| Posted: 26 Jun 2020 05:34 PM PDT As the title says, 5 weeks ago I submitted a support ticket regarding my account being hacked and drained of all assets and skills. I have not heard a single word or response regarding the issue since then. The hack is admittedly my own fault as 6 weeks ago I had my email compromised which led to passwords and accounts across the board being compromised. I was not actively playing eve for some time before this, and didnt think to check my eve account until a week later at which point I found all assets/skill points drained and was able to find a login IP address from out of the country. I submitted all information needed regarding the hack and could have submitted the info required by financial institutions for fraud, but it was never requested. Nothing was requested, no answers were given. The ticket said "updated" after about 2 weeks but no update or response was actually included, just a reset on the "last activity" timer. Is there any other way to contact support? It is disappointing that a successful game like eve cant afford the effort to give a response to a support ticket after over a month while crummy mobile games are able to do so within 48 hours. Should the community hold them to a higher standard, or am I just unlucky and got lost in the queue while they normally respond in an appropriate time frame? EDIT: I do understand these things take time and am happy to wait for a result. My biggest concern is the lack of any communication at all. Especially when the time it takes for a response is in excess of the billing period to continue to play and without communication the concern of "How many months should I wait" has an escalating price tag (Note: I'm not worried about the actual cost, but the principal behind this is very disturbing for me whether it was $1 or $100) . | Posted: 26 Jun 2020 03:45 PM PDT Now with having ACL Bookmarks and being able to logout into another char without restarting the client, it would be freakin' amazing to have ACL hangars. They kinda behave like corp hangars but as the name tells are controlled via access lists. This gets rid of the contracting or trading between alts. I wouldn't even mind having to pay a rent for the hangars to DED or who ever the station owner is. [link] [comments] |

| AAR: Alexis Finch Saves the Ansiblex Posted: 26 Jun 2020 08:28 AM PDT The insistent shriek of the phone shook Alexis out of her contemplations. She sat at a desk cluttered with papers and dossiers with such creative headings as "SF Evacuation Plans", "Cagali's July 2020 SOTA Script, First Draft", and her personal favorite: "Shit List". It was to this last folder that she directed her attention, even as the phone on her desk continued to trill at her. Flipping it open, she ran one callused fingertip down the list of names as her other hand scooped up the headset. "Finch," she growled. "This is an automated message," the robotic voice intoned. "The V-3 ansiblex is under attack by Thermodynamics. It is out of shield." The line went dead as her finger continued its trek, falling ever deeper into the dregs of the Shit List. It stopped, and like Orpheus pulling Eurydice from the Hadean depths, she found her name. One fist thumped the intercom as the other slammed the Shit List shut. "Andrard. My office. Now." Click. She watched the clock on the wall above her office door. Thirty seconds, she calculated, until her mood soured even further. Djavak Andrard arrived in forty, and she made sure he'd remember it. "Ma'am," Djavak said. He came to attention and snapped her a crisp salute. "Andrard. At ease." Djavak stood at ease, but the tension of his brace belied his fear. Her eyes took on an orange tint as she looked him up and down. His SARO 'Black Troop' combat suit was polished to a velvet black sheen, proudly displaying the tags he'd earned and the battles he'd won. Not that it mattered here. "We've got Thermo on the V-3 ansiblex," she said, sliding a DOTLAN map across the desk. Djavak glanced at it, then to her, and returned his eyes to face forward, his jaw tightening in fear. "Yes, ma'am." "So why the FUCK aren't you saving it?" "M-ma'am, w-with respect, they'll just get bored and--" In a flash, Alexis came around the desk and stopped in front of Djavak. His mouth hadn't yet closed by the time her grip found his throat, cutting off blood and oxygen in one swift motion. "Did I ASK for your tactical assessment, Andrard?" His mouth gaped like a fish out of water. He struggled to hold his posture, but lightheadedness brought him to his knees. Her face lowered, now level with his, and he could smell the mixture of cigar smoke and The Macallan 25-year single malt on her breath. "Did I ask your PERMISSION?" "N-no," he croaked weakly. She released her grip on his throat and took one step back, then lifted one hand to brush a strand of hair behind her ear. "No," she affirmed. "I didn't. So...?" She cocked her head to one side as Djavak struggled to get to his feet and suppress a coughing fit that threatened to overwhelm him. "On the way, ma'am," he wheezed. He managed a nearly-regulation salute, turned, and walked briskly to the door and through it. The moment the door shut, she heard his steps disappearing down the hallway at a sprint. She smiled in spite of herself, scooped up the glass of scotch, and rifled it back without batting an eyelid. Once deployed, it was Djavak Andrard upon whom the fleet was anchored, but every line member knew the truth of it: it was the fear of Finch's wrath that kept them in line. The op itself went without a hitch, as none of the fleet dared lose a ship on her watch. As capsuleers, they were indeed immortal, but she was capable of visiting such pains and horrors upon them as to make them wish they weren't. Each man knew it, and so each man did his very best to avoid it. The ansiblex was saved in short order, and so the fleet returned home to GE-. Settling back into her office, she relished the chance to enjoy a fine Cohiba cigar, a glass of scotch, and a few minutes of quiet. The next time the phone rang, she neatly impaled it on the desk with her bowie knife and kept right on drinking. [link] [comments] |
