE community subsequently dug up my real name and reached out to my family and employer out of concern for my safety. It wasn't true. As you can imagine, it forced some somewhat awkward conversations about mental health, my internet spaceship hobby, and the toxic side of online communities. I bring this up to illustrate one crucial point: r/eve is ridiculously easy to manipulate, and is so regularly. Treat things posted to it with about as much trust as words of the honest, hardworking people of Jita local. There are two requirements to make a post here:
That's it. Moderators moderate the subreddit based on the sidebar rules; they do not (and cannot reasonably) act as fact-checkers. There is no rule against posting something patently wrong or misleading. Therefore, it's essential to understand how trivial it is to manipulate the subreddit and how someone can leverage that understanding in the EVE Online metagame - particularly regarding nullsec. r/eve is, in many ways, just another battleground. Battles don't win conflicts in EVE Online; one side giving up or turning on each other does. The real war between two organizations is more akin to arm-wrestling than spaceship dogfighting; who breaks first? You see this rage on the subreddit regularly. After one side loses, the other comes to Reddit and gloats. After an extended series of losses or a particularly egregious one, one side may log in less. We saw this after the Great Feed of M2-XFE: Imperium pilots flocked to the subreddit, gleeful of their victory, and for a period of two to three weeks, the Imperium was outperforming PAPI in fights and winning objectives. What if you could create more of these situations that lower the enemy morale without actually winning a spaceship battle? The pressure on the other side's arm becomes that much more, and you didn't have to do much—just some typing. Sometimes it's as simple as anonymous log leaks. To avoid controversy, let's take a less recent example: the Imperium's high command leaks in the 2016 Casino War Bee. A disgruntled member of leadership took embarrassing logs - with The Mittani famously saying "we don't give a fuck about FCON" - created a throwaway Reddit account, and posted them here anonymously to harm the Imperium. It was the r/eve parroting point for weeks, with FCON ultimately leaving the Imperium. It wasn't the leaks themselves that caused that, but the rampant tribal parroting and misinformation that came out of those threads that convinced enough FCON members the Imperium was no good, and it was time to go. Sometimes it's much more subtle. What if I post some exciting screenshots from the test server, add some colorful text, use a few sockpuppet accounts, or rope in friends to post comments and make it look convincing? Some readers might rightly see it as bullshit, but the more don't - the more upvotes, the more belief appears in the comments section - the more real it becomes, the more impactful it is on its targets. A corporation CEO famously did this in the early 2010s, using test server screenshots and a swarm of commenters to convince a rejected applicant that he did, indeed, disband the corporation - and collected the aggrieved reject's bounty of PLEX. Exploit the ambiguous nature of anonymous internet posting, and you can convince people that things are better than they are, worse than they are, that something happened that didn't, or things that didn't happen did. I leave discerning what is true, false, spun, or unknown about the current r/eve happenings - the topics currently enthralling the subreddit - as an exercise for the reader. [link] [comments] |

Propaganda and a quick overview of our efforts. Posted: 15 Feb 2021 11:13 PM PST After the demise of the famous B-R5RB faction fortizar, which was the original station that sparked that bit of EVE history, I wanted to share our efforts in our push into Immensea. It would take a while to explain in details, but a quick war report should paint a clear picture of the status of our campain. Posted: 15 Feb 2021 11:30 AM PST Why? As someone with a lush beard I am deeply concerned about the reasoning behind that. The best we can get as far as character customization is some lousy slap-on texture mustache. I need real beard models to feel full immersion. I think even the female models should have a bearded option. [link] [comments] |
Triglavian Invasion Stopped by DKVC Posted: 15 Feb 2021 12:16 PM PST The Problem: No Trig Salvage Remember those triglavian invasions? When the trigs were going after our stars and being a general nuisance? With the end of the invasions and the creation of Pochven much of the trig content died down. As a result, the trig salvage became rare and t2 trig ships shot up in price. The search for a reliable means of securing trig salvage was on, and for quite a while there was not much info about it. From the limited information, we at Dark Venture Corporation took a stab at figuring out how to find trigs and kill them for that juicy loot. We read about the reverse static wormholes (originating in K space around the former Pochven systems) and saw that there were trigs on those wormholes in high sec space. As a wormhole group, we were interested. We spent a few days experimenting, and ran these sites in the way that is common knowledge now. However, we had also heard of the escalation of that group on the wormhole. We heard there was a second wave, bigger than the first, we also heard of a fabled 'third wave', that hadn't been seen before. Well, we've seen it, we've cleared it, and we'd like to share the experience. Current Solution: Hi-Sec Farming You can farm in relative safety in high sec space. Go to one of the regions around old Pochven systems, find the wormhole and get to work. In high sec space there will be trigs on the wormhole. These trigs will spawn 3 waves. After the third wave pilots on field will get an isk payout and a DED LP payout. After clearing the grid on the WH trigs will continuously spawn in system as roaming gangs. These trigs will appear on customs offices, the sun, stations and gates. The spawns can get up to 3-5 leshaks and are generally equivalent to somewhere between an emerging conduit and minor conduit in difficulty. This makes decent isk with little risk, but there is no second wave on the wormhole. Get More Trigs To find that second wave, you must go out of high sec space and into wormhole space. Wormholes that lead from pochven into WH space will have that same first spawn on the WH grid, and the same response waves. However, in WH space there is a second spawn on the WH grid. This is larger, with more elite trigs and more trigs overall. This is equivalent to somewhere between a minor and major conduit in difficulty. Again, there are 3 waves (with random triggers) and the site pays out a bounty in isk and DED LP. After the second spawn is cleared, the roaming gangs escalate, more ships and more elites. The Fabled Third Wave After another hour or two the third wave spawns on the WH grid. This wave was intense. It started with 2 dreks and a damavik, so we thought it just reverted to wave 1 and the fabled third wave was just a legend. Then we cleared the initial spawn. That started a flood of trigs like we'd never seen. A stream of trigs spawned for the next hour and a half, in groups of leshak, 15 kiki, 10 vedmak/rodiva. Huge amounts of trigs that seemed to never end. We counted a total of 6 Zorya spawns, tons of hospo spawns and trig salvage for days. Total loot drop was around 2 billion isk and the fun level was outrageous. The site paid out 43 million isk in bounty (that was paid from the Trig Collective instead of DED for some reason) in addition to all that loot and salvage. A total of somewhere around 100 trigs spawned on that third wave. The difficulty was somewhere between a major conduit and a world ark. See below for a video of the highlights from our clear. Shameless Plug So, if you are up for a challenge, and you want some trig loot. Go look for a WH connection from Pochven and start raking in the isk. Be ready to fight, because we at Dark Venture Corporation much prefer killing ratters than trigs, and we will be looking for some action if we see you in the chain. If you also enjoy exploring new content, teaching others and enjoying the game, check us out at Dark Venture Corporation. We are recruiting newbros in all timezones to join the fun in wormhole space. Join 'Banjo Fight Club' channel in game and give us a shout! References [link] [comments] |

Drone region smart bomb ratting Posted: 16 Feb 2021 02:20 AM PST Just curious as to whether or not this is viable at all? I've seen pages for fits for ships for it but nothing concrete so whether they were old info or not is beyond me. [link] [comments] |

PAPI, Imperium AUTZ have downtime brawl over 3-DMQT Cyno Jammers Posted: 15 Feb 2021 04:10 AM PST PAPI 414 pilots, 15bn lost / Imperium 247 pilots, 20bn lost At 10:30 EVE today, PAPI formed a Muninn fleet initially consisting of about 130 pilots and began hitting the cyno jammers anchored in 3-DQMT. This indicates PAPI is looking to start the process of attacking Imperium structures and infrastructure hubs in the Imperium's home constellation. After uncovering the PAPI objective, the Imperium formed a Muninn fleet of its own, plus about 60 carriers and supporting force auxillaries. The two fleets engaged briefly around 10:50 EVE, coming out around even as PAPI began pinging for a second fleet and a capital escalation path of its own. Once downtime ended, the Imperium was heavily outnumbered by the steady stream of PAPI reinforcements, and PAPI was able to force subcaps off and defang the fighters harassing it, taking down the first jammer, which was offline. The Imperium FC then put his HAC fleet on the second jammer alongside his entire fighter blob and bubbles. PAPI - who now had a significant subcapital superiority, warped to a ping and slowboated 500km to engage the Imperium HAC fleet and light fighter blob. With PAPI and the Imperium both able to volley any individual target and the numbers game in PAPI's favor, the Imperium gradually lost its ability to alpha targets, and the Imperium FC withdrew - conceding the remaining jammer. PAPI finished off the second jammer and babysat a Horde Azbel's *** Update: I'm told PAPI anchored three jammers in the system of its own. [link] [comments] |
