Covid claim's another pilot "LordSory Ownage" Posted: 03 Mar 2021 12:45 PM PST I have been playing eve online for 13 years, made some friends and made some enemies, this game is not like any other and you can form real bonds with people you have never even met in person. Corp members become family over time and we share our good times as well as the bad. In this post I want to share a low time for the group I play with. Covid claim's another victim Lordsory Ownage after being in a coma for a month fighting covid he lost his battle leaves behind 4 kids and a wife. Thank you for 9 year's of friendship and laughter' you will be missed. With the massive amount of medical bills that his wife will be facing our group has started up a gofundme page.If anyone reading this post can help with any amount, we would be very grateful. This is such a surreal time for us and I just ask the eve community to help alleviate some of this financial burden off of his family. thank you all in advance for any donation amount. -O7 fly safe https://www.gofundme.com/f/bryson-scott-richardsons-memorial-funds?utm_campaign=m_pd+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer [link] [comments] |

CCP Hellmar explaining his vision for EVE Posted: 04 Mar 2021 01:08 AM PST |
When is enough, enough? CCP's precarious position as both a company and for us, as players. Posted: 03 Mar 2021 10:10 AM PST "Abundance breeds Complacency and Scarcity breeds War" We are now coming up on a year since the highly controversial blog post was posted back on the 3rd of March, 2020, detailing CCP's plans for a healthier long term outlook for our beloved game soon to be starting its third decade of life. What CCP seemingly continue in failing to realise, is the enormous landslide they find themselves standing in front of. Waiting to come crashing down when enough of a disturbance is caused. Multiple huge changes have been made to the economy, the ongoing southern war causing trillions to be destroyed and every major player in said war is scrambling to raise enough funds through selling stockpiles and war bonds has also made an enormous compounding impact to the delicate ecosystem we find ourselves entangled within. The southern war is being beaten to death be it through in game channels, discords, twitch podcasts, you name it. So apologies for bringing it up once more. Fueled by resentment for each other and too much spare time due to COVID we have bore witness to record levels of isk destroyed and record numbers of players on field. Many people resubbed to the game to see Goons die, and many will be quitting the game entirely once it is over - the complete and utter destruction of their eternal foe being their last hurrah in a game they have dedicated years of their life to playing. We can see this reflected in the quarterly revenue reports and the large increase in the PCC for a while. But all bubbles must burst eventually. For your average player not involved, the changes have made playing the game an enormous chore. For those not quitting after the deed is done, they need to realise there has to be a game to go back to. The impact has not started to be fully felt by the people in the front lines that currently have their alliances pay for everything they lose. Base mineral prices are at an all time high. The index has quite literally gone off the charts. Ratting income is precariously close to blackout levels at just 20T for the entire game per month (Equating to 28T with the ESS payouts as I have been corrected on by /u/paulHarkonen), with players instead opting for instanced, solo content or running incursions for 300m/h in almost absolute safety. Space outside of specific warzones is now desolate, with PvP roaming being fruitless for hours and ESS (acting via the agency as a literal dinner bell for specialised groups) being mostly undefended is causing a huge starvation of content. Those that do occupy regions not owned by botting coalitions are unwilling to fight because losing is now just too costly. Moving forward, we can equate your time investment to what you can do for content in EVE as it stands. I will use examples that a majority of the playerbase currently utilise in null. A 300 million isk Ishtar, or a Gila, ships mainly used by multiboxers and line membership largely unable to defend itself in a PvP scenario makes at best 50-60 million per hour after taxes and the ESS take their cuts, assuming no interruptions. A 6 hour ROI, grinding in one of the most stale but primary areas of content in the game, in order to make money to actually have "fun" playing the actual game with. For every hour you spin your ship, you can afford a single T2 fitted, T1 cruiser at current prices, and maybe a T2 frigate. Three hours buys you a T1 battlecruiser at a push, and six will buy you a reasonably fitted HAC or other T2 cruiser. On the other side of the coin, mining and industry has also suffered immeasurably. Moon goo prices have seen as much of a drop as 60% since the removal of ores, with the overall reduction in m3 replaced by even more of the specific goo and the steadily dropping T2 ship prices have reflected that. People have huge quantities of reaction material that is almost impossible to move on the market, and base level ores vanishing have ground production to a halt for those not reprocessing rat loot for a fraction of what they had before or paying an insane amount of isk in isotopes that have also massively increased in price to import the materials they need. The core gameplay loop is in shambles for those who are newer to the game or don't have billions of isk in savings to go and fund whatever they want to go and do. People have lives and they have jobs. Would you rather spin your ishtar around a haven for 2 hours to go and roam for 2 hours and find nothing or spend that time playing something more entertaining with the limited hours in your day you find yourself having? Its an easy answer. CCP are meanwhile changing 20 lines of database code every 3 months as a 'quadrant' expansion and half the time, miss the mark with their implementation of new features we both ask and don't ask for., whilst at the same time neglecting many simple changes and balancing choices people have been complaining about for years. They piggyback off of these quadrant 'releases' with relentless marketing of PLEX, skillpoints and skill packs as if we are oblivious to what they are trying to do in attempts to recover from the disastrous PA buyout news. Almost as if they want a gold star for getting an F in an exam, and being proud of the fact that they are trying despite complete failure. Why do we have to spend 3 months training skills to warp a fleet in a specific formation? Should this not be a core mechanic within the game? Is it not awfully convenient they sell specifically 1.62m SP, knowing longer term players have a huge diminishing return on injectors for an absurd amount of money around the same time? Why are the "Magic 14" skills, a huge barrier to entry for new players not a base part of your character instead of being something people have to waste 2 months training so that they can even begin training to be fully effective at something, and instead monetised in a game someone is already paying a subscription fee to play every month? So many questions, and no real answers. Even the CSM is being largely ignored. This is not a healthy direction for EVE to be going. Players need to be out there having fun, to be able to shoot eachother without fearing for where their next hull will come from. FC's are becoming more risk averse, players as individuals are becoming more risk averse, and the longer this keeps up the bigger the fall is going to be. Community discontent is now reaching Incarna levels and with the game currently propped up by a huge war and people not being able to go outside CCP are setting this game up for catastrophic failure once it concludes. I just hope that, for once, CCP know what they are doing and aren't trying to milk the last drops out of a dying cow. I have no idea as to the specific strategies at play that are in place nor do I claim to know how you would need to approach my highlighted issues to rectify any of this and nor is it my job to, but as paying customers, mostly long enough to have seen all the highs and all the lows, must put our foot down and say enough is enough like last time. XtraSquishy - Skill Point Resurgence Posted: 03 Mar 2021 09:17 AM PST |
Misleading advertisement, Australia Posted: 03 Mar 2021 02:05 PM PST First off, I love EVE and the community. I would like to urge CCP to do better and not break the law, for the benefit of the game. I think this is a very issue that we, as a community, can speak out about. So specifically for Australians, what can you do? For Australians, according to the ACCC this is textbook misleading advertisement. Since CCP never sold skillpoint for the previous, crossed out amount.
According to the ACCC, the first step in case of misleading advertisement would be to file an official complaint about their illegal activities with CCP directly. To any CCP employees, thank you for your effort in creating and maintaining this unique game. [link] [comments] |

Is CCP doing anything about Povchen and EDENCOM content? Posted: 03 Mar 2021 02:11 PM PST Thousands of players who have spent thousands of hours grinding standings or spend many weeks defending systems as part of EDENCOM have been completely let down by CCP. Are they doing anything to address this? Also how do CCP intend on keeping the market supplied with EDENCOM ships when they have removed any way of making DED LP seriously? [link] [comments] |

EVE Online emails taking hours to reach me Posted: 03 Mar 2021 11:28 PM PST As title states, when trying to log into EVE Online the verification code emails are taking hours. Because the verification code is only good for 30 minutes its impossible to log in. I can't log into the forums for same reason. I verify i'm getting emails from other sources, and even tried an account using a different email provider. So basically I can't log into play, and I can't log into to support to make a ticket either. FC What do edit: to the person who just replied to this post you are shadow banned :( [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Mar 2021 02:21 PM PST Now that I've trained everything I seem to be interested in, It would be great to have some skills which serve absolutely no purpose other than bragging rights. Suggestion... Add a skill for Patience. Time to train to V is 47 days and it unlocks Advanced Patience. Time to train to V is 192 days. The new improvements always seem to be met with "nobody asked for that" so I'm really trying to stay ahead of this negativity by asking for stuff we ABSOLUTELY NEED!. [link] [comments] |

CCP straight up selling skillpoints - is this new? Posted: 03 Mar 2021 06:22 AM PST |
Some things that I would like to see added (back) Posted: 03 Mar 2021 10:50 PM PST • Walking in stations • Triglavians and Drifters duking it out against faction NPC police on gates and celestials (like in Pochven) • an electrical effect around the ship when it goes into an electrical abyss, higher tier the abyss, stronger the current • Triglavian data and relic sites in Pochven, can contain Trig salvage and loot (those logs, weapon systems and whatnot) • a module to speed up the gas huffing cycles (T1 and T2 modules that are available for both Alphas and Omegas) • hostage missions where the capsuleer has a limited amount of time to destroy/kill all the pirates, complete the objective and return back to the mission giver's station • some form of AI for the pirate NPCs, where they randomly increase and lower their resistances, to make the game more interactive and realistic (example in comments) • EDENCOM logistics frigates and cruisers with the vorton projector mechanic in mind: the amount repaired is somewhat mediocre, but will be applied to 5 random fleetmates (like the weapon, but instead of dealing damage it repairs damage) [link] [comments] |
Related Kills | Wirashoda | 2021-03-04 03:00 Posted: 03 Mar 2021 08:36 PM PST For the first time Frats were able to get past armor timer. The next timer is going to be fairly interesting: Frats will bring better fitted ships and Stribogs will replace these worthless rail Megathrons by something with at least 500 DPS By the way, nice to have some hard evidence proving that at least a part of the Blue Triangle (corps in Pochven that are blue to Triglavians and to each other) are Goons. Guess what time it is? Time for the usual "CCPlease more appearal or hair styles" Posted: 03 Mar 2021 10:56 PM PST Seriously. Pretty please? Can we get more hairstyles. Fuck. I'd pay 50$ in Plex for one. Can we also get some that work with the proving ground suits, maybe have a few strands of hair hanging down? Please? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Mar 2021 12:21 AM PST Hey all, I'm feeling super salty, and half want to vent, but I'd really like advice or just thoughts in general. I really like EVE and feel really close to quitting. I don't want to make too much of a wall of text, but I'll just say, living in null, having fun participating in the war, trying to rat, losing ratting ships regularly, typically they only just barely pay for themselves. Totally stagnating. I've made plenty of isk Jita trading, but wanted to try something more real, but JF costs in my alliance are just so high. I can't move ore in to sell at a profit because local mineral prices are too low, I guess from people dumping their own stores of minerals like CCP wants. But so then for someone who's not already established, what are we supposed to do? I can't even rat to make a profit because of inherent risk. I could get gud, but even then I just feel like my ticks are miserable. How the hell do people plex their accounts? I can't build anything for a significant profit or in significant volume. Can't import for a profit either. Like, on one hand because it's a hot topic, I want to blame the scarcity but I don't even know if that's the problem that I'm having. What set it off for me was losing a ratting ship that hadn't paid for itself yet, and then realizing after mathing harder, that the ore I was trying to import was at a loss. Like, I figured how could you go wrong with compressed pyerite, trit, and mex ores? idk. Anyway, big wall of text, makes no sense, apologies, but just don't understand what the devs expect us to be doing. How do people even earn isk to plex if you aren't already very well established? May not reply right away, gotta rest my damn eyes. [link] [comments] |
