Goons flooding Goonswarm Federation with alts to mask a failure cascade

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 04:30 AM PST

I have been keeping track of the membership count of Goonswan Federation for the last three months. I have used eve-who, killboard records and searches ingame to conduct this analysis.

Conclusion: Goons are flooding GSF corps with characters with no corporation/killboard history to replace real membership losses.

    Current GSF membership count 29536
Characters joining GSF in last 90 days 5520
Characters leaving GSF in last 90 days 5408

Using a list drawn from eve-who and zkill, new and leaving characters can be analysed which gives the following conclusions:

    • Of the 5520 characters joining GSF in the last 90 days:
      • 3414 charactes are <90 days old with no corporation or killboard history.
      • 1172 characters are >90 days old with detailed corporation and average killboard history.
      • 611 characters are <90 days old with little/no corporation history and average killboard history.
      • 323 characters are >90 days old with no corporation or killboard history

    https://preview.redd.it/xebf79pge1i61.png?width=572&format=png&auto=webp&s=9637cdb24959ae978c1edd099bbaec14b01a4f8b

    • Of the 5408 characters leaving GSF in the last 90 days:
      • 4032 characters are >90 days old with detailed corporation or killboard history
      • 585 characters are <90 days old with little/no corporation history and/or average killboard history.
      • 301 characters are <90 days old no corporation or killboard history
      • 214 characters are >90 days old with no corporation or killboard history

    https://preview.redd.it/5qekkvidf1i61.png?width=587&format=png&auto=webp&s=e660cc3c956eb194c06b9135c3cb07c470df4a62

This highlights that the vast majority of new characters appearing in GSF corps are alt characters with no development or useage. The characters leaving appear to be 'real' characters that have been played.

Note: Corporation history has been judged on number of corps and lenght of membership. Killboard history has been judged on 1 kill per 21 days to be considered average.

    Capt Full of Shit: Progodlegend

"Good fighting everyone. We got the short end of the stick today with CCP messing up the node assignments. For those who weren't aware, CCP accidentally assigned all of the systems we requested to the same node (including T5ZI), while 1DQ1 was not that same node.

It's not some goon trick or a conspiracy theory, just an honest CCP mistake. CCP have been pretty good with the nodes for a while, so it's unfortunate but shouldn't be the norm. It did however make our plans today pretty impossible though, and despite all that we missed the RF on our target ihub by literally seconds.

So good work in tough conditions, get your ships replaced and get ready for the next one.

Fucking Christ. Do you guys really believe this bullshit? If this was an honest mistake by CCP and it wasn't some SPo0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0ooky conspiracy theory, then there is no need to say it. You're straight up lying to your own guys. This isn't good for the game or yourselves.

worst realizations being a new bro

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 07:52 PM PST

While bashing shit we started talking about our worst/realizations playing eve.

" It took me 3 weeks before I found out that I could double click in eve to set my ships to go in that direction"

" I took me 2 weeks to get to a station before I could right-click and warp to a station"

What stories do you have about your starting adventures in eve?

All EVE Online Patch Notes in 2021 (short read)

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 09:37 AM PST

    Excluding bug fixes...

    January

    • They flipped the switch on quantum cores. Presumably this was something they already coded months ago and simply activated it.
    • Added new billboard graphics (wow!)
    • That's it! That's every non-bugfix change made to EVE Online in the 31 days of January

    February

    • Added a jump tunnel animation they already made months ago but then took some more months to unfuck
    • They took the clone service interface panel and cut/pasted it into the character sheet
    • They let you redeem your kestrel BPCs to your home station
    • They added Fleet Finder to the agency window. The functionality of this tool is nearly identical to what we already had, with a couple of extra options to make it easier to grief newbros and a different layout.
    • Guardians Gala

That's it! We are in Week 7 of 2021. This is what we have to show for it. Next week will be Week 8. There is no clear indicator of what we can expect over the next 8 weeks other than a vague trailer that shows a lot of things that are making us all extremely nervous.

Meanwhile, due to scarcity, undocking a shitfit T1 battleship with a reasonable compliment of ammo and losing it to a fraternity gate camp will cost you roughly 7 US dollars, about what you'd pay for a skin in Dota that you get to keep and use forever.

Whelping a HAW dread to Horde will cost you roughly 80 US dollars if it's decently fit, enough money to buy a deluxe edition of most new AAA games released these days, that, again, you get to keep and play forever.

Now, I know it's passé to make such equivalencies, but I'm only following the tutelage of CCP itself, who enjoys bragging about such things. https://www.eveonline.com/article/qnwh9k/the-massacre-of-m2-xfe

Is anyone tired yet? I guess if you're in WWB you can't really care right now, but if you aren't... yikes. I've unsubbed all but one of my omegas. Blizzcon is this weekend, maybe that'll polish off my last omega...

Anyone else feel like the event data sites (both k and j space) suck?

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 01:41 PM PST

I've been hitting these whenever I find them and actively searching WHes for them, and I've noticed a couple of things:

    1. The spawn rate in WHes seems pretty bad, considering the random nature of finding a useful WH. Not sure if it gets better in c5/c6 (I've only gone into c1-c4 searching) but it seems pretty barren, even in holes with nobody living in them.

    2. The loot seems to suck - small sample size I know, but in maybe ~15 k-space sites and ~10 j-space sites I've found 0 event drops. No boosters, no BPs, no nothing. And even in J-space the OSE drops seem awful - only once have I seen anything above an 8th tier.

Anyone else having the same experience? Or am I just unlucky?

I keep coming across frozen corpses just left to the side of my normal travel routes. Is it ok if I pick these up and take them home with me. If it makes a difference I donate the meat to an orphanage. Every body I am able to collect means a hungry Orphan gets to eat. I am concerned that it might be considered bad etiquette to take random corpses I find.

papi negative feeling blame something else thread

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 03:10 PM PST

    Following the battle in 8WA-Z6

this thread can be used by papi to blame "something" for not winning.

    Examples:

    - there was a weather storm thing in eve

    - bad game mechanics with jammers

    - they have 5000 extra alts

    - but but the mittani (pbuh)

edit 1:ffs this is the first. which one of the above got used?

"Good fighting everyone. We got the short end of the stick today with CCP messing up the node assignments. For those who weren't aware, CCP accidentally assigned all of the systems we requested to the same node (including T5ZI), while 1DQ1 was not that same node.

What's actually the point of Multiple Character Training Certificates?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2021 12:31 AM PST

Now hear me out, I might be missing something for all I know but I do want to know why someone wouldn't just spend the money on a separate account entirely. This is what I figured.

Let's say there are two separate accounts, and someone wants to get omega for both of them.

The going rate for this example is $20 AUD for 1 month of Omega. This is $20 + $20. Now if you didnt want to continue paying for one of them for what ever reason, you can still end up training other skills in its alpha clone state without having to pay another dime until you inevitably run out of skills and you could play both at once through either a second PC or a virtual machine if you are good at getting it working.

However in an account with two characters, I'm still paying effectively two omega states because of the extra training queue only lasting 30 days and it costs the same, if not more to have a second training queue. What's more is I can't play both of them at the same time if I wanted to, and if I stopped paying for the extra queue then it pauses and I can't level it up!

With all that said is there some advantage to having multiple characters in one account? Because I don't see it beyond being able to switch over to a different character on the fly without having to pay for the omega status.

TAPI flooding alliance with alts to mask a failure cascade

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 07:04 AM PST

I have been keeping track of the membership count of TAPI for the last three months. I have used my NINJA skills to telepathically count all TAPI members every day at sunset, and imprinting the number in my steel memory via sunwave feeding.

Conclusion: TAPI is flooding corps with characters to replace real membership losses.

Using a list drawn from my AMAZING MEMORY and TELEPATHIC SPY POWERS, new and leaving characters can be analyzed which gives the following conclusions:

    https://preview.redd.it/4nay1v5f22i61.jpg?width=259&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37e02ffb9339c72694bd886a4a62eceab1cc39a0

Of the 3145 characters joining TAPI in the last 90 days:

    • 145 charactes are <90 days old but they can fly a VENTURE to cyno in all those TAPI JF that move to Delve
    • 850 characters are >90 days old but they can fly a CRUCIFIER and be annoying
    • 1500 characters are <90 days old but they do PI for 40m a month to feed that TEST SRP
    • 650 characters are >90 days old and can fly a CORMORANT (these are actually ISK LOSS for TAPI because CORMORANTS are very expensive)

Of the 3214 characters leaving TAPI in the last 90 days:

    • 214 characters are >90 days old and are all TITAN PILOTS that will pursue a new career as High Sec Orca alts
    • 800 characters are <90 days old and are all EAGLE pilots pissed off TAPI has switched to Cerberuses
    • 600 characters are <90 days old and are FAX PILOTS that really want to get on some killmails
    • 1600 characters are >90 days old and are all ALTS OF VILY WHO IS RELOCATING TO LOW SEC IN SNUFF

This highlights that the vast majority of new characters appearing in TAPI are useless as usual, while all the characters leaving are super mega uber important.

The current state of mining / industrial

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 08:58 PM PST

I'm pretty old player (04) but have been gone a while. I have a couple accounts one of which is a industrial / mining character. I was out looking to do some mining with it snd noticed the belts are different now. Some research indicates last year they did a huge resource rebalance or change - so now it seems much of the mid grade ore is gone off to low/null sec and any kind of industry needs a way to source to those systems or just purchase. To me that seems like a super waste of time.

    • 1: I have zero access to low or null space.

    • 2: even if I did, why or how would I even want to risk taking a hauler back and forth?

    • 3: the costs for 2 would be insane.

    • 4: all my bps need the high end minerals - without them I can't do anything.

    • I 5: buying these minerals literally kills any profit from making things in the first place.

So it seems my Indy character is obsolete? (All skills in mining, ore ships, orca, drones, industrial production etc) as a solo player I guess I'm extracting the skills and giving the injectors to my main combat /mission character? Unless I'm missing something.
